I love these guys. I have a 2007 BMW z4 with a rag top. It's too fun to sell with only 38k miles, but it does need service from time to time. Mars has been a life saver. 1st, they are real easy to work with to schedule service and get the stuff done that has to be done no matter how esoteric. For example, I wanted to put in a bluetooth transmitter inline with the radio, but I was having trouble getting the vent grate out to get access Mars hooked me up and installed the unit (sounds great btw). Terrible! Most expensive from any other Mercedes repair shop. That's not the worst because I would pay full price if the service was great. The worst thing is that Victor would never listen to my concerns. I took it back three or four times and finally gave up. I did take it to luzus and had a great experience the first time. I have always said a company cannot be the cheapest, the fastest, the best and most friendly all together. However Victor at Mars is the opposite of all four. I'm sorry to say Victor but my review is 100% accurate and true. I was in your shop several times and you did repairs for us and each time I wondered why I came back. My wife kept saying it was me.... I don't think so! You were nice at first and I was so happy to find someone who could help me but you just wouldn't listen. I don't even think you addressed my concerns, you just fixed what you wanted. I had a warranty and needed repairs done before expiration, you knew that but could care less. I have a business too and if I received as many negative reviews as you are getting then I'd see what's wrong. I will never go to the Mercedes dealership again... unless I move extremely far out of the area. I decided to try MARS Automotive after getting a rediculous estimate for routine maintenance and other items that needed replacing from my dealership. Before I took my car for repairs, I called the shop and asked about their experience and qualifications. I found out they have Mercedes Master Technicians who worked for years at the same dealership shop that I had gone to. However, since this is an independent shop, they do not have to follow the Mercedes-level of repairs/replacement. Basically, Mercedes requires the shops to keep your car at a like new level so you pay tons for service. I decided to take my car in and their estimate was $2K less than the dealership shop!! They went through the estimate I got from the dealership and explained to me why I did or did not need to get the services outlined. They were honest and took time to explain everything. They used all Mercedes parts and I was totally satisfied. Regular scheduled services are half the cost of what I was paying before. I've even called them for advice when I got computer errors and they told me whether or not it was necessary to bring my car in immediately or if I could wait until my next service. read more

The best independent BMW service I have ever received. Victor, Mike and the others went out of their way to provide great service. My car needed a significant amount of repair work, and they did it all professionally, and at a very fair price. They diagnosed some difficult problems, explained what I needed, and took care of everything as promised. Additionally, they assured me that I did not need the new brakes or control arm bearings that another shop recommended. I took my 550 G Wagon to Mars to have the ignition coils replaced, transmission drain & transfer case front & rear fluid drained. Victor worked with my extended warranty company to get everything expedited in a timely manner. Mars gave a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty that covers parts, labor and services performed at Mars group. Victor has excellent communication skills and he was very thorough. He was personable and professional. I wanted to find an Auto shop for my G Wagon in the event it needed service, Mars is the place, and I don't think you'll find a better Mercedes Auto Repair Shop. Did not replace parts as detailed in their quote. Found out about this a year later when I took the car to a reputed BMW mechanic. Had to get their work re-done. Also had to go back to them twice for one fix, not to mention that they kept the car for almost an entire week for a repair that I found out later should take not more than 4-5 hours. I am one of those people that am loyal until forever if I like you and your service...I have always been very wary and scared of taking my car to the auto center to do ANYTHING kind of car service...even if it's to the dealership. I don't trust any mechanic....seems like they're all out to get me....arms legs and ALL.... I did a little researching today and found this place. I really didn't have much of a choice...my car was making funny noises and well...I had to get things done. If I didn't I would just regret it later. So I took it in unwillingly and was pleasantly surprised. The staff...well mostly Victor...he was awesome! Really nice and really HONEST! That was the most important thing to me. He told me everything like it was...He didn't try to hustle me or like MOST mechanics do...I felt comfortable and confident that he knew exactly what he was doing. I don't think I've EVER met a mechanic that was honest to me...and being a girl...and not knowing anything...he didn't treat me like that either. Was very nice and polite. The car is running perfectly and couldn't have been better! I am truly 100% happy with the quality and the service that was at this location. Thank you for being awesome! I'm so happy that I'll have a place to take my car now if there is ever a problem! My worst experience with any business to date. I normally go to American service in Arlington. I decided to try Mars based on reviews. Since my car (500 sl) is a 2003 and hasn't been under warranty for years I wanted to try and save. I work in Manassas sometimes so I really wanted to forge a relationship with Mars and save $. I was hopeful and excited. I made an appt at 830 am, arrived a little late. My first impression was bad and thinking back I should have just left. It's a little before 900am and the gentleman behind the desk was sleep. He woke up took my keys, wrote down some of my issues with car and says someone will call me in a few hours with an estimate. He stated to check why my engine light was on would be free and to check on why my key didn't work would be 99. I didn't make arrangements to rent a car. I was given the impression that I would be given an estimate later that day and could come back later to have the work done. Later that evening Victor calls saying they would need to keep my car overnight. Thanks victor most car rental places are about to close. Ok. I can make it one night with no car. Uber! I ended up spending over$200 on uber attending my meetings. The next day I call victor to tell him I needed my car. I did not make arrangements to be without a car all weekend. I explained what i was told the day before, that they would have an estimate for me that evening. No compassion from victor nothing but a bunch of arguing from him. Really? Is this how you guys get and keep customers? No wonder the lot was empty. I didn't see any customers when I was there. Another bad sign. If you're saving customers $ and are good at what you do.. I would think the lot would be full. I don't know anyone with a Mercedes who doesn't want to save. But as my sister always says .. Sometimes cheap can be expensive! To make a long story short.. nothing was accomplished bringing my car here. The diagnosis was over $300. This cost was not explained to me up front. Another $200 that evening on uber because it was never discussed that my car would be there overnight. I'm out of over $500 due to no one there telling me anything. My car was given back to me in the same condition. Also, the quote that was given for the work needed was in the same ball park as American service center. No savings so not worth all the headache. I just got the feeling that if I did business with them it would only get worse. I'm going back to a place that I can trust. They will bring me a Mercedes to boot! The lesson learned.. is cheap can be expensive and expensive can be expensive! read more

