Overall okay service. They are undergoing renovation. So expect a lot of movement and work around. Just a watch for a very busy parking lot.

I thought I had already wrote a review for them but since I haven't I will go ahead and do it. I give them 3.75 stars because they did do some good work on my vehicle, but not at a 4 or 5 stars in my opinion. I do, however, wish I would have used them before wasting a lot of money, time, and frustration, on another Hyundai dealership in Woodbridge. You all can search for that review as I don't want to rehash it because I believe that review got me to not be Elite in 2024. But anywho... So Safford after that incident with the other place that had my vehicle for over 2-months and did not offer a loaner so I had to pay out of pocket for a rental. Safford was able to get my car working within 2-weeks. Mind you they also said they don't offer loaners and this is a problem especially when the last time I was at their establishment I was there for over 5-hours. I spend a lot of money and not even a month later now my engine light has been on ever since. Instead of them offering me to come in for a free diagnostic and loaner car...they just said come in and we will see what is wrong. Which means to me I will have to wait all day even with an appointment as if I don't have a life and pay for them to "take a look". This is unacceptable especially since I spent a great deal of money already with y'all back in December 2024 and anything wrong with the car you should have found during those 5-6 hours y'all had my car. On top of that they put the oil sticker date "December 2025" as if I would only need one oil change all of 2025...please pay attention to detail y'all! So no I will not be going back to Safford because I found a new place where you don't need to make any appointments for service and I will be able to get a loaner (because I still have a warranty) or dropped off at my house. I quit being a Safford Hyundai customer a little over a year ago when they charged me for repairing one of their repairs (a wheel bearing replacement). No sooner did that happen, when I called for an oil change appointment, I was told it would be 2 - 3 weeks at the soonest. A middle school student could tell you what that was a set up for ! Oh , yah, I bought the car there and had it serviced there for the next 4 - 5 years. Honestly, would YOU treat a longstanding customer like this , expect, him / her to return and not even contact said customer after it was clear the car needed servicing ? I liked to deal with Michael however after 6 months of back and forth of taking my car in.... my car still have the original problem. they fix a pretty serious engine that was find trying that was under a SILENT warranty, a missing cap, broken strap for a belt... anyway the original problem is still there... I would advise people to stay away from this dealership. I got very lucky with my car but looking back once I had bought the car, something that needed to be fix, and promised to be fixed, was never followed through with. I made appointments and he would never call, which ended up delaying the service. Nothing came of it until I went in person and spoke to a different person Carol (I believe) and he was able to give me a solution. Avoid This Dealership and Save Yourself Headache and Time! I've purchased over six Hyundai vehicles in my lifetime from various dealerships, and this is by far the worst and shadiest experience I've ever had. Stafford-Brown Hyundai (Hyundai Stafford Brown) WILL scam you one way or another. Sales Manager Naseer, Salesman David Menjivar, and General Manager David Roach all made promises that were never fulfilled, and now they completely ignore calls, emails, and in-person visits. Once the sale is done, they stop responding altogether. Read the other negative reviews, this is a universal experience and I wish I had listened before I purchased my car from here. They will disavow their "We Owe" list and the manager, Naseer, will claim "someone else" negotiated it, not him. They will pretend to be very nice and on your side right up until you buy the vehicle after that they will ignore all messages, ignore all calls, ignore all emails. When you come to see them in person, they will have you sit and wait for hours while the manager will hide and pretend to be busy. There are lots of other Hyundai dealerships in the area, buy from ANYONE ELSE but Stafford-Brown. As for my experience: - On the day of purchase, the car's side panel was chipped. They told us to just sign the paperwork and promised to replace it before we left. It wasn't replaced. They said "in a few days." It's been over a month and still not fixed. - There was a ketchup stain on the white interior. We were told it would be cleaned before we finished signing. It wasn't. Later, GM David Roach mocked us for caring about a stain in a new car, then promised a fabric specialist would handle it. It's been over a month and still no cleaning. - The finance rep literally left the room while we were reviewing the papers and pressured us to hurry because "other customers were waiting." We later found out the final amount we paid was higher than the out-the-door price quoted. When we asked about it, Naseer claimed he never said that was the out-the-door price, which is false. If they were going to add additional fees, why wouldn't they tell us these fees were being added during