Got the room on Priceline Express Deals. Rated as a 3.5 star on the site. I'm caught between my feelings on this, but I was pleased with the overall stay. Staff was nice at checkin and very helpful. Hotel is located in the heart of Queen Anne neighborhood with plenty businesses within walking distance. Room was very spacious and well appointed. Nice decor. Not really a fan of hardwood floors in my hotel room, but I guess I have to deal with it. Room had 2 queen beds as well as a full kitchen, with a seating area with a loveseat. We accommodated 3 people comfortably. Flat screen tv mounted on the well brought us to modern times. Bathroom was nice and well lit with very nice lotions and soaps. I'm used to staying at the major brands, and this is more of a boutique hotel, but I can't really be mad. Overall everything was nice and if I was staying for 3 or more days the kitchen would've been a great feature. Room was also very clean and beds are very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again, especially for the price. If you are used to staying at Marriott's, Westin's, and Hilton's that carry a 3.5 star rating, you might be taken aback, but overall you would be pleased. What I like most about this hotel is its location. Most of the main tourist attractions are within walking distance or a short bus ride. For example, the Seattle Center is just down the block and over there you can visit the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass (must see!), the EMP Museum, the Pacific Science Center, and the Key Arena. Getting to downtown is equally convenient. Just hop on the "D" line bus and for $2.50 - $2.75 (peak hour rate increase) and in 10 minutes you can be at Pike's Place Market. Some other notable attractions around there (all within walking distance) are the Seattle Aquarium, the Seattle Great Wheel, Seattle Public Library, and Olympic Sculpture part. Getting back to the hotel location, there is a plethora of convenient shops and restaurants. Most of the bars over there are open till 1:00 or 2:00 AM and some decent late night eating options whereas everything in downtown seems to shutdown by 6:00 PM. Also, I personally loved have three late night / 24-hour full-sized grocery stores just a few minutes walk away. There's also a CVS for your pharmaceutical needs. As for the hotel itself, the staff is super friendly and the service top notch. The rooms themselves are a mixed bag. The rooms are converted apartments so they're quite spacious. There's even enough room for a large (semi-walk-in) closet and small kitchen (no stove). However, it's definitely an older, shabby-chic look. I personally noticed my WiFi connection there was very weak (couldn't even stream Netflix) and I could hear my neighbors through the walls if they were being loud. All in all, I would consider staying here again though I would also be tempted to look for newer hotels with better internet connectivity and wall insulation. read more

What a beautifully restored old hotel!! It was absolutely stunning inside, and my room was bigger than my apartment!! Enormous four poster bed, that was super comfy, huge tub, and a full kitchen with dining area. I wanted to stay much longer!! They front desk staff and bellmen were wonderful. What a great group of people! The girl Paris, at the front desk, was my favorite. What a sweetheart! The only downside is because the hotel is so much older, there is no elevator. If you have a hard time with stairs, a wheelchair, etc, make sure to reserve a room on the first floor. A solid place to stay in Seattle, five minute walk to the space needle! :) read more

Skip this hotel! The pictures on the website are deceiving for sure! We stayed here for New Years Eve. While we thought the history of this old hotel would make for a quaint stay, it was instead a huge disappointment. This is not at all what we would have expected for a $360 room. The bathroom was the biggest issue. We booked 2 rooms, and both had similar problems. We also had friends that had a room and said their room was just as bad. Some of the tile in our shower was broken, which would have allowed for water to clearly bring getting into the walls with each use. One of the shower knobs came off and we spent more time trying to get the water temperature right since the knob wasn't working than actually showering. There was mold growing on the upper part of the shower wall and clearly a water leak from the bathroom above us. The "kitchen " area is clearly all original with multiple layers of paint. The furnace ran ALL night. It was loud and overly hot in the room, even though we had turned the temperature down to as low 60, it would NOT shut off. The lobby/ stair area is cute and made for a great photo location. But anything positive about this hotel stops at the stairs! Despite all of the problems, they were only willing to compensate us 15% off the room still $300. If there was an option to have gone to another hotel, we would have left as soon as we saw the rooms. But finding an option on New Years Eve isn't possible. The building has the potential to be very cute. But it is currently in need of some major renovation simply to make it up to what I would consider a safe and healthy condition. read more

