This store is located in busy area of Seattle downtown near the Pike Street. On the first floor entrance they only have some sunglasses on display in a tiny space, but once we took the escalator to lower level the space was huge. There were several sections for men's, women's, kid's apparels, shoes, accessories like bags, totes, suitcases, home goods, jewelry and so many more stuff. The store was mostly tidy. Some sections were messy due to customers trying them out and leaving items on the floor. There were plenty of good deals and prices available all around the store. I can to the store to find a duffle bag for our extra stuff. I found a good one in the luggage area for a reasonable price. I also had a $10 discount coupon available for my birthday month. Staff member at the register was friendly. She quickly proceeded the checkout. Overall we were happy with the shopping experience here, but they can certainly improve on appearance and lighting of the store. read more

I ran in to find lipgloss and picked up a MAC trio for $35. Celeste was kind of slow to respond but did unlock the cabinet and walk the glosses to the register. Long queues here, so come with your patience intact. I popped in looking for fleece for a trip to a colder climate (early April), but there was no dedicated section for outerwear at this point. That was a little frustrating (I ended up having to go to REI), but, I was able to easily find a tank top to wear around Seattle -- because there was some extreme heat going on whilst I was visiting. In general, the store is very crowded with product, in my opinion. There's too much product and not enough space for it to be actually shoppable. Unfortunately my mom and I had a terrible experience with the person working in the fitting rooms near the mens section. They told my mom that she would "get away with it this time" in a very sassy tone for not being able to put all of the clothes back on the hangers. No one this rude should be working in customer service. She also proceeded to be petty and butt in on a private conversation with my mom after she gave her dressing room up early before she was done. The employees are courteous and helpful and I have made a number of purchases of great quality items here. I used to have great luck at nordy's rack, especially with size 41/2 shoes. That like many things are gone. Almost no petite sizes. Basically everything that doesn't sell well at the main store ends up here. Bras and panties can be a good buy if you can find your size and know enough information on your own about the different types of bras. It's a bit of a mess these days. Missing the junior section with classic A line skirts that a small senior could wear with a nice jacket and no one would know it was a skirt for juniors. read more

I mean, you don't get the same cleanliness and merchandise as Nordstrom's, however most people know what to expect when you come to the rack. You get clothes that are not quite as well made, with the same brand name. The Look every it is nice as something you would get from Nordstrom's and the price is great! I always love to browse at various Nordie Racks when I travel. This location is in the downtown area, and it shares a building for public transit. There were a few homeless people throughout the store, the manager was trying his best to manage all of it, but it is clear that higher level management needs to provide this location with more security, especially since the flagship Nordies is literally across the street, and has an entirely different vibe. Overall, the selection was pretty good, lots of customers shopping around, but just be aware of your surroundings at this location. read more

I don't usually do reviews on retail stores, and this feels silly BUT this one was memorable. My fiancé and I were visiting from out of state and stopped in for an umbrella. Everyone was very friendly. The security guard Mike actually ended up helping us out and we ended up chatting. He gave us tips on where to visit and eat in the city and was so kind and helpful. I was in the other day and bought an amazing Kate Spade bag, which I love. The staff here is very helpful. My only complaints are the parking which sucks and the location, it's downstairs and there are always screaming kids running around this store which is super annoying. I usually go to the Northgate location for the ease of parking (free parking!). However, this Seattle downtown location is the best Nordstrom Rack store I've ever shopped at. The downtown store seems a bit larger and has more merchandize than other locations. What really sets this location apart from other stores is the organization. Most Rack locations do fair to good job keep their merchandise organized. The downtown store seems to do an exceptional job. Not only shirts and shoes but also suits are organized by the size. Of course, parking is an issue. There's no such thing as free parking in downtown Seattle. So, I would not drive out there just to shop here. Other than parking, this is an excellent store! I was excited to visit Nordstrom Rack after I heard all the hype from my friends, etc. Oh, you gotta go check it out, etc.! they told me. Well, I was LESS than impressed. First of all, the store is very disorganized and out of control. Secondly, the associated were not friendly at all. You could not find an associate and then when you did, they all acted like they were too busy to help you. I asked one associate if they had plus sizes, and she said, "yeah, somewhere, you will have to look." I asked her if she could assist me in finding them, and she told me no, she had other things to do. So that made me furious. So much for "customer service" that Nordstrom seems to promise. I am only giving two stars because I did score a really cute dress that I love and a shirt that is cute. My checkout experience at the register was less than pleasing as well. The girl seemed totally burned out. Nordstrom, you need to find a way to boost morale or something. Visited the new Nordstrom Rack at Westlake Center yesterday. It opened just two days ago replacing the multi-level location on 2nd Avenue. The whole store is located in the basement level at Westlake. There appear to be several access points. You can enter from the Metro tunnel entrance into Westlake or take the escalator down from the street level. It was mad crazy with bargain hunting fashionistas everywhere. In addition to the store just being on one floor, they have done away with the shoe window. Hence a large part of the store is set aside for the shoe section, in which the shoes on the sales floor are shown with both shoes in their original box. You also don't have to wait in line anymore. Some of the employees are equipped to ring you up with mobile checkout devices ala Apple Store. The ambiance of the store is okay. I do think the ceilings seem a bit low and definitely like you are shopping in a basement. I tried on a couple things in the men's fitting room and it was really messy. Noticed several needles on the carpet so watch where you are stepping. I really hope this Nordstrom Rack does not become a pigsty given the heavy foot traffic. Product selection here was decent and comparable to the Factoria location that I most frequent. Although it seems illogical to have a Nordstrom Rack and Nordstrom across the street from each other, I do like the convenience. You don't even need to cross the street to get to the other store. Just exit through the Metro tunnel entrance to head over. If you are looking for designer fashion at discounted prices, visiting Nordstrom Rack after stopping by the flagship Nordstrom is a no brainer. read more

