All the major departments - produce, meat, seafood, dairy, were stocked almost to overflowing, with good regular and sale prices displayed prominently. The store is brightly lit and the aisles are wide. There are 2 self-checkouts. The employees here are really friendly and chatty. If it ever expands (and if it does well, it should be considered), add some more hot food stations and a salad bar.

Now, onto the main reason for my review: I'd heard great things about their fish and chips and had to try it. For around $13.99 plus tax, I received two large pieces of perfectly fried, steaming hot white fish, served over a bed of lukewarm fries. It came with a small side of coleslaw and tartar sauce--a solid deal. I also found out you can upgrade to onion rings at no extra charge (wish I'd spotted that option before ordering!). The gentleman who cooked up my meal was super nice and helpful. They offer a small dining area near the store's entrance where you can enjoy any of their ready-to-eat meals. While the space is basic, a staff member was keeping the tables clean between guests. Eating fish there did make me feel a bit self-conscious, as it filled the area with its aroma. Overall, I'd order the fish and chips again but I would probably ask to have them put a piece of 'wax paper' between the fish and fries.

One of the things I appreciate about Hannaford in Hudson N. Y. is that in the aisles where ethnic foods are sold you have a separate designation for Hispanic and Italian goods, which is correct. Italians, as are the Portuguese, Catalonians, French, and yes Romanians, are all Latin cultures. Thank you very much, it is greatly appreciated.