I loved staying in this historic hotel, and wish I could give it 4.5 stars. The only reasons I'm not giving it 5 stars: -There is no elevator. This wasn't a big issue because we were on the second floor and they will help with your luggage, but it could be an issue for other guests. -There is no fitness center. They offered a $10/day rate at a nearby 24 hour fitness (which is not open 24 hours). -The view out our window was a concrete wall. However, after reading other reviews, I think our stay was much quieter because we had a concrete wall view instead of a street view. Otherwise, I absolutely loved the hotel. The staff was very friendly, it was a great location, and the room was very comfortable. The staff was wonderful. Each day they offered helpful advice on things to do, best places to eat, the best way to get to places, help with bus schedules, shuttles, etc. Everyone was very pleasant! The location was fantastic too. We were able to walk to the Space Needle, the EMP, and even Pike Place Market (but bring good walking shoes). There were lots of cute shops and places to eat nearby. We didn't have a car, but didn't feel like we needed one. They offer continental breakfast at the hotel, but we enjoyed trying local restaurants. Mecca Cafe was our favorite. The place was clearly very old, but the room still felt modern. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the tubs were old, but the shower was fine. Our room had a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker and dishes. They left mints on the bed and brought a paper each day (except Sunday). We would definitely stay here again! read more

But with that said - I checked into the MarQueen last night and asked to be upgraded and they told me that the hotel was full which was entirely not true. The receptionist was not helpful and rather rude and off putting. When I went up to my room and opened the door someone was in the bed! I went back downstairs and explained the situation. The person from that room came down as well and said something about how I was lucky she's didn't pull out her knife. They then gave me another room - I went In and that's when I decided to not stay there as all. The hotel is beautiful and has a nice charm to it but is not updated in the rooms and it almost felt dirty. read more

This is a beautiful hotel with a great history. The staff is very accommodating and the attached bar serves great drinks... However... I'm lowering my review because, as comfortable as the rooms are, the beds are AWFUL. They feel like stiff air mattresses and are lumpy. The pillows also aren't great. No cushion, flat and also lumpy. This is a wonderful hotel in a great Seattle neighborhood. It's the opposite of "cookie cutter." Charm, character, and history are what defines this place. Kerry Park is close by, with jaw dropping views of the Space Needle and downtown. You're not far from the action, but still sort of at a distance from the madding crowd. read more

First trip to this side of the United States as an adult. Simply wonderful experience. Very helpful front desk staff and they do have a gentleman to help you with luggage (because there is no elevator.) The hotel is 99 years old so it has a lot of character. Expect the floors to creek and the doors to shut heavy. However, there is not much noise coming from the halls in to the room. The rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, and the tubs are deep. Our room had a kitchenette but we didn't use it because of the central location to several restaurants and continental breakfast. No complaints only complements for this hotel. 10/10 would stay again. read more

I was in Seattle to do a hike with a local outfitter who said this hotel was the closest to their office. I regret staying here for several reasons. Dark outdated lobby. No elevator, musty smell, air conditioner is loud, no coffee in room or lobby. No mention of coffee shop nearby either. No mention of room service or list of recommended things to do nearby. Please note ladies: No interior security latch for your door. I have encountered being given a key to an already occupied room so please note this. For OVER $300 a night you can do so much better. Cool hotel, outdated, but that's the allure. It is in a great location, it is a quick cab ride away from all the neighborhoods you'd want to visit. It is also a short walk to the space needle. The only negative thing about this hotel is that they do not have an elevator, so keep that in mind if you're traveling with a lot of luggage. We use yelp all the time, but I've never written a review. The MarQueen Hotel was so bad that I finally took the time to get a Yelp account and write a review. 1. Given the wrong room that didn't have enough beds (we booked 2 Queens but were given a King and told it was an "upgrade"). This doesn't work when you have kids and want 2 Queen beds. Told us they would give us a 30% discount but we were still charged the full amount. 2. Charged for parking for 3 nights, told we were not going to be but still tried to charge us for parking for 3 nights (even though we only parked there one night). 3. They lost the keys to our car so we had to stand there for 30 minutes waiting for them to find the keys to our car. 4. No manager on duty, we kept being told the manager would contact us (for 3 days) and the manager never contacted us. 5. The Tin Lizzie lounge is over-priced and was dead the entire time we were there. read more

