Shockingly poor service. We waited for a table for an hour. We got a seat at the bar, which was horribly under staffed and swarmed by bees. We managed to get one round of drinks in an hour. We ordered a second but the bartender who would not make them for us because the bar staff kept being stung by bees. They had three bartenders. Only one of them seemed to be doing anything, Ali. Sadly, she was not our server and she did get stung by a bee. Half of the tables were open the entire time we waited. They either did not have the servers or kitchen staff to accommodate the volume. After the terrible bar experience we left without eating. For a venue of this caliber I expected much more. There is obviously a management and insect problem that needs to be addressed. read more

My husband and I are on our honeymoon. We came to eat at Marker 88 for dinner. We both ordered the Key Lime Seafood. The presentation looked like it was just dropped onto the plate. There are a couple issues we had with it. The crab was barely even there, not even enough to count as a garnish. The lobster looked like it had been chewed up by a dog. The only saving grace of this meal was the butter and that the three shrimp were cooked well. The overall taste was very good, but not worth the $36 price. If you like meringue the key lime pie is for you, tho not much key lime flavor. We spent $100 on two tiny entrees, one soda, and one slice of pie. We were there for almost 2 and a half hours because our waiter disappeared. Honestly I would only recommend this place if you want to get a drink from the bar and watch the sunset on the bay. read more

Very long wait which is understandable during high season, BUT the hostesses were very rude and played games with seating on patio vs beach. After waiting an hour when there were tables open on the beach and on the patio they said we hadn't specified precisely where we wanted to sit so we could not sit on the beach. So they did not seat us on the beach despite then asking and seeing a few tables open. Now, the important details, the food is not good. Mahi sandwich is an incredibly small piece of fish and not cooked very well (covered about 1/4 of bun). The fries were not cooked enough and served cold. Marker 88 is a beautiful restaurant. It provides live music, sea view, and amazing on the go food. I got the cheeseburger in paradise, and enjoyed every bite. Because of this beach view, there is sand. So if you have children, I definitely recommend bringing sand toys! I hope you enjoy this restaurant as much as I did. read more

Another update (APRIL 28) Last night we had a wonderful experience with the only, and I mean only, problem was that the event was over to quickly. Our server (Adonis) was very attentive and friendly. When asked, he took our family photo and made us feel at home. Food was great too! Can't wait to come back again. Our reservation was for 7 and we were also able to catch a beautiful sunset. We reserved outdoor seating and were seated on a large patio, which would have been great but the table next to us contained a chain smoker which pretty much killed our evening. Hard to enjoy good food when your taste buds are saturated with cigarette smoke the whole time. Sure it was outside, but the minimal breeze carried the smoke right over to us. Why do places even allow smoking in dining areas anymore? Our waiter was pleasant but inexperienced. I was fine with him but some in our party required more attention than he was able to provide. The sunset was outstanding. There was live music, too. A guy with an acoustic guitar doing mostly covers but also a few originals; not too loud or too mellow. I was very happy with the music. Go for the view but not for the food. Food was average at best with small portions and high prices. Nice place and good service but Dinner plates just not worth it at all. Stick with maybe the Islamorada fish sandwich for about $16 and enjoy a sunset but don't waste your money taking the family for dinner after dark!!!! read more

This was my favorite place to eat when visiting the Keys, view still awesome and service was great out the quality of food was way below expectations especially for the price of $38 for a fish meal. My family and I ate here last night and were not impressed at all. The view was very nice but, the food was bland. Our server was Paul and he seemed very inconvenienced even to refill our drinks. The lobster bisque was very salty!! The chefs special with steak and shrimp was bland.. no salt or pepper. The Mahi was flattened and dry. Went on 06/21/2020. The waiting time of 25 mins was reasonable. We wait at the beach & they call me over the phone to let me know table is ready. The location is the unbeatable. To watch the sunset with a guy singing with his guitar was priceless. I order a virgin piña colada it was ok. Not so sweet. Calamaris were sooo good. Light on flour and fried with sriracha sauce and spicy mayo. The entrees not many options. I was expecting other things like some fresh fish tacos. We order the key lime butter (no tabasco) seafood with cilantro rice. I was expecting another thing. Way too much butter, wild rice (no cilantro rice) and the lobster was overcooked...get a hard time trying to cut it. I did not have chance to the the shrimps because at my second bite I found a curly hair on the rice. I called our waiter and he did not see the hair until I pulled it out from the food. My husband said his plate have no hair but was nothing special. I change it for fried mahi mahi with white wine sauce with fries. It was ok. Definitely we wont eat again. For some wine, beer and appetizer (calamaris) worth the visit to watch the sunset. I did not take pics of the food, but really enjoy our view! read more

You cannot beat the view or ambiance of this place. Tables are directly on beach with just amazing water views. We came for lunch, can only imagine what the sunsets must be like. Our food was good but definitely overpriced for the amount they give you. I paid $18 for fish sandwiches at lunchtime...should have been in the $12 range for the size. Four of us ate and with one marguerita, iced tea and soft drink, the bill was almost $100. The view is 5 stars, the food was more like a 3 or 4. read more

Came here for lunch after a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint! The ambience was incredible with spectacular views of the water and live music. We started out with the calamari appetizer which came with a sweet chili sauce that made for great flavor. For my meal, I had the Island Tropical Salad and it was delicious. Everyone else in our party also enjoyed their meals which included the Mahi fish sandwich, Cuban sandwich, and coconut shrimp. Next time I go I would definitely want to request sitting at one of the swinging tables by the water, but every table has a great view. I also have to compliment the servers on such a great job. It was a very hot day and they were running around to make sure everyone had great service. The location is absolutely beautiful, we came at night for the first time. Business was pretty slow but we had a personal live musician. Our waiter was new and very friendly he did well. Upon looking at the menu to me it was selective defiantly not what we saw online but we went with it. We ordered the crab cake for appetizer and shared the onion crusted mahi mahi with a side of cilantro lime rice. Upon getting the crab cake it was one cake for $20 it had no flavor had to squeeze a bunch of lemon on it for flavor, tasted like it came out of can. I definitely know the difference since I live on the water. We thought for sure that the onion crusted mahi mahi would be a lot better. But it was also very blane. Very disappointed due to paying 30$ for that plate. It was a slow night as I mentioned so it should have been cooked to perfection for those prices. So if you're looking to just go and see how wonderful these places you can, I would just recommend having a drink only. read more

Be aware there's construction going on in the middle of the restaurant, so "lunch with great views" changed to "lunch listening to pipes being cut". Was pretty bad. Wonderful place. Outside seating along the waterfront, enjoyable live music (guitar), friendly waiters. Service is sometimes a little slow, but that's understandable due to how crowded and busy it gets. Service is really quick if you go earlier in the evening. I went on a Monday around 1130am after doing some business in the area. Great view! Nice canopy looking tables right by the water. Had a lightly battered hog fish with a crab cake on top with béarnaise sauce. Served along with island black bean and rice style side. The lunch meal was very filling and I was so glad I didn't order any appetizers. Had a cocktail, it was a Piña colada with other tropical fruits. Not to shabby on the prices considering the other places I been to in the upper Keys that have Oceanside seating. I regret no getting the waiters name to mention how attentive he was also considering he was new he did a fabulous job. Marker 88 is a gem in the Florida Keys. It serves excellent food, the service is excellent and the sunset views are priceless. Their location serves as a magnificent backdrop for a quiet dinner or a louder lunch crowd. The prices are a bit steep I my opinion but when coupled with the view overlooking the water it makes the prices a lot more palatable. Can't wait to go down to the Keys again so I can enjoy another meal there. read more
