My 6-year old son is terrified of the dentist (as is his father) and recently had a cavity in one of his baby teeth. My wife had tried three pediatric dentists in the area, but none had been able to keep him from dissolving into hysterics. When he left for an appointment with Dr. Pamela Hom last week, I feared for the worst. Upon return, however, I was informed that (although he still was scared and it wasn't easy) that Dr. Hom had been able to fill the cavity, and that *they hugged* at the end. When I asked the little guy how he was, he said he still felt funny in his mouth, but that he was OK. I asked my wife how it went, and she laughed a bit. Apparently, Dr. Hom had come into the reception room after it was done and flopped onto the couch. "We got through it, together' she quipped. I truly believe that the first experiences a child has with a dentist cascade for decades throughout their life, and we are so appreciative that Dr. Hom was able to connect with my terrified child enough to let him know that they DO care, they WILL help, and that they will get through it . . . together. Dentists appear to be okay, but we've had an easy time with our kids' teeth so far. The hygienists seem capable as well, but unfortunately the office staff members are remarkably unpleasant. Twice now I've had an issue with the gigantic TV screen. The first time, my two children went into the examining rooms one at a time, and my 3-year-old and I were subjected to a vapid TV program where 2 women made sex jokes about bedrooms in beach homes. Then advertisements ran for "Call of Duty" and "Grand Theft Auto" video games, and some movie where dozens of people were killed. It was easily the most violent thing my child had ever seen. I asked for the channel to be switched as it is a pediatric dentistry. We were denied and were told to "wait in the hall then." The second time, I simply wanted to watch some news during an important Congressional hearing. I was denied, and the staff continued to show a wretched real estate show. We are looking elsewhere for future dentistry, but the medical staff are decent. read more

My 15-year old child has been going to Pediatric Dentistry for about 11 years and has always walked out of there in a good mood! Everyone there is professional and caring, and the dentists and hygienists have always put my child at ease. What's more, when I recently made the office aware that my child is transgender, each staff member used my child's preferred pronouns without hesitation or judgement. Dr. Neale and Pediatric Dentistry ROCK!!! My now 5 year old looks forward to going to visit Dr. Neale's office. Friendly, helpful staff at the front desk, gentle, caring techs, and Dr. Neale is so great. I have no hesitation in sending anyone to Dr. Neale. I have a child with special needs, i felt so bad when they did'nt seem happy to deal with him.. did'nt do anything for him, then charged me for a visit ! I explained all the details about him before seeing a doctor. I rather if they told me at the very begining sorry we can't see him. After multiple Dentists to find the one that worked for my son we were lucky to discover Dr. Eckstein and this office. The Staff is wonderful, helpful and friendly. They have been wonderful and accommodating with my Son's anxiety. We had two teeth filled that I never thought would be able to happen, it was scheduled in 2 appts as to not traumatize him. Needless to say it worked perfectly and we would not be happier and gladly recommend them to our family and friends. We can't thank them enough. read more

First I would like to say PLEASE do not go to this dentistry unless you want your whole day to be ruined!! The front staff are deaf, rude and beyond dumb. I hated every minute I was in that office. Go to any other dental place except this one, there's perfect dental and more in Marlborough. Ive went to this dentist for a very long time now. I usually have great experiences there and regularly see Dr.Joe. The past time I went for a cleaning the girl at the front desk ignored me and when she finally addressed my presence she was very rude to me . Even when I asked a simple question she snapped at me. Something is terribly wrong with their doctors and the front desk staff. We just move to Marlborough and we found this pediatric dentistry. We thought we could give it a try. My son is under 3, but it was the third time that he saw a dentist. He was very happy and cooperative with the nurse in all the time, he let the nurse do the exam and brush his teeth. My son was laughing and playing with the nurse. After the nurse finished her part and we started to wait for the doctor to come in. After 30min waiting, the female dentist FINALLY came. Me and my husband were SOOOO shocked by her attitude, she even did not give a smile to my son or say a "hello" to him. Of course, my son start to get nervous. I can see the female dentist was in a hurry and just want to get her job done. By saying "he has to get over on this", the female dentist started to force my son to lay down on the chair and the nurse started to hold my sons legs again the chair... (I guess FORCING is the ONLY practice the female dentist has with young children, SAD!!!. SHAMED!! )We have seen much much better ways that the dentists can treat kids and gain trust from them... After seeing what the female dentist did, immediately me and my husband said to her to stop doing anything to my son... After the horrible visit, my son started to have fear for seeing any doctors...I was sooooo regretful for bringing him to this Pediatic Dentistry (Marlborough office). This is our worst experience with pediatric dentist so far. If possible, I really want to give NO star for THAT female dentist's performance. PS, then later on, they even send my insurance company with a wrong service code, and my insurance company could not cover it. After a few phone call, the billing manager (Ginna??) ask ME to request my insurance rep to call her to allow her to send another bill with right code. It is SOOOO wrong!! How I am supposed to ask my insurance rep to call them and tell them how to bill the insurance company?!....anyway, I did call my insurance rep again and told her what's happened and my insurance rep kindly agreed to make a courtesy call to that person (Ginna(??)) then, guess what Ginna said to my insurance rep? "We are the very reputed dental provider and we know what we are doing. We will never make a mistake in service code for a bill.." So, why I was ASKED to let my insurance rep to call you dentist ??? It is such a JOKE!! Because THEY never make a mistake and THEY are reputed dentistry and I have pay the bill for NO service whatsoever? read more