A ladies and lads getaway at tropical abyss!! We arrived to a Seattle Urban heat island- piping hot city weather wise. The first thing you notice when pulling into The Marqueen is, "where are we? Feels like a home the Adams Family might live in! Feels tad haunted" But, once you drop your car off out front, upon further inspection, to take advantage of the brilliantly efficient valet, you realize you are staying at none other than the Marqueen, and it's fit for a King (and his Queen). The pampering begins immediately and comes at you like a ton of bricks! You will be greeted by @Hassan... It was like a seen out of a Hollywood blockbuster: I pulled up out front and left my moms Audi SUV truck in the middle of the road, with little to no regard for the cars behind me, and tossed my keys (what felt like a quarter mile) to @Hassan, who made an incredible snag. I joked, "you play ball?" To which @Hassan responded, "I play for the Blue Jays!" A clear reference to the fact that we were in town to watch the Ball game. Please note: @Hassan can drive anything. We arrived in convoy style formation and also provided keys to a large truck with which we imagined Hassan may need some coaching... not the case; he drove out steadily and brilliantly slipped into the undersized parking stalls. Upon entrance to the hotel, you will be greeted by Jasmine, a young aspiring lady with a very bright future. She was with us every step of the way, and provided extra robes for The Kings and Queens practically right off the bat ( Go Jays!!) Did I mention that @Hassan can literally drive anything? Come walk into the room with me: the space is as advertised, monstrous King plus size beds with space for the entire Blue Jays roster! The sheets were crisp, and the cups were clean; always great to have a kitchen parked right inside your room! And if this kitchen was on wheels? Yes, @Hassan could park it. Enter the Tin Lizzie- a Napoleon era bar with live music and and an overall taste for the exquisite:) Warm meatballs; fresh salad; and a staff that makes you want to come back for seconds! The live music was hip and contemporary. I sat at the bar for 6 hours until I couldn't fathom another meatball nor finish what must have been 3 cocktails- hope i didn't embarrass myself as these Americans know how to pour them!! All in all, what I've hopefully painted is a picture of a hotel with a heck of staff (with @Hassan at the helm); a quality offering of rooms; and a hotel that is true to its word in every aspect of it's previous Yelp reviews. Come stay a while, and you may just find that your trip to the Queen will indeed having you feeling like a King:) read more