I actually liked the old layout better when it was closer to Pike Place - the store felt more open there. Here, in its new location, Nordstrom Rack is located in the basement level of Westlake Center. This layout is very similar to the NR in Union Square, New York City, and it feels cramped. Also, the 3G/4G signal downstairs is kind of weak for me. Everything is on one level now and there are no more shoe attendant windows. I am slightly disappointed by the labels that they have for sale here - the super high end ones (Jason Wu, Burberry, Chloe, etc.) are really a mess, and most of the clothes from these labels are really ugly and/or super large sizes, not to mention also still outrageously expensive ($200-$500+). They just kind of throw all the items together in small racks. I guess the volume of those items is low, but it still looks really messy. I recently struck gold though, and got a St. John's sequined top for $90 (normally going for $500) and a Tory Burch silk blouse for $60 (normally going for $300), but these finds are generally rare. There are some larger racks that feature items of the same brand (Michael Kors, Haute Hippie, BCBG, Catherine Malandrino, etc.). Theory pants are still like $90, BCBG tops are still around $40-$60, Malandrino dresses are still around $140, etc. A few sale racks are sprinkled here and there but pickings seem slim. I think the shoe section is pretty cool. They have a lot of brands here (Steve Madden, Vince Camuto, Coach, Cole Haan, Kenneth Cole, etc.) organized by size, for both men and women. They even have size 4 for the really small feet. read more

I called to see if I could do a price adjustment and apparently Nordstrom doesn't do price adjustments anymore. I asked if there was anything they could do and they said no. I Feel ripped off and that I wasn't listened to at all. Nordstrom's customer service has gone down hill. I have shopped at Nordstrom/Nordstrom rack for years because I loved their customer service and felt like I could trust the company. A lot of stuffs are on the floor scattered. However I always manage to find something I wanna buy here. A line for checkout is always long but it goes relatively fast so do not be intimidated. My hands are still shaking as I am writing this. At 4:52 PM today, I purchased a jean jacket at Nordstrom Rack in downtown. As I was putting the new jacket in my bag, I must have forgotten my wallet. As I was walking out the door, I realized I did not have my wallet with me. After I checked my bag several times inside out and all my pockets, I ran back to the same cashier. It was a little after 5 PM. I first talked to the same cashier. He said he remembered me but "DID NOT SEE IT". He called the lost and found department a couple of times and said he would go check out the lost and found box in person. But there were so many people in line, and everybody seemed busy, including the cashier who helped me with my purchase. I ended up talking to another staff on the floor and had him check the lost and found box, but no luck. By this time, it seemed too strange to just leave. Where could it be? I was literally gone for five minutes. I asked another staff to see if she could check the lost and found box, but she came up with a better idea; LET'S CHECK THE CAMERA. I showed her my receipt and confirmed the time of my purchase. She said it would take 10 min. I said I did not mind waiting. By then, it was 5:25 PM. I already waited more than 20 min looking for my wallet. After less than 10 min, she showed up again, but passed by me and went directly to the first cashier. She said she checked the camera and asked him if he really hadn't seen the wallet. And, she started looking around his station. Right then, the first cashier, who claimed that he did not see my wallet the whole time, suddenly pulled my wallet out of his apron pocket. Unbelievable. Should I call the police? read more

