My wife had tried three pediatric dentists in the area, but none had been able to keep him from dissolving into hysterics. When he left for an appointment with Dr. Pamela Hom last week, I feared for the worst. Upon return, however, I was informed that (although he still was scared and it wasn't easy) that Dr. Hom had been able to fill the cavity, and that *they hugged* at the end. When I asked the little guy how he was, he said he still felt funny in his mouth, but that he was OK. I asked my wife how it went, and she laughed a bit. Apparently, Dr. Hom had come into the reception room after it was done and flopped onto the couch. "We got through it, together' she quipped. I truly believe that the first experiences a child has with a dentist cascade for decades throughout their life, and we are so appreciative that Dr. Hom was able to connect with my terrified child enough to let him know that they DO care, they WILL help, and that they will get through it . . . together. We were caught off guard, as traumatic, and were given a hasty explanation when it occurred. The follow-up communication was poor and at times argumentative. We switched providers for all our children after this experience and are still dealing with the aftermath. This was not the first negative experience with this practice. We should have switched earlier. Dr Morgan also told us on two occasions "that this has never happened in my career". Read the reviews here on google and on Yelp, and you will see a clear pattern of behavior. We rarely give reviews or complain, but we felt compelled after our experience.

There's a running theme in the way Dr. S manages her practice as it's run with long time, dedicated, kind employees. Brandon, the hygienist, I give tons of praise to! He does our whole family's cleanings. He's patient, very dedicated to his craft, gentle, he gets all the junk out & is thorough. I have a small mouth, so chickens out there, he's very gentle. My oral hygiene improved after he started doing my cleanings, as I floss more. They r ok if I don't do X-rays every yr. Prior to him, I had Phyllis do my cleanings for 15+ yrs, she was personal, kind and very thorough w cleanings. Long term office staff, Kathy & Sherrie are top notch, just the best people...kind, patient, understanding, personable, & accurate. We switched our kids from a pediatric dentistry practice down the street and our kids say the cleanings @ Assabet Dental are more thorough and the hygienists pay attention to you (and not to ea other and talk over you). Other practices advertise a lot, but don't treat you like a human as Assabet Dental does.

Everytime she took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure and address my concerns. Since this dental practice dropped Blue Cross insurance, I had to leave them to look for another pediatric dentist and a orthodontist for my child. I am truly sad to leave this practice. The combination of attentive staff, skilled professionals, and a welcoming atmosphere made a truly pleasant dental appointment for my son throughout the years. Been going to Glad for a while, overall was happy with teeth cleaning. However, in my last visit,…read morethey asked if it was okay if they applied fluoride on my teeth WITHOUT disclosing that it would be an extra charge. It took 5 seconds for them to brush on. And when I went to checkout, they told me the fluoride application would be $45 since it wasn't covered by insurance. Additionally the fluoride was very grainy and sticky, and had an awful taste. They also ended up brushing some of it on my mouth/lips and it felt like a mess and very sloppy. Very disappointed at the "hidden costs" since it felt like a sneaky way for them to earn extra money. They provide you "additional services" which I didn't really need since my teeth have had no issues in years, and then you're forced to pay. I will not be trusting them for any future dental care. If they're the type of clinic that tries to find sneaky ways to earn extra money, who knows what future "concerns" or "problems" they'll find with your teeth that you may not really need. I also emailed them about my discomfort in having to pay for services that I didn't need and that they were not upfront with about the additional cost, but they didn't bother to reply.
