Excellent breakfast restaurant in Sioux Falls. Solid, fast and reasonably priced. Hit this place on way to out and back from Black Hills. On way out had the Belly Buster (it was the daily special). Was not expecting American cheese on the reuben, but it was ok. The sandwich was good sized, with plenty of corned beef and kraut. I had roast beef (home baked I think) with mashed potatoes and gravy that was out of a can. I was so hungry it tasted good. Thankfully, I like instant mashed potatoes. How in the world can you mess up fries and a BLT? 9 people ate and not one of is said food was good. Age 6-67 too. The worst part however was the waitresses. Nasty and lazy. Ridiculous. So unhappy. We lucked out by visiting Marlin's on a Monday afternoon - burger meals half price! I had the bacon cheeseburger (perfect) and my girlfriend had the "old west" (delicious, she says!) I had the tater tots, they were perfectly browned and crispy, and gf had the hash browns with cheese and onion on top. Will definitely be making this a regular stop off 90. It's right off the freeway and parking is great. Staff are quick and friendly. Give Marlin's a visit! read more

Restaurant is dirty even during COVID when places should be extra clean. Passing through so we didn't have many options for breakfast. Coffee was tasteless, I'm a coffee enthusiast and that brown water tastes just like... brown water... totally disgusting! Eggs had a weird flavor. Staff wasn't very friendly and patrons were death staring us when we walked in. Probably not used to seeing many outsiders at that crap joint and it definitely showed. Made for an uncomfortable and tasteless experience. People giving this place 4 stars have a very weak palate. Being from Chicagoland we're used to good food. Feel bad for whoever really likes it there. Get out and taste real food please! read more

We stopped at Marlins on our way out of Sioux Falls in our way home to WI. The decor was kind of cool and our server was friendly and efficient. I had the biscuits and gravy which were really good. The menu says the biscuits are baked fresh and I believe that to be true. I ordered eggs sunny side up which were a little undercooked which is easy to do, but they didn't ruin the dish as they were served on the side. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. read more

This is the 2nd time we have walked out of Marlins without eating!!! We got there...took forever to get anyone to even take our drink order. When the waitress brought us that, she walked away, when we told here we were ready to order. She came back 10 minutes later. She took our order. We waited half an hour and our food wasn't there...there were several tables that got there AFTER we got there and they already had their food and was eating. There were 6 waitress's there "working" at the time. This is totally uncalled for!!! Get some waitress that want to work and not stand around and talk to each other. read more

Marlins country grill is kind of an old time restaurant. You seat yourself at either a booth, table of even counter service. I stopped for breakfast and was greeted promptly by my server. Great place. Ate here a lot when i was in trucking school in sioux falls. Never got around to eating that BIG burger. But great food their, always a plesant visit. My company gives us coupons to eat at Marlin's for a little discount, all the workers at my company recomend the place. It has truck parkinging, not a lot, but enough to pull in with a truck and trailer. Decorations are nice inside, has that old clasic look of an old dinner/gas station. and my regards to Marlin founder who had passed some time ago. read more

Marlin's does an awesome job of breakfast with good service and great coffee and excellent food, but they seem to struggle when the place gets busy, then the service gets tested and coffee cups go dry, and waiting for food gets long. They seem to have the same trouble as most restaurants in keeping wait staff. When the place is 1/2 full awesome, full not awesome. We still go back, but early. read more