Oh Nordstrom rack, how I love, but sometimes only sort of like thee. Growing up, I remember coming over here in finding send testing deals on all sorts of clothing and accessories that I felt like I needed. Anymore, the selection is OK, but the prices are what I would expect to pay just about anywhere else. I realize the caliber of some articles of clothing is far above normal, however I'm not super interested in paying $300 for a pair of pants, despite the fact they cost $800 originally More recently, the most disappointing thing was finding Nike and under armor dry fit shirts that were supposedly on sale, but still ran between 35 and $50. It's a bit of a bummer to be able to Google the shirt and immediately find something for significantly less online. I understand that you have to make that coin, and I wish I was able to supply that coin, But alas your coin is too expensive. It begins to feel a bit like somebody who wishes they had invested in bitcoin much earlier - I love the products, but they're just too rich for my blood. If I'm honest with myself, almost assuredly be back. You're one of those places that anymore, I rarely find something that I need, but I secretly hope I find something I want. I have to admit... I'm a HUGE Nordstrom fan, but I've never liked my experiences in any Nordstrom Rack I've shopped in. And I think it's because what I love about Nordstrom (amazing customer service, clean/organized/ fun shopping environments) are no where to be found at Nordstrom Rack. Instead of bright and airy spaces, you're shopping in a dark, dingy basement with dirty floors and bare minimum upkeep. Rather than browsing organized racks of hand-picked, relevant items, you're tearing your way through globs of tangled straps and hangers looking for something even closely resembling your size. And at this location especially, the blend of tourists in the massive shopping crowds here typically means items are flung on the floor and not much care is given to the items in the store. Speaking of crowds, they're always massive at Nordstrom Rack. It's the kind of shopping experience where you can't look at anything without being in someone else's way. And customer service? It's like the polar opposite of Nordstrom here, if I'm being honest. I'm all about a good deal, but I've never believed you should have to have a shitty shopping experience to snag one. And customers shouldn't be subjected to that kind of shopping experience either. Just my opinion. With all that aside, I will say my fiancé and I stopped in here as a last ditch effort to find him some nice dress shoes downtown. To my surprise, my fiancé stumbled upon the only pair of nicer, Italian-made, designer shoes there and they were in his size. It was a great deal and he left happy. This new one just has an odd layout of the different departments and since its located on the basement level - it feels stuffy, especially when it's crowded. If you enter on the street level, you will take the escalator down once you're in the lobby; however, you can also enter this Rack from the lower level of Westlake Center. The selection here is limited. Though they have all the standard departments, it feels cramped here, as if all the departments are mixed together since the space is narrow. It makes looking for items more difficult. Or just not as appealing. Staff seems to always be helpful, and I'm always greeted by someone on the floor. They also try to relieve the long lines, by checking out people using a mobile device if the customer is paying with a card. Overall, this is an A-OK Nordstrom Rack. The location itself is convenient when you're in downtown Seattle, but it's not where I prefer to shop, given the stuffy layout and limited selection. read more

Why the two stars? I personally am not a fan of the new rack. I miss the old location where there were floors that separated women's, men's, shoes and accessories. With the new location, I feel like everything is crammed which makes me not want to shop no longer than 15 min here. I wish I had more time to spend here. I was able to shop here the first night I arrived and purchased 4 pairs of high heels for a photoshoot as well as some cute stockings. I didn't have time to try them on at the store ( the shoes that is ! ) and some of them were too big. Retuning them was easy and the staff friendly and helpful. I didn't get a chance to shop for myself too much here, but I did manage it get some great Christmas gifts at a great price. This store was very clean and well lit. The clothing was organized and staff always was around to help out. The dressing rooms were large and there were lots of them And you could bring up to 15 items in at once - wow! They had a large selection of accessories as well as beauty and cosmetic items, but I didn't have time to check them out as much as I had wanted. As a young adult, I would beg my friends/family to take me here for summer/school shopping. As an adult, I spend way too much time here!