Clean, polite, professional and really cool design. Parking can be a challenge all over Seattle but we lucked out with a spot out front. Loved the space for my fiancé and our two dogs. Are You Serious?!!? The only thing that saved this hotel's rating from being a "ZERO STAR" was the wonderful complimentary shuttle service and driver (Curtis) who is very knowledgeable about the city. Although the shuttle will only take you within a three mile radius, most things are located within that distance. We were even able to get Curtis to come pick us up one day when my girlfriend couldn't bare to walk one more step. [Why do girls wear new shoes while on vacation?] The girls at the front desk, on the other hand, might as well not even be there. They are pretty much useless in terms of providing guests with information about the amenities. Apparently, the hotel had a continental breakfast and wine tasting everyday which we were not informed of. Isn't that supposed to be something relayed to the guests upon check in? We actually would not have known about the shuttle service if it weren't for one of the bell hops who actually was pretty kind. when we asked the front desk how to get around town, their response was to use a cab or bus. Why would they recommend we take a cab or the bus if they had complimentary shuttle service?! WTF? Are you a fan of bed bugs and nasty bedding? if your answers to these questions are "NO" you should avoid this hotel. After the second night of our stay, i literally had been bitten all over by little critters. Upon careful examination of the bedding, we observed some nasty stains on the cover. YUCK! Although the room is spacious and has its own kitchen and little nook with sofas, the view out the window is of a concrete wall. Nice! I reposted the original complaint on their Facebook wall again, and they deleted it again on Sunday afternoon. Not only that, but they have blocked me from being able to post on their wall or comment on their page at all. I then called them and asked to speak to their front desk manager, Brad. He was not in so I left a message for him to call me back. As of today at 6:00 p.m. he has not. I can't believe how incredibly unresponsive they are being about this. One of their front desk staff hung up on me. The conversation was not elevated or heated, it wasn't even divisive, and he simply hung up on me. The mere fact that they have chosen to completely ignore a potential customer says volumes to me as to how they would treat someone who ran into a problem while staying there. Steer clear, folks. In serious serious need of a remodel. I get the historic aspects. That's why I chose it. But the kitchens need new appliances, fresh paint, drawer pulls not falling off. The bathroom tub clogged, the floor was chipping and there was mold on the ceiling. The hardwood floors were sticky, they need more rugs, and the floors need refinishing. There was a stain on our coverlet. This place needs an old world charm renovation. Antique is cute. This is just too run down and too expensive for this kind of quality. We would definitely stay here again if that's what Priceline gave us. I'm a total Priceliner and could care less where we stay. We did luck out this time on this gem of a hotel for $60 a night. If we'd paid the rack rate I might be more critical. The staff here was very friendly and mostly very helpful. They helped us figure our way around town, accommodated us with special shuttle rides, made dinner reservations, gave great activity and restaurant suggestions, etc. The room was HUGE! She told us we were getting a room with a view. It was interesting to see that her opinion of a view was the street and bar across the street. Just as most other Yelpers have said, the bar crowd IS VERY NOISY. No joke. We're young so it's fine, we were up until 2 or 3 each night anyway. But if we were trying to get to sleep early this would not have worked for us. The best part about this place is the $10 voucher for Caffe Ladro that they deliver every morning with the newspaper. They make yummy coffee and pastries and the $10 is definitely enough for two people to get a nice start to their day. SOOOO much better than continental breakfast and such. The Caffe I think was voted one of Seattle's best. I did not like the fact that we had to hike up the stairs because there is no elevator. The first few days were fine, but the last few days were hell since we did not have a car and were walking all over the city too. Overall, a good experience. The place was clean. Fantastic place to stay if youre an out of towner. I just LOVE Queen Anne, and the Marqueen was beyond perfect for a week's vacation for my little family and I. Location? This is IT! SO close to city transportation! Its also close to Seattle Center (Children's museum!!) several burger joints, (Dicks and Kidd Valley) a pizza place, Thai food, and is even connected to a super awesome Cafe, with a yummy coffee. We stayed in a double room, which was pretty large, with enough space to stay sane, that came along with a walk in kitchen and eating area. It's an older hotel, which is the kind of thing we appreciate, so think about your preferences before booking. Beds are awesome and extremely comfortable! Staff has an excellent attitude and is very accommodating; they even held a package for us to pick up upon arrival. I love the good vibes, and I am pretty sure we will stay here whenever we visit Seattle. read more

Honest review: Checking in the receptionist was very nice and provided us with information about near by stores and attractions. We are 2 blocks away from the space needle which is great! And only 2 bus transfers away from the pike market. Location wise this is a pretty good spot. They put a $150 hold on your credit card so prepare for that. The hotel has a very old look to it, the room I stayed in consist of a lounge area and a kitchen with a sink, microwave, refrigerator (no stove) and a dinning area. The bed surprisingly is very comfy. The wooden floors make noises when you walk around the room and so does the bed frame. They serve complimentary breakfast in the morning from 7-11am. And also provide you with the paper at the front of your room door. The workers here are very kind and very professional the biggest down fall to this place would be their wifi. You can barely connect and when you are connected you continuously get kicked off the internet every 2 mins. The wifi is so bad it restricts certain sites from loading up. I would say this hotel location wise is a great location. Workers are very kind, the room is very spacious but makes a lot of noises when you walk around the room, I would say their wifi is basically unavailable because of the fact you keep getting kicked off. This hotel is perfect for older people wanting a quiet hotel. Edit: I wrote this before I went to shower. The water pressure is ridiculous. I turned the hot water all the way on only to get enough water pressure to fill a 8oz water bottle in 20 mins.. the small amount of hot water was too hot so I tried to level it off with some cold water but as soon as I turned the nob for the cold water it went to freezing cold. Not sure if it's just my room but that's just ridiculous. With the $150 hold on the card and paying $150 a night I would not recommend this place. The polite service from the workers is not worth what we are paying. If I had to bid for this hotel on Priceline I would bid $50-$70 only because the bed was comfy. This is an older property located in the Queen Anne neighbourhood of Seattle. It was built in 1918 and has less than sixty rooms and suites for guests. The rooms are decently appointed with hardwoods and kitchens with microwaves and refrigerators, some offer stoves! There's free Wi-Fi and local newspapers, coffee and tea making facilities and an overnight shoe service if your kicks need attention with other amenities like bathrobes and turn down service. Some nights they offer a wine reception showcasing NW wines and the entire property is smoke-free. One of the downsides to the property is if you park a car, it's mandatory valet and $25.00 per night. Whew! Make sure you really want to drive that car is all I'm saying... read more