the signing, why did we only find out after signing? - Before the sale, we negotiated directly with the sales manager Nasser for mud guards, cargo net, and a few other items that were clearly listed on the We Owe document. Now, Naseer denies ever agreeing to them, even though it's written down and signed. They've ignored every follow-up message about this. This is a dealership that refuses to stand by its word. If you're thinking of buying here, please don't. There are many Hyundai dealerships in the area that will actually treat you fairly and honor their promises. Save yourself the frustration. Drive an extra few miles and buy from a different dealership. Never buy from Stafford-Brown, they will find a way to scam you. I recently purchased a used vehicle and service warranty contract from this dealership for a used vehicle and they would not honor their agreement to pay for repair within the first 30 days of the contract as the warranty hadn't been submitted yet to the company. Buyers beware as the sales team may promise one thing, but the general management and sales managers are outright liars. No one responds to calls or emails after promising to cover cost of the repair, they shuffle employees around claiming they have no knowledge of the transactions. BUYERS BEWARE - I wish I had bought my vehicle through one of their other in-network dealerships and just had the vehicle shipped. Now I'm out $760 for repairs they promised to reimburse but never responded to my emails or calls. Worst experience ever. I just want my money back. David (sales person) & John (finance) were great, but Larry the sales manager made all kinds of promises, then poof gone. And no response from David their GM. read more

Absolutely Terrible Experience - Avoid This Dealership I've had consistently awful experiences at Safford Brown Hyundai in Manassas, but today was the last straw. I had a 10:30 AM appointment (which I received multiple reminders about), and despite showing up on time, my service advisor couldn't even find my information in the system. Strike one. He was also unable to locate any record of a warranty horn replacement that they had previously done. The horn they installed was faulty, and I was back to get it fixed--something that should have been straightforward and covered under warranty. He initially tried to tell me it wouldn't be covered. Spoiler: it was. Strike two. Then, despite me having a prepaid service package, he told me I'd have to pay for the oil change. Once again--incorrect. Strike three. But the worst part? I sat there for two hours before finally going up to ask what was happening with my car, only to be told it hadn't even been touched yet. Why did I make an appointment, then? No one communicated anything with me. I wasted two hours of my day for nothing. The level of disorganization, lack of communication, and frankly rude attitude from the advisor I dealt with today is unacceptable. I'm tired of waiting hours for basic service and being treated like I'm the one causing problems. I'm speaking to the "Service" department in this review. The last two times I have been to Safford were to address recalls. The first time was an appointment that they projected to be 2 hours, but was 5. Sadly, I ignored that red flag and made an appointment, back to Safford for the 2nd recall. Made appointment over the phone where they stated they could perform the service. Wasn't informed this dealership is a construction zone. The lot is chaos with equipment and cars constipating everything. They obviously aren't selling because no one can move or park anywhere due to all the new vehicles strewn everywhere. Signage is either non-existing or incorrect. Techs were racing through the lot like it was a stock car derby. I saw other service customers out photographing their cars from worry of possible damage just from being there. Huge hazard area. Service entrance door was locked but it's all glass so a man did come and I was let in. Service gal checked me in and said that the appointment would be about 1.5 to 2 hours. Sounds good. She said go down the hall (which there were three) and be in the waiting room. I go down the first hall which ended at an exterior door. A nice man opened the door to another lot and instructed me that I could go back outside and clime up into the customer restroom trailer. So be aware that customers don't get indoor plumbing and need to be athletic to get into the makeshift restrooms. I told the nice man I was looking for the Service waiting area. Finally got to it but it was unmarked and also it serves as the employee break room, so be ready for that. Chairs looked like the local Thrift store had thrown them away and Safford scooped them up. I was there about 15 minutes when I got a call saying my "inspection" was done (?!) and to come make an appointment to come back. What?! I go to the service desk and I am told they don't have the part to do my recall. They made up a story saying that my appointment was only to "look at the car" not to do the recall. I asked to speak to the manager who it turns out is the gal that checked me in, the gal that said that everything was set up to do the recall and gave me the time estimate of 1.5 to 2 hours. Naturally I was disturbed by being told one thing and now we have an entirely different story about how my recall will go. They don't know how to "set the expectation" so people are misinformed. She