To our surprise, after she was very tardy to our consult, she interrupted our consult 3 x actually leaving our mtg 2x before abruptly ending our consult without finishing but abruptly running out to take a 3rd call, The opposite of clean, not in a good way - to make matters even messier, she not only omitted the actual 2nd opinions of both surgeons from the consult report, she invented her own facts, writing a sloppy thrown together 2nd opinion consult report omitting the diagnosis or assessments of the 2 well regarded surgeons opinions whose 2nd opinion we came to receive but also we were forced to report false information, incorrect, misleading misinformation, numerous inaccuracies cited in her report. Clearly, abruptly leaving a 2nd opinion consult 3x it is no surprise she had to make things up since she was not present for the whole consult. 3. Reporting the totality of misleading information, inaccuracies, false information & errors to her, her MA pushed back with citing a so called "policy" against making corrections. She then further included a whole procedure she wholly invented which I have never had creating a further misleading false narrative, bad summation of misinformation & posted this to her report & the medical notes. 4. After experiencing Dr Challapalli's messy consult followed up by reading through her sloppy work, if this is indication of her actual reconstructive work, this was a very eye opening experience to say the least. 5. I stated in my request and on the phone that I wanted to book for the Union Square location. The person on the phone was helpful and suggested Dr. Virginia Smith-Bronstein, we moved forward with booking the appointment and I received the confirmation for the 450 Sutter location. So far so good. Leading up to the appointment, I don't receive any type of appointment reminder other than a request to submit info via MyChart. I didn't think much of this at the time and submit the info. Day of the appointment, I arrive early and check in. As I'm waiting in the reception area, Silvia from the front desk comes over to me and says, "Oh did you get our message? Dr. Smith-Bronstein is in the San Rafael office." Um no, I was not contacted about this. I show her the confirmation that I booked for the Union Square location. Silvia asks me to confirm my phone number (which was correct), they had never attempted to contact me. I'm then informed that Dr. Smith-Bronstein is only in the SF Office every other Friday. I was immediately charged for the visit upon checking in. I ask to please be refunded. Silvia asks if I would like to reschedule, I decline. I ask again that I will be refunded for this appointment and Silvia says yes it's done. While I'm in the building lobby I receive a voicemail from Silvia asking if I would like to be refunded or apply it to my next visit. I had just told you less than 5 minutes before in-person that I wanted to be refunded and you had told me it was done! Then I had to waste more time out of my day emailing and calling them several times to get the charge refunded. Billing department tells me they can't find the charge and asks if I can send them the receipt (their own receipt) along with screenshot of my bank statement. Instead of calling me back, they call my emergency contact on file to discuss the billing issue. I understand that mistakes happen, but they weren't apologetic and didn't take any accountability for the mistake. As a new patient, how am I supposed to know which location the doctor is in on which days?Their lack of oversight and competency is why I will NOT be rescheduling with them. Complete waste of time and incredibly frustrating as I took time off work to attend this appointment. I wish I had listened to all of the other negative reviews for this office. Steer clear of this practice.

Dr. Meyer identified the problem as posterior tongue tie and clipped my baby's frenulum the next day. There are only a few doctors in the Bay Area who will perform this procedure, which takes about thirty seconds and is done without anesthesia. Dr. Meyer talked me through the process so I knew exactly what to expect. Honestly, watching my daughter get immunizations was far worse. I am now enjoying a pain-free nursing relationship with my daughter. I was also impressed with Dr. Meyer's entire staff. They were great with me, my baby, and my three-year-old daughter, who tagged along for the appointments. A kid- and parent-friendly doctor's office if I ever saw one.

Meeting Dr. Meyer really helped me feel more comfortable. She's young yet professional and was really good with my daughter. She told us how she uses a "cold steel" technique to remove the tonsils that minimizes the painful charring that can occur with other tonsillectomy techniques. The night before surgery we went shopping for pudding, jello, and ice cream and my daughter was really looking forward to the process ... I was still nervous. The surgery went better than I could have possibly hoped. After pretending to be a fighter pilot with her oxygen mask, my daughter was literally giggling on her way back to the OR. She was done in about 20 minutes and although a little groggy, still in good spirits. I was amazed that she was able to drink liquids quite well that night and slept much better than before the surgery. After a few quiet days around the house, she was up and running again with no ill-effects. Now she's got much more energy than before and fewer of the poor-sleep inspired whiny tantrums. I've talked with lots of other parents who's kids have had there tonsils out and they're all amazed how easy it was for my daughter. The only conclusion I can make is that Dr. Meyer is fabulous!