Recently we moved out of our Queen Anne apartment, home for seven years, and I needed a place to stay the night before the moving truck arrived to whisk our worldly possessions . With several hotels in the area, I selected the MarQueen for reasons both practical and sentimental. Practical: it's the closest to our apartment which is half-way up Queen Anne. Sentimental: Relatives a few generations back were the building managers long before the apartments were transitioned into a hotel and I thought it'd be fun to see from the inside. Upsides are plentiful. Most importantly is the location. It's closer to the Seattle Center, Opera House, Professional Theatres, shopping, restaurants, major bus routes and taxi stands than most hotels in the neighborhood. They have smartly partnered with a few near-by dining spots for their room service menu, which is extensive and diverse. It's less than one block away from a full grocery store, drug store, ups store, and about a zillion coffee shops. Tup Tim Thai, my favorite Thai place for more than decade is just down the street a few blocks. The room itself is spacious, they are all converted apartments with a large walk-in closet, in room ironing board and iron, and functional kitchens that include a fridge, a microwave. This makes a great choice if you're in town visiting someone in a studio apartment or a relative at Bayview Manor, a retirement home up the hill a little ways. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is a little cramped and doesn't have much in the way of counter space. The staff are gracious and kind. Although we got off to rocky start when they offered to bring my bag up to my room and then forgot which guest's bag it was. I had to go back down thirty minutes later and retrieve it. The only downside to the hotel was the thin walls. I could hear folks in rooms around mine, their tvs, their conversations - word for word, and their foot steps. If you're looking for an affordable place to call home base as you out enjoying sights, taking a film our twelve for SIFF, or seeing a show in one of the awesome theatres, the MarQueen is a good choice. If you're looking for a place to relax and retreat from work or family in privacy and quiet, this probably isn't going to meet your travel needs. read more

My stay at the Marqueen was my first ever Hotel experience. I've stayed at cheap motels only, and I felt really out of my element at first. The doorman runs to hold the door open for you every time you walk up the steps and the valet parks your car. I felt under-dressed in my jeans and t-shirt, but I was greeted very warmly and professionally. The Hotel itself is just beautiful. The room I stayed in was huge! It had antique furniture, hardwood floors with oriental rugs, and a separate kitchen area. The bed was very comfortable. The whole hotel definitely has a vintage feel. The hallways were reminiscent of "The Shining". Everything provided, including the Gilchrist & Soames toiletries and Torrefazione coffee, was exceptional. I've bought more of both after returning home. There is a gym across the street, a coffee shop and a restaurant around the corner, and a spa downstairs which are all connected with the Hotel. I did not have time to visit them, but if you really want to feel spoiled and pampered, the options are there for you. The neighborhood feels upscale and safe. There is a Metropolitan Market a block over which had the most beautiful looking produce, and a whole aisle of expensive-but-worth-it chocolate. They also have a lot of wine if you're in the mood. Now for the few bad things... There is a noisy bar across the street. I knew this from reading the other reviews, but they weren't kidding about the noise. We stayed on a weeknight and there were still people standing outside and drunk-talking until the wee hours of the morning. It's fun to people-watch as long as you don't have to wake up early. There is no elevator, which I actually like, but I know for some it is a huge turnoff. The valet parking is very expensive. You can take your car out as many times as you want (you better be able to, for what they charge!) but you'll want to figure parking into your total cost because it's not cheap. Due to available flight times, my wife and I needed to stay over somewhere a day early during our trip to Washington so we decided to pick a place near the Space Needle since we wished to go there. What I expected falls well short of what I encountered upon arrival. The MarQueen doesn't look like much as you approach it, but has an old fashioned atmosphere inside that makes it unique compared to the bland hotels of today. The Room: We stayed in a one bedroom suite that included a king sized bed, small kitchenette, walk-in closet and full bathroom. The room was quite clean and furnished with actual furniture in great shape. Inside the kitchen was a refrigerator about 2/3rds the size of what you would have at home so it has plenty of space for your stay. There is air conditioning and heating for each room, cable and free wi-fi. Other reviewers spoke of thin walls and noisy neighbors, but this did not match our experience at all. Service: The hostess at the front desk was quite pleasant and quick in checking us in. Valet parking is available so you don't have to hunt for the best places to park since spaces seem to be at a premium in the area. One of the hosts went out of his way to open the door and greet us with a smile every time we came in or out. Waking up in the morning I noted a new newspaper outside every door. That may seem like it should be expected, but I have stayed in many places that charge quite a bit more without this level of service. Old fashioned design and old fashioned service is what I'd call it. Pricing: Our stay was ~$104/night, but this is for a location within a very short walk to the Space Needle and right on Queen Anne drive. There are dozens of restaurants within a ten minute walk, with most within five, of the hotel. Most are Indian or Thai, but Greek, Cajun, Mexican and American locations are also near. The only real downside is that this location appears to be a hotspot for pan-handling and I don't think we made a walk once were we did not run into it. That is saying something considering most of those walks were for 1-2 blocks. This isn't the hotels fault by any means, but it does deserve mentioning. The area did not feel unsafe though. I would recommend staying here to anyone looking to visit the area and would gladly stay here again. read more

