First to winterize an outdoor kitchen area in the fall, and second to de-winterize the same area in the spring. Both required a second "service call" at my expense because they missed a leak. On the de-winterization job, their recommendation to fix the leak was to cut away the stainless steel below our sink (photo attached). I'm glad they were not capable enough to do the work because the person we hired to fix it, laughed at this recommendation. It was fixed in 20 min without any cutting!!! When asked to remove the charge for their second "service call" to diagnose the problem that I found, they refused. Stay away!!!

When our pipes froze during the big storm this January (thankfully, without water in them), we decided to hire Plumbums again. That didn't go as well. Quality of work: The fixes Jim suggested (a series of individual junction fixes) seemed reasonable for the repairs needed, but in some cases replacing whole sections would have been more time- and cost-efficient (according to other plumbers we've had in our home who have seen the work done). And we needed four return visits within our first three days living in the house to address issues that had not been resolved or that popped up as soon as we turned systems on. One problem (heat running constantly on our first floor, making the house over 80 degrees in the winter) was unresolved until I researched possible causes myself and communicated that to Jim, who sent out one of his guys to implement the fix. Professionalism: We were frustrated by the lack of care shown toward our property. Jim's guys left plumbing debris (not just the stuff our homeowner's insurance requested, but just straight-up trash), food trash, and drywall dust in our basement and living areas. This means that the first thing we had to do after driving 3,200 miles to move in was clean up after them. Drywall was removed roughly in several locations, and although patching was not included in the estimate, the cuts themselves appeared unnecessarily sloppy (and our new plumber neatly cuts and replaces drywall as a matter of course, leaving the mudding to us, which is fine). Plumbums did work well with our insurance company to get our claim handled, and ultimately we have working plumbing. But our experience wasn't great.

In addition the pipe is not buried deep enough to keep it from freezing, yet if any deeper, waste wouldn't flow to the tank (it's a very old system). A couple years ago, we were getting air in our pipes. Mark Anderson Plumbing came out and found the cracked pipe in our well. They changed the piping and the well pump (which was old) and everything has worked great. Just the other day, we had issues with water pressure in our house. We changed the well pressure switch ourselves, but pressure would still climb to 90psi before we would shut the power off again (to be safe and not ruin our pipes). At this point, my husband and I decided we should call the professionals. I called at 8:30pm on a Wednesday and left a message with their answering service. I got a call back from Mark Anderson at 9:38pm! I advised him what we had done and he gave us some helpful knowledge that allowed us to complete the job ourselves. Not only did we feel empowered that we were able to do it ourselves, but we had piece of mind that if we were not able to do it ourselves, Mark stated that I could call him in the morning and he would squeeze me in for an appointment. (This company is 24/7 response, but our issue was not that much of an emergency as we could live without water until the next day). This company originally came to me as a recommendation from a coworker. I strongly recommend this family-owned business. I had a new kitchen counter & sink installed, and the contractor said they never install the sink (mine is a regular, simple drop-in) because plumber's prefer to have the room to work. Paul the Plumber sent a young kid out, who announced that they don't install sinks. Well, after calls to their office they agreed to drop in the sink, and charged me MORE than the cost of the $300 sink for less than 1/2 work. I also wasn't expecting them to say that they will only replace all of the piping so they can guarantee it, so the whole bill came to around $1000. Next thing I know, there's water all over the place. So they send the same kid out and it turns out that he didn't cap the drain for the dishwasher (which hadn't been installed yet) so he rigged up something. In the meanwhile, the same kid fixed the hot/cold water valve on my downstairs shower, and somehow ended up breaking the entire shower head off the wall, and cutting a huge hole in the wall. He also snaked the upstairs tub. Guess what? More water under the kitchen sink. So I checked to see if the plumbing license on the website is still valid (which it is), but it certainly isn't for this kid. So I called and told them about the water under the sink & asked for the kid's license #. She said she'd get back to me with the #, but instead sent out another guy who DID have a license. Turns out the unlicensed kid capped the drain incorrectly and he didn't screw down the sink drain correctly either, which is why water was leaking everywhere. And as for the tub? The kid managed to screw that up too so the drain stopper didn't work any more and I had to pay another plumber to fix it. The upshot? This is the place for you if you want some unlicensed, unsupervised kid doing your work.