should have realized, and the department should have known they couldn't do the work and never made the appointment, or called me to cancel the appointment instead of making me come over there for nothing. Logically, when they made the appointment they should have ordered the part. However, I'm being fed a bunch of disrespectful nonsense by people that are disorganized and are basically making up stories on the fly. They said I would have to make another appointment and return again when they get the part. Why would I believe anything these inconsiderate people have to say?! I assured them I would not be coming back. I stopped to take a photo of their one sign which says they will charge you 1.5% if you go above their (undetermined amount) charge on a credit card. WOW! See attached. I called Hyundai corporate from my car and they said my recall was not a two visit task (which Safford created to try to cover their ineptness) and that I should have never been asked to go there if they didn't have the part. Hyundai corporate instructed me to go to the next closest Hyundai dealership, which I did and there I was taken as a "walk-in" and the service was performed in less than an hour, with complimentary car wash which is something Safford never does. I don't like to write unpleasant reviews, and have had good buying experiences and written positive reviews for Brown's which "became" Safford, but the Service department is poorly run and they don't care about wasting customers time, and inconveniencing people. They basically have a "forgive us for mistreating you because we are pitifully in under construction conditions" attitude. The dealership expansion to make more money is not something the customer should be mistreated and massively inconvenienced by. I'm a repeat purchaser and Service customer from Brown's/Safford and this is how they treat me. Maybe you'll do better if you're new. Again, per my call to Hyundai corporate from Safford's parking lot, I drove right to the next closest dealership where they were able to do the work (because they stock parts like dealerships that think ahead) and worked me into their busy schedule and accomplished the job efficiently. I should have been able to receive that from Safford. Safford has two Hyundai dealerships near me but I will not be going to either for service or any future purchases. read more

I scheduled a service online and clearly selected only what we needed, which was quoted around $300 -- pretty standard pricing. When we arrived, the service advisor didn't clearly explain what was actually going to be done. He spoke vaguely, so we assumed they were doing exactly what we requested online. During the visit, he told us we might need a wheel alignment since it hadn't been done before. He said it would cost about $200, and that was the only additional service we agreed to. After waiting for about 3 hours, he came back and said the service was done -- and handed us a bill for $1125. We were shocked. He said they had completed the "35,000-mile service package," which we never asked for and never agreed to. We only found out what was actually done after he printed out the full list of services, post-payment. After we pushed back, he stepped away and returned with a "discounted" total of $863. I've used Safford Brown Hyundai Manassas for years without any big issues, but things started to feel off recently after my regular service advisor changed. Pricing started creeping up, and this time I wasn't even able to request a different advisor -- even though I had a previous bad experience with the same person. I truly hope other customers are able to work with someone honest and clear, because it really does make a difference in how you're treated. This kind of vague communication and surprise billing is unacceptable. It felt like we got tricked. If you plan to come here, make sure everything is confirmed in writing beforehand, and don't rely on verbal explanations -- they're too vague and easy to misinterpret. Kevin, my advisor, assured me over the phone that replacing my front brakes and rotors would cost about $500-$600, which matched other quotes I had received. That was the only reason I brought my car here. What he failed to mention was that this price did not include labor. When I came to pick up my car, I was blindsided with a total of $820.97. Even when I questioned the amount, I wasn't told it was because of a $415 labor charge. Instead, I got a vague explanation that "everything is original." This review is specific to the service center in 2024. I had an appointment for an oil change - simple enough. I arrived within 5 minutes of the start time. There was an employee in the entry to the garage on his phone. He told me not to slip (it had been raining), that was probably the highlight of my experience. I left my keys on the front seat and proceeded inside. My Service Advisor was not there. I checked in with a woman seated in the service check in area. I specifically asked if it was busy and about the wait asking if it would be an hour or less and she confirmed. I then went to the waiting area. I thought that the signs for "complimentary snacks available upon request" was tacky, while I can understand that some take advantage they weren't "available" as I know Hyundai corporate likes them to be. After ~10 minutes of waiting, the Service Advisor approached me, letting me know that my car was no