Renamed after Covid, this place has a long 70+ years of family history. They were very accommodating with the menu choices. I sat in the bar area, which was far enough away from the huge children's play room to not even know it was there! (No offense to parents, who I'm sure would really enjoy having a full-sized game area for parties.) The food was awesome. (I got the pictured lunch portion chicken Alfredo that was grandma's homemade recipe.) This is a must for anyone traveling on the 5 going to or coming from Shasta/Oregon! They gave us THREE chicken tenders; they were out of coleslaw, and the fries were lukewarm, at best.  I then asked for fresh fries, and she gave me back fries that were just as lukewarm as the previous bag.  The biscuits were cold and dry, no honey or butter was offered, and I was asked if I wanted sauce while ordering, told them yes, gave them my preference, and when I got home, there was no sauce AT ALL. I guess Leo Goetz was right!  No wonder George Carlin prayed to Joe Pesci! We paid something like fourteen dollars for a crappy meal.  And what was worse was that there was only one customer inside and one ahead of me in the drive thru.  It wasn't like they were getting slammed.  And this was dinnertime!  Unless they get new management in there, I am NOT going back. I should have gone to Jack in the Box instead!

I 'm not big into the mead deal thing, I just want chicken. I go for the 8 piece box o chicken. I gotta say the chicken here at Popeye's is more expensive than if I just went to the supermarket and got the 8 piece fried chicken there, but what the hell, I'm here now and it is a different flavor. But apart from the wonderful hosts, the Pizza was the best Pizza we have found in Shasta County, and we have tried them all. We live in Redding, but when we crave Pizza, we drive to Anderson. I know, there are Shasta Pizza shops in Redding and when we have wanted delivery in the past we have used the one on Victor Ave, but after ordering our favorite pizza (Garlic Chicken) at this shop we were amazed at how much better it was. Unfortunately we were out of there delivery territory (12 miles away) so we had to go pick it up. We called in, and ordered two of the Saturday special which was a one topping XL pizza. Then, we added double pep. We also ordered the garlic twists and pesto twists. Our total was about $70, which isn't bad for the amount of food we got! I enjoyed that their pizza sauce had a little bit of spice to it. Everything tasted great. We fed 6 adults and two kids, and still had 3/4 of a pizza plus some twists leftover. We visit regularly, and will be ordering from them next time we want pizza in this area!