I have been taking my kids to this dentist for 16 yrs. They've seen the 3 senior doctor's: Dr Hom, Dr Ekstein and Dr Jarosz. All 3 are on staff @ Children's & Emerson Hosptl. We chose Dr Hom, bec she graduated frm Harvard Schl of Dental Medcn, did residency @ Childrns Hosptl, & has teaching appt @ Harvard (so she stays current on dental trends/news). We've gone to the latter 2 dentists in the last 6 appts, however, due to our schedule. All are excellent dentists with very good credentials, and always very professional. I am always met afterwds to discuss my kid's teeth care procedures and any issues to correct with the doctor, and it's always great they take the time w parents, so I can hear directly from them. In deciding on a dentist or doctor, I always ensure they're Board certified and went to a reputable school, bec when you have health or dental issues, you want the best health diagnosis and care. My college roommate was a doctor and taught me how to evaluate doctors. I do stay on top of my kid's brushing to minimize future issues (pain & cost). The front office & the doctors respect when I say no X-rays to minimize my kid's exposure even to a small amt of radiation as they don't need fillings. I do book the next 6 mth cleaning appt for ea kid in advance & make notes in my calendar to make the next appt after that 3 mths later. I have never had a problem getting the appt I want, and I always book both kids at the same time with different hygienists, so we get out in 20 min. The hygienists are faster than the time it takes me to shop in the plaza. The only small complaint is the hygienists talk amongst themselves while the kid's are getting their teeth cleaned, so my kids feel invisible. I like that they've automated the history procedures and all is done directly online. Many of the complaints are about the front staff, but they've not been a problem. Any issues, just quietly tell the boss/dentist about it. read more

I agree with other reviewers. We have seen most of the dentists there. No issues with any of them. It is the front desk staff. Rude and seem lack of insurance knowledge. Impatient. I tried to keep interactions with them as brief as possible everytime. read more

Daughters never had any complaints about the actual dentists which is most important obviously. Ownership should reevaluate some of the front office staff though (rude).. Have moved on to another office which is easy enough to do. read more

I would give this place a higher rating if the office staff wasn't so rude and unpleasant to deal with! Holy cow! I have never called somewhere and had people be so unpleasant when just calling to make sure when an appointment is. Seriously makes me want to reconsider my choice on going there mind you I drive 30min just to go there. read more

I will not recommend for kids under 3! it was during 2011..My son was 3~ years old when he had cavity and it was going worse. Well, I looked for dentist around who takes care kids. Finally I I found this nice cozy well managed place. It is really nice inside. I saw other kids are doing fine in this place who are mature enough to allow dentist to work on them. First day, doc Pamela looked at my son case, and recommended immediate filling and possible removal of teeth. My son was very scary at first. Not unusual for any 3 year old. But My understanding was a Pediatric dentist knows the psychology of kids and work with them accordingly. But did not see much sign how they handle 3 years old kids, I was new to this and was not aware of these. Finally the day came for filling! I had no clue how they were going to do that when my son is not opening mouth and afraid of doctor/nurses. They were planning to numb teeth and then deep clean and fill! What a plan by doctor. 2 nurse came and talked to my kid, 2 long sticks(or wooden plates) were tied to my son's hands. 2 nurse were holding and doc was trying to do the filling. It was horrible, I literally cried out seeing my kids was forced to do this, there were not kid game or fun or friendship with my son to do anything they were just ROBOTIC. I can not imagine. Initially, I was trying to reluctant with my son's crying because I was trying to get this done, or else doctor recommended removal of Teeth of my son (which would requires procedure and let him unconscious in hospital- very risky at that age and expensive too). My son was crying loud as if someone is Killing. Then I broke out and told doctor to stop and told I don't need any treatment. I hugged my son and cry for few mins. No I do not want to do this. It was horrible! Last resort doctor give was to remove the teeth! btw, they did not change anything to me in 2nd visit after this. I was given a laundry list of expenses on teeth removal and possible dates of availability. But my son is still with the same teeth and we went to a different doctor in Newton, MA. They are not only child teeth specialist (like when Pediatric Dentistry were) but they practice that. I see NIGHT and DAY difference how new doctor treated my son. She said that she wanted to be his friend before I did anything after she heard about the whole experience. First day, She played with him, let him gave some brush, I don't know what Magic she did. Next visit my son wanted to see the doctor. Since then my son gets small small filling on that teeth. Doing great since then! no teeth removal. I would say always look for second option. Every time I go to RK center (and see the dentist office), I say f*word in my mind because of the trauma it caused to me and my son. I hate it. read more