longer covered under free maintenance from when I purchased it. Not a problem, I already knew and didn't mind. He came back a few minutes later, making the key gesture in the air. He asked for the keys to the vehicle. I replied I left them on the seat. He said they were not on the seat. I panicked but remained composed. He didn't come back to confirm that that is where they were, so I continued to wait in hopes that my vehicle was not stolen, haha. After I had been at the dealership for just over 20 minutes, the Service Advisor approached me again. He advised that the normal wait for an oil change is 1-1.5 hours, but they were busy today and it would be 2-2.5 hours. I smiled and thanked him. After sitting and checking that I had already been there for 20 minutes, I didn't want to possibly spend 3 hours there. I went and asked for my keys back. The Service Advisor didn't offer to reschedule me and no apology was made. I reached out after and did not receive any response. As a result, I traded in my Hyundai for another brand. read more

You can buy a car anywhere, don't do it here. We were made to wait for 45 minutes to see the finance manager, we get into his office and it wreaked of food. After going over a few contracts we walked out, left us there for 45 minutes, he walks back in "sorry my boss caught me in the hall". After finally purchasing the car, I have the plates, and walk out to meet my salesman David Menjivar. He is nowhere to be found. At this point all he has to do is give me the keys and mount the plates. I wait 20 minutes and he finally comes out. He threads the plates so bad that we had to call a mechanic out (another 40 minutes). So I eventually leave with a rattling back plate with 3 screws in it. But here's where it gets really bad. My salesman (David Menjivar) says he is going to order the bushings or whatever to fix the plate (a $2 part), I say okay. Later I get home and realize that driving an hour back to Manasas isn't ideal so I send him an email "could you ship the part to my house" NO RESPONSE A few days later I send another email NOTHING. I was chatting with the finance manager about some missing paperwork and I asked him to maybe talk to David, still nothing. I called multiple times, no answer. I left a voicemail, no response. It's not a complicated thing this part, but the lack of communication has me feeling queasy. As I said before, just go ANYwhere else and role the dice there. read more

I flawlessly bought my sonata here in 2017. In 2024 phenomenal customer service again!!! Bridgett and EVERYONE I spoke to here has outstanding customer service skills. They don't BS you. They get straight to the point. An example.... My daughters car had a problem with the hood sensor. Instead of trying to get me to come in multiple times like the location closest to me, this location ordered the part, fixed the problem, and I was out in 45 MINUTES!!! This location needs to train everyone at the koons of woodbride!!! If minimal waste to your time is important along with feeling at ease in knowing you ARE being cared for is a priority, then this location is the one!!!! Santa Cruz does not even have 30,00 miles on it and the heater is not heating properly. Have to wear a coat while driving. Service advisor verified, but after 4 working days, I still don't have the vehicle back and they say there are 20 something people ahead of me on the waiting list for a loaner. Service advisor says Hyundai will not replace any heater components under warranty until the heater blows below 82 degrees as compared to the normal 124 degrees. Ridiculous. So now, I have to pick up the vehicle and drive it the rest of the winter with a coat on. Also had to have warranty work done only a couple weeks ago to deal with a rattle sound coming from rear shocks which was happening as soon as I purchased the vehicle. So far so good with the new rear shocks, but not happy with the brand or the service. Service advisors are not keeping me updated either. Playing the silent game. I have to call them. read more

Was very happy with my two oil change tire rotation visits ( only service visits ever abs only tire removal) UNTIL I developed a leak in my tire and the tire company wasn't able to remove my tire due to the locking lugnuts adapter was gone. I've called and left two messages for the service manager abs haven't received a call back. I'm guessing this is an interesting way to upsell a customer as I've been quoted from 150-180 to replace it. Arkeem and Povl were the duo dream team. Arkeem was so informative and patient while helping me look for my perfect car. It came to a point where there was one specific model that I really wanted, but the color I wanted wasn't at this lot. He and his team (Amanda was the manager, phenomenal and so helpful) worked so hard to find nearby Hyundai branches that had my specific car, and I am so so, so grateful that they put the work and effort into getting me what *I* wanted. It was at a facility an hour away and they drove it to me that day, I walked away with it that day. After finding the perfect car, Povl was the finance savant who helped explain my finance options, but also did a fantastic job helping me understand my "best" options!! This is my first true adult vehicle, the first car I've purchased myself, and there's a lot of unknowns when you're jumping in for the first time. I would leave zero stars if possible! We have had