This would be a fun place to stay if you were attending an event at the Seattle Center or Key Arena, and were staying just one night. For a business traveler staying for 4 nights this is not a good option. I booked on Priceline and requested a 3 star hotel. This sure wasn't a 3 star hotel. Internet problems: After reading other reviews, when they asked me for where I wanted my room, my response was wherever the best wi-fi access is. I quickly discovered for myself that the wi-fi here is horrible, most of the time I couldn't even connect, and on the rare occasion that it did connect, the connection the speeds were unusable. For instance over an hour to download 20 email messages. For a business traveler that needs internet access this is not the place for you. Hot water (or not so hot water): There is very limited hot water available. If you turn on the faucet in the shower for hot water, and turn it all the way up, and barely turn on the cold water you might get enough warm water to take a shower. If you were staying just one night you might get away without a shower, but to stay for the work week, I needed a shower every day. The water pressure and temperature were ridiculous. The rooms are large, originally built as an apartment building. Talking with some of the staff, I learned that the building was originally built and owned by the Ford Motor Company as a place for their mechanic students to live. The floors are very old hardwood, very squeaky, and very dirty looking. The floors might be beautiful if they were to be refinished. The location isn't bad, it's a short walk to the Monorail for a quick trip downtown to Westlake. My overall recommendation would be to avoid this hotel if you are concerned about hot water in the shower or internet access, but if you are just staying overnight to go to an event at Key Arena, it might be a good place to stay. read more

3 stars is because this place, while quaint and with lots of "character" didn't bother to mention that the bar across the street is bumpin' until at least 2AM every day. The earplugs provided on the nightstand should have been a tip-off, but I didn't get it. Anyway, despite the noisy neighbors, the place was well kept and definitely smacked of an older time. The worn hardwood floors are a neat touch, but in chilly Seattle I'd like a runner so I don't wake up completely from cold feet when I need to hit the can in the middle of the night. The one area that this hotel really does excel is their staff. The staff was always very accommodating and was ready to help me out with nearly every need that I had. Tip these folks good cos they're nice people too :) read more

