My husband and I bought a motor home in December 2015 that has 3 TVs. Only the one in the living/kitchen area was connected to the DIRECTV satellite receiver! We weren't happy with the RV dealer so we needed to find someone to connect all the TVs. First of all I have to talk about Robert (owner). Not only is he just the most helpful person I've ever dealt with, but he is the most knowledge person I have talked to when it comes to just anything that has to do with Audio/Video equipment. I was looking into installing/upgrading speakers in my 2000 Honda Accord but I didn't want to get ripped off or put some no name brand speaker like all these cheap Asian owned places in the SGV area. I did some asking around from my fellow car lovers and Mark's Audio Video was highly recommended by everyone I asked. I can't ignore highly trusted credible sources, so I took a chance and went there. Robert helped me with find the correct speakers, at a reasonable price. Found some nice Alpines for my rear speakers with great bass. I didn't want to take up trunk space with a separate bass and box. Once I approved the speakers, he ordered them for me. Once he received them, I brought my car back and he had them installed within the hour. I was very pleased with the quality of the sound and the decent amount of bass with just rear speakers. I loved that he didn't try to upsell me on getting a bunch of things I didn't need or want and that he really listened to what I wanted. It wasn't about making as much money off me as he could. Robert addressed what my needs were and met them. Can't ask for better customer service than that. He also helped me with installing audio output so that I can hook up my iphone to my sound system so that I didn't have to rely on using my outdated CD player anymore. Who plays CD's anymore nowadays? After more than a year, speakers are still working like they are brand spanking new. I will definitely go back to Mark's Audio Video when I buy a new car in the future and upgrade the speakers. He also can install any aftermarket head units/monitor/GPS, the works. If you are interested in home entertainment installations, you can go to them also! I was in need of installing a backup camera on my vehicle since I have this huge bumper blindspot. After doing much research about where to go (Al & Eds, The Carshop, Audio Crafters, Six AutoSound), I decided finally on Mark's after getting a friend referral and meeting Robert, the owner of the car division. Not exactly sure why there have been no yelp reviews, but I must say, this place is probably one of the best well known kept secrets in the SGV area. My guess is because most of the existing patrons are not yelp / technology people (mid 50s?) and in addition to cars, many of them have work done to a theirs boats, which I can't speak to because I only have a car (my income bracket). I decided on this place in the mind because the price, although not the cheapest, offered the best combination of quality (if anything is wrong, I can bring it back anytime) and value (competitive pricing). I think if you are like me and purchase cars from CarMax, and don't want to haggle all day and don't want to risk a poorly done job, this place is for you. I once tried to have a GPS system installed in those east LA area vendors and not only did it only work some of the time, it almost caused a car fire, because yes, if wires are not properly organized, can cause very serious problems. We are so happy with our new Fusion radio in our Hallett 255. Justin is fantastic! He took the time to explain every detail and also worked with us to pick the perfect system for our boat. We had concerns about getting remotes that would replace the old remotes since they were a different shape. He sent us pictures and made sure we were happy with the look before installing. They came out perfect. He was able to make them fit so you would never know they used to be a different shape. Justin also spent a lot of time going over how to use the new radio and remotes. I have been looking for someone to update the electronics in my 2008 Winnebago Voyage. Tried several "RV shops" and everyone was to expensive or couldn't understand what I wanted. A couple of our neighbors bought new RV's, in conversation with them they explained they bought the basic new coach then had everything added locally, I also checked with my local RV repair shop. All 3 recommended Mark's Audio-Video. So off I go to Mark's with my wish list in hand thinking I would be lucky to get half done. After several visits and conversations with Mark (the owner of 40 years) and his son Justin I have my list complete, new Samsung 39" LED up front, new Samsung Blu-Ray Surround, new HD satellite receiver, 280 watts of solar on the roof (was originally 160 watts but Mark found a deal and passed the savings to me) they even re-mounted my rear TV on a pivot so I could access extra storage. All for far less than I had imagined. Even the wife thought is was a great deal and much cheaper than buying a new RV! I had a lot of confidence in this shop when I dropped off my RV and they DID NOT let me down, the progress reports and pictures every couple of days via text, the open shop where you are welcomed on the shop floor, the always positive attitude. If you work on my stuff I am always there, like it or not. I was always welcomed with open arms, always walked through my RV to check progress and make sure everything was to my liking. After owning my RV for 6 years this was the best experience I have had. I would highly recommend Mark's Audio-Video for ANY home audio work and any electronic upgrades/repairs to any vehicle, RV or boat. Absolutely worth every penny invested. The home theater surround sound receiver went out in my motorhome. My mobile RV tech recommended Mark. Marks knows RV's very well, as he owns one. Having just finished building our custom home I feel compelled to share that you need to speak with Mark's Audio-Video. They can help whether you are looking to make small upgrades or are in the process of new construction or a remodel. Your electrician might think he can handle the low voltage but don't be fooled.You will be very disappointed and have a brand new home that is significantly outdated. It is much cleaner and more cost effective to pre-wire and plan the home infrastructure. This is a must have for an updated home and will become a standard you will want to have. For us that included a central media center, built in televisions, outdoor speakers, surveillance cameras, smart thermostat, smart lighting, and my favorite - the Lutron collection of blinds and shades. This is not a flat screen installation service. They design and install fabulous home theater systems! We are so pleased with their service! They arranged for the new cabinet and integrated some of our existing equipment in the new design. I went here for quality service and quality workmanship. I got great quality service with no doubt at all. I was referred by many "auto" people to come here because this was the best. I knew it would be pricey and I was good with that because I knew I would not only be getting quality service and quality workmanship. I didn't even research any other places. My gut told me I would have zero issues. So, I got my vehicle done here. Paid for it and it was pricey but again, from the outside my vehicle looked sweet. So, about a year later or so, I decided to do a full frame off restoration to my vehicle. Obviously, I had to take my vehicle apart to start the project. What I was found was astounding. Nothing was done clean whatsoever as far as wiring etc etc etc. It was a complete mess. Wiring was crammed into places behind the dash, wiring was exposed to possible rubbing without the right protection, and there were many more issues. It was pretty ugly. Another example is that the wiring on the floorboard was installed underneath the Dyanamat. There were few zip ties and not a clean install by my opinion and by many many hot rodders and auto guys which came by to see it. They were absolutley shocked that Mark's Audio did this work. They did not believe me. They were actually dumbfounded. Again, the system worked excellent and the customer service was great, but the quality workmanship behind the dash and underneath the floorboard was absolutely appauling not only to me but the "auto" crowd that has stopped by to see it. It was a complete ugly mess. In my belief, if one is paying for this expensive type of service, quality workmanship should be a given inside and out. I will definitely not be going here again and I will be doing my own wiring now during the process of my frame off restoration and take my loss as part of a life experience. I do have to say very strongly that Robert is very nice and professional. read more