nothing but issues with this dealership. I will start with the car itself. We are having starter issues as well as stalling issues with our 2023 Santa Fe that we purchased new in April 2023. We have had the car to service twice with no resolve. This is our only car and they refuse to allow us a loaner so this coming Friday we are paying out of pocket for a rental car in order to drop the car off for the day. We have provided video as well as spoken with the service manager Sam on the phone and his solution was to make us an appointment for October 21st to drop the car - after knowing we are having major issues with the car starting and stalling. He didn't even follow up with us after telling us he would. Also, each time we have been in for service, we are never acknowledged, all the advisors are sitting behind the desk on their cell phones and we have to say loudly hello in order for someone to look up. Next issue is refund of warranties purchased through the dealership at time of purchase. We requested with Mr. Wise in finance on 08-08-2024 that the paperwork be sent to the two companies to cancel three warranties. I followed up with the warranty companies end of August and they had never received the paperwork. I attempted to contact Mr. Wise in finance several times. He would never respond so we went to the dealership and met with Kerri in finance. Not only was she rude, she was not helpful either. They blame accounting for everything. I have now confirmed with the warranty companies all three have been cancelled but the dealership is responsible for refunding two of the three to the bank. Again, nobody is helping or providing us any type of contact information for accounting - which is who finance keeps blaming for the delay. We are now waiting again with no resolve. I have filed a complaint with BBB with no response. We have searched online for someone higher up in the company to contact but we keep getting routed back to the dealership. Our hope is to get rid of this lemon and never have to deal with this dealership again. This experience has turned us off of the brand itself - we will never purchase another Hyundai again. This is the worst all around experience we have ever had with a car brand or dealership. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

All the reviews are correct this is my second car and it's just ridiculous wait time, rude employees apart from sales department and just all around awful service. I waited 2 hours for low tire pressure that I brought in a week prior for the same issue same tire for a car I purchased less than a month prior to that. They spent two hours with this being my 2nd appointmet for the same issue to then tell me it's a nail in my tire and the comprehensive coverage I purchased 3 weeks prior doesn't cover it. After spending several days looking for our next Santa Fe, I had found that Browns was offering me the best price. OR so it seemed. Yesterday I received an email from a sales manager with the price "OTD", two quotes with two manager names on them, and I was ready to buy. I had sent them my driver's license and the salesman told me they would detail it and give us a tank of gas. Then came the call around 4:00. The manager, who's name was on two of the quotes, said we're sorry, we can't sell it for that price. I said ok and ended the call. I called my wife, whom was planning to get off work early to get her car, told her that we would not be getting one today. I'm 60 years old. I'm use to honesty and integrity. I had purchased it somewhere else, so I was concerned there may be some issues with getting the Hyundai service agreement switched over. My car had to have an engine recall performed. They had my car for over a month, never had a rental car for me and did not communicate with me on a regular basis. The corporation only offered $30 a day reimbursement for a car rental, but it's more than $50 a day to rent a car. I contacted Hyundai corporate about getting a reimbursement of some kind for the month I was without a car, they will not do anything. I only went back to Hyundai because they had great customer service, they took care of their customers. I have not been taken care of. My 2020 Hyundai had major engine damage and the car was barely a year old. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of service and communication with both the dealership and the corporation. read more

Somebody needs to call me about removing the warranties that were added on when i purchased in Dec '21 - yes, its that long - i never wanted any warranties but they were thrown in there by carrie - to your credit 2 were removed 5 months later - but 2 are still active & i have to pay for this prorated amount of 4 yrs i think it is/ . I just replied to Shak.Alfonso@brownscar.com and still stand by statement here. The black Calligraphy Palisade listed at Brown's of Manassas still, for 49,450 is an incorrect price. The true price is much higher. I live in Manassas and went to see the markup in person. I posted so others that are in the market don't make a long drive here thinking they will purchase at this price is all. Sales dept is absolutely horrible. They will low-ball women and service members on trade-ins. Save the time and go to a more reputable dealer. There's other Hyundai dealers in the area if that is the make you are set on. They also try to pressure you for unnecessary add-ons to cars. read more
