Country ham salty and perfect bite. Pairs well with with potatos. Alaina's Coffee refills perfectly timed perfectly. Market @ Main, Wards Rd is slowly becoming my new breakfast favorite place mainly because of its proximity to where I usually go. The wait staff is excellent! The food is always at your table within 5 to 7 minutes of ordering! I typically order custom omelette, toasted muffin and orange juice! My only complaint is the orange juice is from concentrate and not fresh like most other breakfast joints. The food is delicious and highly recommended if you are looking for tasty healthy American Breakfast!! I'm definitely going back & taking friends and associates with me! read more

Market At Main - Wards - This says it ALL!!! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Lynchburg, Virginia

We ate here twice on a recent trip to Lynchburg the week following Thanksgiving 2025. While visiting family in Forest, VA, we had the pleasure of breakfast not once, but twice, at Market at Main Wards in Lynchburg. Our first morning I had been up WAY and had already eaten an ok breakfast burrito at a local Sheets while charging our Mach E, (come on Lynchburg you need some more EV charging stations as they are packed with wait lines) so he only had a Jefferson Street Cinnamon Roll, which was quite reasonably sized , very tasty with a balanced cinnamon spice. The late sleeper had a Boonsboro Biscuit with scrambled egg, sausage and cheddar on a biscuit. Biscuit was tasty and flaky, egg was fine, cheddar was fine - but it took a while to get to the sausage patty. It was a bit small for the biscuit! and not as porky as hoped for. The next morning we breakfasted with family before leaving town, and late sleeper had a fine slice of Queena Stovall quiche with a side of lovely fruit (where did they find such yummy strawberries in November?!?), and early riser had two eggs over easy, country ham, and toast, all nicely done. A good find over all. The house cup of Joe was pretty decent coffee, actually very good coffee. The atmosphere is clean and modern. read more

My wife and I had breakfast here this morning and everything for the most part was great. I had the main event plate breakfast and she got the stuffed French toast. The only thing we would have to critique was the temperature of the sides my cheese grits while delicious were luke warm at best and her side of potatoes were the same. So overall I think for the price the meal wasn't worth it and this is why. My ice coffee and fried green tomatoes were hardly edible. The ice coffee was overly sweet and thick and the tomatoes were super soggy. Also I hate useless lettuce garnish under fried food if just gets it all oily and gross. The bread was slightly burnt on my chicken salad however it tasted okay, but the chicken salad was really warm. French onion soup was fine. My boyfriend had the French toast and said it was okay. Again it was fine which would be fine if the price matched. Service was excellent and so was ambiance so that brings in the two star rating, but this is somewhere we would come back too when there so many other affordable better options in the area. We really really wanted to like this place since it's so close and had solid options to choose from but we feel like the food just wasn't up to par. read more

We were sat immediately and got our order taken but then it took one out and fifteen minutes to get our food. The table next to us got there before us and got their food when we did. My partner ordered a ham egg and cheese biscuit and it came with no ham. We told them and they said the kitchen is backed up. The people next to us got the wearing proteins and they said they could give it to them to go. They ended up leaving about it 15 minutes later without it and we left as well without the ham. When we travel four times a year from North Carolina to Staunton, Virginia, Market At Main - Wards always makes for a great stop for us.. The staff is welcoming, the ambiance is pleasant, and food is really tasty. Among the very good choices are the Ruebens, the White Rock Panini, the Spinach Salad and Seven Hills salad. Yikes is the only thing I can say about this location. Sadly, it was my first time eating at ANY of their locations. Wards Rd. Location was BEYOND disappointing. Coarse, black hair in my friend's bowl of grits... right on top. We saw it before she even set it on the table. I asked for an omelette with just ham, extra cheese and onions. It comes out without onions and spinach that I did not order in it. Yes. The server was quick to get it replaced with fresh, however when my new omelette came out, there was no extra cheese and still no onion. She came back and asked if I wanted a water refill, I said yes. My friend asked for another mimosa and a glass of water, well, she comes back with her water and mimosa and no water for me. At this point, I'm beyond over this location. I ended up eating all of my meal. It was good for what was served, but it wasn't what I ordered. My friend and I spent MANY years in the restaurant industry many moons ago, and it just seems that the attention to detail between the front and back of house staff has declined in a lot of the new restaurants in this area. I typically give a location another chance, but it was just too much and it all happened in my first, and most likely, LAST visit to this location. Terrible. Don't even bother going to this location. Just go to the one downtown. Our food was terrible; not to mention it had a black hair RIGHT ON TOP of my grits, so why she even brought it to the table like that, I'm not sure. My friend ordered a ham cheese and onion omelette, and it had the whole garden of veggies in it. My mimosa did not have even the slightest bit of carbonation, so did it even have sparking wine in it??!! Not again. Just no. read more

Very good food. Too much to choose from on menu. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Great value for the money. A must to try when in the area!