He genuinely wants to see his patients improve. I was relieved by his confidence and experience. His administrative team is excellent and they move with efficiency and care for patients. I've spent thousands of dollars trying to correct the damage caused by the Kybella treatments Dr. Maas recommended for my cheeks--damage that he later attempted to patch with lopsided, uneven filler. The deep indentations at the injection sites, combined with the deflated skin, have left me looking partially melted. I am in my early 40s and once looked young for my age, but now the results have aged me by at least five years. Dr. Maas assured me my skin would "snap back," but it never did, and I feel foolish for believing that sales pitch. What makes this even harder to accept is that my original reason for visiting was to discuss a blepharoplasty--not fat reduction. Instead, he zeroed in on my perioral mounds and convinced me that Kybella would be a simple fix. It wasn't. The results were uneven and disfiguring. Even other providers I've since consulted with react with concern when I mention "Kybella in my cheeks," often saying they cannot understand why anyone would inject it there. After multiple consultations, I've come to accept that a facelift may be the only way to correct this damage. I strongly urge anyone considering treatment here to seek a second opinion before committing. Otherwise, you may end up, as I have, living with a botched result that serves as a daily reminder of misplaced trust.

Dr. Doo did an endoscopy on my husband in 2013 when he was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. I…read moream grateful to him for treating my husband at a time when he needed help. Dr. Doo seemed courteous and professional... thus, the 3 stars. However I want to note that I firmly disagree with Dr. Doo's conclusion that it is not possible for cirrhosis to be reversed, and that there is no other option besides a transplant. Several doctors, including Dr. Doo, told me this, over and over again, when my husband was diagnosed with cirrhosis. And in my opinion there are many way better options besides a transplant. My husband's MELD score was a 28. Within 3 months, it was down to a "9" and within 6 months (total) it was down to an "8" which is supposedly just about as low as it can get. My husband was prescribed Pantoprazole, which he took for 9 months before we discovered it causes scarring of the liver. Although Dr. Doo did not prescribe this for him, I would think or hope he would have seen during the endoscopy, that my husband's esophagus looked great and he did not actually NEED to be taking this medication that even the FDA warns, can cause serious problems if taken for longer than 6 weeks. He was drinking aloe vera juice daily and his esophagus always looked very good. My husband wound up with osteoporosis and shrank 2 inches in height, and I believe this has a lot to do with the fact that he was on the pantoprazole, which is known to cause osteoporosis, in addition to scarring of the liver, low iron / anemia, elevated blood sugar, and a host of other things. Thanks to alternative treatments, within about a year of his hospitalization, my husband was off every one of his 6 prescription medications, could kick my butt going up 5 flights of stairs (and I'm the runner, not him), and could run a mile in about a minute and a half with NO training. The man DOES NOT EXERCISE. I am really glad we did not listen to the doctors who said he'd need a transplant and would probably have to go on disability. In my opinion, a transplant is not the only option, and it should be considered as a last resort. I have spoken to many people with liver disease, and recently spoke to a woman who told me that her mother (who was NOT treated at CPMC) was given a liver that was actually a fatty liver and it made her condition WORSE. So not only was she now going to have to be on anti-rejection drugs for the rest of her life, but she has just been given a few months to live. By the way, her cirrhosis was caused by medications doctors had prescribed for her (Again, she was not treated at CPMC, this was outside California). There are MANY medications that are known to CAUSE CIRRHOSIS, so please consider it YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to look up the side effects of every single medication your doctor gives you! DO NOT expect doctors to warn you about all the side effects, because doctors SIMPLY WILL NOT DO THIS. I also do want to state for the record that, to CPMC's credit, from what I've heard, they do NOT do "live" liver donations. They are only accepted from cadavers. I like to think that this is because they want to be able to see and inspect the liver to make sure it's viable (re: the woman who got the fatty liver, her daughter told me they refused to do a biopsy beforehand to see if the liver was viable, before she got the transplant... I kid you not). So, I believe CPMC may be one of the better places to get a transplant IF you're going to have this done, at all, but I think there are FAR better options. There are several studies that show that there are supplements that are shown to reduce liver fibrosis... as a matter of fact, there are over a dozen of them. There are also two machines my husband used to greatly improve the blood flow in his liver.If you would like to know about these treatments, and see the documentation I have which backs this up, contact me through Yelp. Again, I don't have anything against Dr. Doo personally, he seemed like an OK doctor but I really wish more doctors would explore the benefits of alternative treatment. The body - including the liver - really does have the power to heal itself.