Just finished a one night stay. I had high hopes for this boutique hotel. There is no elevator, which is fine, but no one will help you with your bags up three flights of stairs. My sister came to join me at the hotel and she arrived later from the airport. They would not give her an extra key to the room. They don't do that, which is fine, but then the bellboy grumbled about taking her up to the room with his key because "he had something else to do." I ran into them in the lobby and then I had to take her back up because the bellboy saw me and asked me to take her, and so I ended up being late for my work appointment. I called down for room service and was put on hold for 5 minutes. I hung up and called back, and then was put on hold for one minute only to be told that I couldn't order room service because the kitchen was being renovated. Not sure why they didn't say that when I checked in? The bathtub had a big leak - specifically it never turned off no matter how much we turned the knob. It was a huge waste of water, and we had to close the bathroom door to be able to sleep. I told the front desk and no one came up to try to fix it or see what the problem was. Awful service. Will never stay here again. The only redeeming value was the wait staff in the Tin Lizzie Lounge. They were so attentive and lovely. read more

I was extremely pleased with the Marqueen. It was much nicer than I had expected, given the relatively low price and great location. We were greeted by friendly staff and our room was spacious and clean. The decor is unique and the hotel has a homey feel, unlike the bigger chain "luxury" hotels. The rooms had kitchenettes with a full size refrigerator, microwave, sink and even an array of dishes and utensils. There was a huge closet with two lovely bathrobes hanging in it. The bathroom was clean with a full size tub, the king size bed was comfortable and roomy (even with six pillows piled on it!) and there were two comfy chairs to sit in. There was a TV off to the right of the bed which might have been difficult to watch if watching in bed, but we didn't use it. Breakfast was included and it was your usual continental--tea and coffee, orange juice bagels, scones, croissants, yogurt and apples. The breakfast room was quiet and cozy. One thing that others complained about was the lack of parking. In the center of Seattle it's not easy to find parking on the street, and we were wary of parking outside anyway. We splurged on valet parking ($20 a day, unlimited) and think we actually came out on top. We came and went a lot, so it would have been difficult to find parking each time and probably didn't pay that much more anyway. The valets were fast and friendly. The other complaint I'd like to address is the noise. Peso's Kitchen is across the street, and is supposedly one of the "hottest bars in Seattle." It was indeed a bit noisy on the weekend nights we were there, and our room was directly across from the bar. However, thanks to the reviews here on Yelp, we we warned and brought ear plugs! Worked like a charm and got a great night's sleep every night. I would highly recommend the Marqueen for value, convenience, and comfort. read more

We stayed here for six days, and found the lobby & rooms just lovely. The interiors have a charming antique aesthetic; we were expecting a spooky vibe but it's really quite warm and cozy. The staff was very personable and accommodating, especially the doormen, who were always quick to open doors for you or carry your luggage. Unfortunately, we did find this hotel lacking in a few departments. I realize this is a very old hotel, but a multilevel building with no elevator is fairly inconvenient. Not sure how they'd accommodate guests who were elderly, disabled, pregnant, etc. The cleaning service here is some of the worst I've seen. They basically replaced the towels in the bathroom and made the bed. We were there for nearly a week, and our sheets were not changed once. The sinks were not cleaned out, the Kleenex box on the first day was nearly empty and was never replaced (even after requesting more at the front desk). They neglected to empty the garbage one day and did not replenish the toiletries on another day. Overall very inconsistent. The breakfast, though included in the booking, was disappointing. It was almost entirely breads/pastries-- donuts, bread, english muffins, bagels, waffles. There was some fruit (apples and bananas) and boiled eggs. Upon peeling the eggs, we found them to be partially frozen inside. The juice offerings were a choice of apple or orange, and both were served luke warm. The seating arrangements were awkward and uncomfortable; breakfast is served in the hotel's restaurant/lounge, which had no dining seats or tables. There was only a random array of stools, ottomans, couches and lounge chairs. It was a cozy setting for drinks with friends in the evening, but as a breakfast spot we found it lacking. It was also extremely dark. All in all, I'd recommend this hotel to a friend as long as they don't have high hopes for breakfast or expect a super clean room each day. read more

We had an amazing stay at the MarQueen! The only bummer is the parking fee. That said, we found street parking to be a more affordable option for the single night we stayed. I really enjoyed the feel of the hotel, it was old, updated slightly, and very clean. I also really appreciated the location and walk-ability of the stay. Front desk was kind and welcoming! After being rained out of our original location several names were given for areas with nice lobbies. Out of 5 only 2 were very kind and accommodating when we called first to see if we could do photos. Our first stop was the Hotel Sorrento and then we attempted out doors again a block from MarQueen Hotel who took us in when it poured again.
