I sent her an email, and received a response within 2 hours. This immediately impressed me, as I had been waiting for information from another salon for a week. Within 2 days, she had answered all of my questions and provided me with an exact price quote and an estimate as to how much time she would need to style me and my wedding party. I waited a few more days for info from the other salon (which i never received), and then went with Stephanie. She was fabulous!! I had a pretty good idea what I wanted done with my hair, but no idea about makeup. So we did a trial run about a week before, and with just a few questions, she completely captured the makeup look I was envisioning but couldn't put into words. On the big day, she arrived right on time, and proceeded to transform the six of us into beauty queens! From short, thin hair to very long, very thick hair, everyone's hair looked fabulous, and the makeup was absolutely stunning. Drawing extra strokes under and above the left eye but not right. She laid me back and touched it up a bit but told me it just needed healing. I do not recommend Shelley Chavez and her services. I wish I could give negative stars for this…read moreexperience. She is unprofessional and lacks communication skills that a business owner needs to have a successful business. I had gotten 2 or 3 brow waxes from her when the last one burned my skin pretty bad. I brought it up to her and she offered the next one free. Did not state a timeline or anything about when service had to be completed. I waited before re-booking because I was nervous about the same thing happening again. When I decided to rebook, she then did not respond. When I went to check her Instagram realized I was blocked. I have attached a photo of the burn from the service (a few days after, it was worse but did not think it was from the service as I have had my brows waxed for years which was why I waited to take a photo and send it to her). When I reached out about being blocked when owed a service (that SHE offered) she attacked me by saying I was harassing her and she didn't know why I was still contacting her. I didn't realize a text asking why I was blocked when owed a service was harassment? But definitely bad customer service to treat someone like this. I looked up her licensure on the NM regulation and licensure website as well as BBB and found no license information for her. There is a record of the establishment and a license issued June 23,2020 when I was serviced June 1, 2020 before her facility license was active (according to rld.state.nm.us). I am going to take this up with the state to see why there is no record of her and how she serviced me before the license was active. She refused to work with me & did not even try to do the right thing after harming my skin. I had kindly asked for a refund in which she blocked me instead of trying to have a conversation. Who knows if she is working without a license & when she performs a service that harms someone (in this case me) chooses to block them instead of making things right. I know that I was not out of line in my communication with her. There is nothing listed on her Instagram (as of November 11, 2020) that states any sort of timeline for free services or even her licensure. This may change after this review but I do not believe she has a license as I couldn't find her name and license information online. She has now blocked me on Instagram and my phone number. I think this shows her character as an "esthetician" and her lack of confidence with her services/company to block someone who did no wrong. (I'm attaching photos of her not responding/accusing me of harassment/blocking my number since the last text was not delivered). You can read my texts and see I was kind and respectful and simply asking a question for her to react like this.. I know she is recruiting people to write positive reviews and I do not doubt they have had good experiences. But I did not and was treated terribly for no reason and do not think my review should be discredited. If she treated me like this it's likely she could treat someone else this way as well.
