About 20 minutes after leaving, I told my husband what happened and he said I should have waited to get the same set of Bridgestone tires. I had no idea, since I'm not knowledgeable about tires. I immediately called Johnny back and asked if I could speak to a manager to see if they could make an exception since I had just left the shop. He told me that once the tires leave the shop, they are considered used--even though they sell used tires--and that the only option would be to purchase a new set. That would have cost me about $700 more, on top of the $300 I had already spent, totaling around $1,000. I was disappointed they couldn't make any adjustment, especially since no guidance or recommendations were provided upfront--Johnny only mentioned that Bridgestone wasn't in stock. These options weren't discussed when I called the day before either. As a customer, I relied on their expertise, and I feel important information that could have helped me make a better decision was missing. Because of that, the overall experience was disappointing, especially after my husband had left a good review.

I didn't see any of his old crew also making the move as I used to be a regular at his old shop. He told me most went to other shops or have retired. It was nice to see Simon at least. It took an hour to do the oil change. He called me mid job that my engine and cabin air filters needed replacing. $90 (2 filters $55 and labor $35.) I said yes as I was too lazy to do it myself. It would have have taken too much effort to buy the filters myself and install it. ($22 for the engine and $10 for the cabin filter Amazon prices.) There was a slight mishap as they charged me for a synthetic oil change whereas I only got a regular oil change. The billing mechanic (not Simon) messed up. I caught it on the receipt and they had to refund me $26. Otherwise good job everyone at Sunset 76 Auto Repair. Be sure to check your receipt.

At Larkins, I believe the gentlemen's name is Randy, who greeted me and offered me an opening that same morning. He didn't need any explanation or extra details. Just to come back shortly and when I did, all they needed was "45 mins". The confidence in that "45 mins" was completely proven when I received my GTI, it tracks perfectly and feels like the day I drove it off the lot. I highly recommend Larkins! Called around and was getting prices of $200 to $340. Called Larkins and was told fixing a flat was $40...a bit more if they need to clean things. I drove over and within 30 minutes had a fixed tire. And highly detailed and professional work! $10 for the cleaning, so $50 out the door! The tire had uneven wear, so need to go back for rotation and alignment...will be back at Larkins tomorrow for that!

They replace the damaged tire, No questions asked. And now two years later the replaced tire was damaged on its side, by my hitting another curb, and again, they replaced the tire with a brand new one. I certainly wasn't expecting them to replace the replacement tire. That was two years old, Since the original set of tires was bought outside of the warranty.
