This market is giving Whole Foods mixed with Trader Joe's mixed with Mother's. I just moved here from Cali, so still getting used to things. I've been in probably 5 times so far. One thing I noticed is that there is rarely a person at the bakery during their open hours. I was able to pick up small cakes the first day but everyday after that, zero luck. I even walked to other counters to see if they knew how I could get pastries and I was told the person would be right back. Well, I walked in, no one was there. I shopped for an hour and 20 min and circled around.... Still no one was there. I checked out and walked past the bakery and no one was there. Make it make sense. Other than that, things seem organized and clean. The meat I have purchased was fresh. Would just really love to pick up some pastries when I stop in. Smh. read more

Calliope had Mac n Cheese and Tony had an Italian Sub! He had PBR, baby enjoyed her Ice Water, Noki drank some Mt Dew & I had Iced Tea! My son lives up north and this is his hands-down favorite grocery store! When he asks his stepson where he wants to get dinner, granted he is 11, he chooses Market 32 every time!! he said the only place that has better chicken fingers and mac & cheese than my son is Market 32! I always go here when I visit and bring my husband back some real good capicola and grab some Sopresseta for me! This is a fantastic place to shop, and they have just about everything you could need. Quick service back at the deli no matter how busy they are. The store is always clean and well kept and organized. He and his family are moving soon and I know how much they will miss their biweekly trips to Market 32!!! read more

So much to love about Market 32! The breads in the bakery are the best! My favorite is the cranberry nut, but the multigrain is a winner too. Actually, you can't go wrong! I usually buy what is on sale! The produce department is beautifully arranged, with an excellent selection of organic fruits and vegetables. Probably the Best Buy in the store is the fried chicken. 8 pieces for around $5. It is a little greasy but honestly that makes it super yummy. This grocery store is fantastic! They have everything anyone needs from a market like loads of fresh vegetables. Fruits, a bakery with artisan breads, flowers, cheeses, yogurts and other dairy products, drinks, meats and also prepared foods. There is a Starbucks within the grocery store. It is organized in an easy to find things fashion. There are loads of checkout counters. It is better than Publix in the South and even Trader Joe's. Shopping was truly a pleasure here. read more

I have to update my previous review...to be honest it may be more of a gripe with the instacart there but it is associated. What a horrible Experience. I ordered after taking lots of time to get my cart exactly they way I wanted. Got a pickup between 6-7pm...my mom showed up at 7 and they had no order...didn't even realize there was an order placed. My mom had to then shop herself (something I didn't want because she is a senior)(note:I just had knee surgery and couldn't go myself). And her phone ran out of battery so she didn't even have my list. I even tried to order again...they have shoppers only a few days a week. We were regular, satisfied, customers when this location first became a Market 32. Then came the pandemic, yada yada yada... today was our first visit in a while. Upon entering, carts were readily available by the door, the store appeared to be reasonably clean with shelves and cases well stocked. Produce looked acceptable for winter in the northeast and, though the selection was somewhat limited, variety remained good. The fish department offered great variety which was nicely presented; it seemed that the butcher/meat department had been hit hard by shoppers. Deli section was overflowing with delicious choices, the bread and baked items looked scrumptious as always, and the cooked/smoked foods smelled quite appealing to us. And that's when it all took a turn. Just as I was suggesting we pick up something to snack on in the car, the guy preparing sushi coughed, hocked up a loogie, pulled down his mask and spit on the floor. Next, he looked directly at me while wiping his mouth with his hand, replaced his mask and continued to prepare raw and uncooked food not using gloves. Yuck. Pretty much overshadowed everything up to that point and any appetite we has for a snack had vanished. To be instacart shopper,This store is terrible! Their front end always have their own policy! And It's really depends which cashier you have! Some cashier tell me, they have put the store card in when i shopping for customer if the customer doesn't have one, They told me the instacart shopper have their right to have the sale price! Ok, that's sounds good to me! But! Some cashier tole me,if the customer doesn't have a store card, They won't use a store card, Cause the customer asked me if i could ask use a store card, So i asked if they can scan my card for the customer have sale price, the answer is No! And i also asked if they can scan the general man's card behind me in the line! And the cashier told me No,! It's their policy! Seriously? This is a beautiful an unbelievable market similar to Whole Foods but not as expensive it's owned by price chopper it's their high-end store I recommend you come shopping here they have an amazing bakery a sushi bar a café humongous organic section fish meat anything you could think of large organic section. They even have free Wi-Fi which I'm writing this review on. Really a beautiful market and it's a pleasure to shop here! read more

