My 85 year old mom needed new shoes. I looked at the website and emailed the store, they pulled the shoes she would be interested in before we got there. They were so sweet fitting her, were good at seeing which would be easy to put on and not, and helped me be sure with her alzhimers that the fit was good. They found a really good shoe that wasn't even one that we had considered. As she went through answering my ??s so carefully, clarifying terms-- SB, vegan evo.. and more I realized that this lovely person was 10 minutes from closing- her kindness and complete, careful attention to my ??s is highly commendable. I am revising my rating based upon correspondence and a revisit although the original review will remain for clarity and transparency. I received a DM from the owner Ryan who wanted to address my concerns regarding my original visit. First off, how often to Yelpers get a personal reply? Rarely. So an immediate uptick in customer relations in my book. Ryan expressed one of the core values of "humbly be of service" is a pillar in staff expectation. Another positive step towards building and maintaining merchant-customer relationships. Receiving Ryan's humble reply and apology was authentic and expressed core values that Ballard merchants I have been known for years . (My family set roots in Ballard in 1904) I advised Ryan that I would give it another try and come in on Saturday to shop. I decided to go today, Friday. I show up and asked a salesperson named Brianna if she had the Hoka Goretex in Sz11. A few minutes later Brianna appears with 4 boxes. She had a few other recommendations to offer. Being an early fan of Hoka, I just took the one pair. But the point I want to make is that Brianna overdelivered in customer service. Overdeliver is a good word and important core value. We finished the sale and Brianna took my number for when the Winter Birks come in. Outstanding! Hat tip to Kelsey who I believe was the manager and provided some details on when the new Birks may come in. Again, follow up and clarification. Good stuff! Given the challenges merchants on Market Street in Ballard are facing, I am so pleased to be able to patronize a place that understands old Ballard values. Lastly, the selection of Hokas are comparable to any other local retailer in the area. Win-WIn! Went to buy a pair of Hokas. Me: "I imagine you have these in a size 11? Salesperson: "Maybe, we sell these all the time". No offer to check to try to make a $155 sale. I agree with Dawn's review. Poor customer service and not a 'always be closing person". This was the second time I got the Arc Teryx freeze. Note to owner: just because I am an old guy and very unhipster looking doesn't mean you forgo a sale. read more

Market Street Shoes - Just what I wanted just what I got. - Shoe Stores Near Me - Seattle, Washington

First, this store has some of the best customer service in Seattle, and a great selection of fashion-forward comfort shoes. The reason I'm not giving five stars is because they really need to carry more women's brands with wider toe boxes. Not everyone can wear Dansko or Birkenstocks so I wish they'd carry alternative brands for wider feet. For example, they could carry more styles in Naturalizer instead of just one or two styles. Also, many of the brands are in European sizes that don't carry half sizes. They say that the size 10 (European) is the 10 - 10.5 range but that isn't true at all. Most European sizes tend to run smaller and more narrow. To sum up, Market Street Shoes have great customer service and a big selection of comfort shoes, but they need to carry more wide sizes/styles for women, and also carry half sizes because most people have one foot that is a little longer than the other. If I'm paying a lot of money for shoes, I'd prefer to walk out of the store with a pair that is comfortable right out of the box. read more

I had a wonderful time here! I went in knowing I needed new work shoes but not too sure what to go for and Lisa was wonderful. She helped me try on like 15 pairs of shoes and made sure I understood all aspects of the different styles. Such a fun and friendly shop! Great store and merchandise. I appreciated the time and attention from their staff. However I have a couple of comments. One, at the time I'm checking out, I had to asked the cashier how much was the final payment before I consent the transaction. They don't have that lovely extra screen for customers to watch for their transaction. With the crazy inflation we need to be extra vigilant. Second, I'm pretty confused of why this store is including sale tax to the Volks Walkers. I have purchased at Romax Shoes near Pike Place and I never had to pay for sale tax for European shoes. This is an observation and I wish I noticed this before leaving the store. Again, that extra screen/monitor would be super helpful. read more

The salespeople here are super helpful. Came in here a few months ago looking for stylish but walkable shoes. The sales lady, I think her name was Jennifer, brought out a bunch of shoes and low boots for me to try on. She was very patient and knowledgeable. I decided on this pair of blue suede shoes (don't you step on them!) by Samuel Hubbard. They're great. With Vibram soles, I can walk in these for a long time. I bought a beautiful pair of Italian made, ruby red, steam punk looking beauties (could barely afford them) 15 years ago when they were located across the street from their current location. I still get compliments on those shoes as if I were the cobbler that made them. They have a great collection of clothing too. Toad & Co, Smartwool - soft and beautiful sweaters as well as socks that wick away moisture and keep your feet warm without being bulky. Also the brand Effie's Heart which has more of a fun, vintage look. In my next life when I'm not a middle aged accountant without a sense of whimsy I'll be wearing the Effie stuff ;-} A shout out to Ruby who helped me this morning. She understood that good customer service is being helpful without being overbearing. It's a fine balance and I've never experienced otherwise at Market Street Shoes. read more

Service was excellent. Thank you Sarah for your patience and presence. I'm used to people coming out and saying no we don't have that but instead she came out with boxes on boxes. Sure it's for a sale, but it was an honest sale. She really tried to get me something that I liked and made arrangements with the other store to keep the size I need on hold for an exchange. She even took into consideration what I was after and picked a pair of shoes that weren't displayed, which I ended up loving and buying! That's the kind of service you expect when your buying expensive products. Not to mention, I was greeted the second I walked in and over heard other employees with the genuine approach as well. The selection is good, with difficult-to-find brands and shoe designs such as Pikolinos (from Spain) and Olukai (Hawaii). The customer service is decent: friendly and fairly helpful, but not quite at the high level of making you feel pampered. They are well-staffed, with 3 employees on duty, so there's not much waiting involved. Prices are on the higher side, but they do have a buy 12 program where you can get a $25 gift card after purchasing 12 significant items. This is a fun, bustling area of town with many shops/eateries to visit, but parking can be slightly challenging. read more

They have excellent style selections and my shoes are so comfortable and still look great! I had a pair of shoes crack and a year later, they accepted them back and gave me a new pair!! While I realize it is the shoe maker brand's policy to accept returns, this team reminded me of the warranty. Awesome. I went in expecting to just look as I have weird feet to go along with my weird knee. The woman helping me knew their stock and brands well enough to steer me towards shoes and boots that might actually fit. I ended up with a pair of boots and a pair of shoes that fit extremely well! I LURVE SHOES! Unfortunately, I have foot issues. I was cursed with wide, big feet, which usually means I am relegated to wearing ugly non-feminine shoes. Does a lot for my self-confidence, which alcohol and a low-cut shirt can help with. I kept seeing these absolutely gorgeous John fluevog heels in the window of Market street shoes. Breathtaking. Pointy toe, low vamp, high-heeled, super sexpot shoes. The kind which I could never fit my big feets into. I wanted them so bad I could taste them, and they tasted great. So my Birthday arrives, and my husband says he's taking me shoe shopping. Market street it is! They have the shoes, in my size and- gasp! They fit! I'll be honest, the right was a bit tight in the toe box. They offered to stretch the shoe for me, so that I could wear them out to my bithday dinner.