Victor and his staff have the best customer service in the DC Metro area, outstanding. Their hospitality make it really easy to just take in my car. I have brought my 1993 Mercedes 300E for service multiple times as their prices are so much cheaper than the dealerships in the area, and workmanship is of high quality, exceeding my standards. Mar and his technicians went above and beyond on taking care of my c63 AMG, before I heard about Mars Automotive Group I used to take my car to Mercedes Benz of Arlington where I would get my regular maintenance but until I had a intake gasket leak they estimated me the cost for the job and the price was outrageous so a family member of mine recommended me Mars Automotive Group and they took real good care of my C63, the technician even came out to explain how it happened! The team at MARS is very experienced with BMW vehicles. They follow all of BMW's service inspections when it came to my 3 series. Not only is their quality of work held to a high standard but they don't skimp on the quality of parts, which I have found to make a difference with these cars, the parts they put on my car is either the OE or the supplier that makes BMW's parts. Victor is one of the best service advisors I've dealt with. He does a great job of listening to any drivability concerns I inform him about with my car. His communication is awesome! He always kept me up to date and informed about what's going on with my vehicle. Another part of MARS auto I really like is no matter if my car is in for just regular service or a drivability/electrical issue they always take the time to look over my entire car and provide me with a health report. They always let me know what will need to be replaced soon or what requires immediate attention. Cesar is the technician I have to work on my car almost every time I come in. Brought my car in based upon reviews from yelp. Had a code related to a turbo underboost. Turbo was changed per their first diagnosis. Same code 4 months later returns. I asked if the turbo could be replaced as perhaps it was defective. Why would I think it was anything else? Nope...they were not willing to replace the turbo. MARS claims the turbo was just find instead I needed to replace my PCV system. Why could we not catch this the first time? I was already out $1000+ replacing the turbo. To go back and replace the system was an additional$1000. I'm disappointed in the fact that all the checks weren't done initially (smoke test or dye test...something). I felt it was a misdiagnosis. I'm probably riding around with a bad turbo. I even asked if they would reduce the cost of the following repair, since it was throwing the same code, as a courtesy. I hadn't spent enough money to be given a courtesy. They didn't charge me for the second diagnosis and i suppose for that reason: 2stars. I won't be back. It's not a big deal. Too many people willing to build a lasting trustworthy relationship with customers for me to waste my time with one shop. It is definitely buyer beware. Ask questions. Ask to see what is broken and do not leave your car overnight. read more

I usually don't write reviews, but MARS Automotive is as good as it gets. I just bought a used 2005 Benz knowing that I needed to find an auto shop that wouldn't gouge me like the dealerships. I actually took my car to a Mercedes Benz dealership for a post purchase inspection to see all that was wrong with the vehicle. The dealership gave me a laundry list of items that needed attention and quoted a price for each service. I then took my car to MARS to see if they could beat the dealership repair prices. Not only did they thoroughly check over the vehicle, they actually found a couple more major items needing attention and quoted me an overall price even a little less than the dealership. In all, they saved me approximately $1500 dollars when considering the additional items they fixed. However, that is not the impressive part. When I dropped my vehicle off to be serviced, they offered me a ride. I thought they were going to drop me off at the VRE nearby but before I noticed that the gentleman was driving me in a different direction, he asked me where I lived. He then proceeded to drop me off at my home in Springfield, approximately 20 miles away!!! Further, when I took the VRE back to pick up my vehicle, they picked me up at the station. If you check the other reviews on the internet, you'll find that everyone else agrees with me. This is easily the best Mercedes Benz repair shop in the DMV. BTW, my vehicle now drives like it is brand new. I'm a MARS customer for life. God bless. read more