Similar to a Whole Foods, however more reasonable pricing. Excellent selection of foods (meats, vegetables, fruits, sushi, desserts, etc). There are also pre-made meals that you can eat there or take home to eat (soups, salads, sushi, and more). There were several sampling stations around the store which are nice when you're looking to try out new items. Be careful that you don't grab to many of those sample items to purchase though. Employees were friendly and helpful when I ask for help with a few items and during checkout. read more

I am a fan but charging $1 for a $5 cashback is absurd. You do realize most of your competition does not have a surcharge or fee for cash back? It's little things like this that turn off customers. read more

I do like this place but the last couple times I visited for lunch the service has been shaky. Today I waited a good 6-8 minutes for someone to take my order and when I did get my order the attendant went right to someone else to make a salad. She knew there was nobody on the register and after about 3 minutes of standing there, at least 4 workers walking past me a man stocking produce saw me and came over and rung up my Order. He knew I was pissed. I came really close to walking out I understand it's the holiday season but please bring in more help if you need it. read more

The store was clean and well stocked but it seemed odd that the isle signs were hung so that you could not read them until you got right to the isle ... so to find coffee I had to walk the length of the whole store ... the isle 1 sign is visible from anywhere... the rest should be hung like that sign This makes this store difficult to find your items if your not a regular customer ... not a fan read more

Okay here's the explanation for the two star rating. While the selection and quality of the inventory is quite good, and while an exceptional bakery, seafood department, and gourmet cheese section put them a cut above the rest of the grocery stores in Pittsfield, I for one can no longer justify the ridiculous lines that you are forced to wait on to check out. The lines snake down each aisle, 8-10 carts or more queued up. I was on a self checkout line today for 40 minutes. As I (eventually) got within eyeshot of the Holy Grail, I realized that two of the four checkout machines were out of service. Really?? Other checkouts were dark which further added to the chaos. On a Sunday with lines reaching back almost to the meat department. Though this was the most egregious wait, the last several times I came to this store the lines were also daunting. No more will I subject myself to this torture. Until Aldi reopens I will be shopping at Big Y or BJ's. NO grocery store is worth waiting this long to check out. read more

This has always been my "go to" market in Pittsfield but it's really going down hill in several ways. It's, more often than not, dirty. The deli is often understaffed (waited 12 minutes recently because only one staff member was behind the counter but I have to acknowledge he was very courteous). The bakery staff usually look and behave like they really don't like customers. I've always found pricing here to be the most reasonable across the city but these service issues may just force me to consider the alternatives. read more

We stopped there for a quick bite to eat on the night of the 14 th. The place is quite beautiful, and the food was good. The upkeep was nothing but disgusting. It smelled like cow manure when we walked in, it wasn't just us, person after person walked in and looked at the bottom of their shoes. The cases were really dirty didn't look like the glass had been washed all day. The fruit flies were everywhere! And every, I mean every place to sit and eat was dirty, tables, the floor, garbage everywhere. Watched two employees leave the women's room without washing their hands. read more

The assortment of fresh produce, meats and fish plus gorgeous flowers, hot foods, pastries and more is really fantastic. And, everyone who works there is incredibly helpful and friendly. I am rating Market 32 a 5 because of their customer service and fresh foods. We've experienced several glitches - as one might expect when a store remodels and reconfigures their aisles and food locations. Yet, every time we run into a problem, we've mentioned it to a manager and have been helped. Today, when my husband returned home with the wrong item - because of a clerk's error - we called and spoke to the manager. He was understanding and apologized. He even arranged for us to pick up a gift card for $10.00 when we come in tomorrow! There have been several other instances when various managers have helped us in this store. We plan to stay loyal customers because of the people who work there as well as the quality of food always available. read more

I don't recommend ordering a cake from this place. The people in the bakery department are so stupid. 4 out of 5 times we've ordered something it was wrong. For my birthday, my family ordered a vanilla cake because I'm allergic to chocolate. Well guess what. After the cake was cut we found out it was chocolate. I couldn't have any of my birthday cake. Have been spending our summers in the Berkshires for now almost 17 years. They were Price Shoppers...and not bad, then they changed to Market 32 a few years ago. All products were good, always a treat. But as I return this summer to our Berkshire cottage, their beef products seem to be taking a toll. Twice now I have purchased a nice steak...the last one 11..99 for one steak and today sale on T-bones...so only $6.50 for one steak. Got to say....both were dried out, seemed old - not fresh. Am cooking them same way as always....wondering if they are putting cheaper pieces of meat on the counters. Have always been a fan, especially when they updated from Price Choppers t o Market 32. Their quality on everything...steaks, lobsters and all seafood has always been good. Not sure now. Please keep up your good quality. Not going to purchase steaks anymore....will try their lobsters.
