Gluten Free is a must have in our family. We enjoyed the Chattanooga location a few years prior so when we found a location within 10 minutes of our hotel in Amelia Island, we were quite excited. Unfortunately we picked a day where 2 cooks and 1 server all called in sick so we had to wait about 40 minutes for our food. Note- This review does not reflect this wait time, only the food and prices. When the food finally arrived it was just sub par and also had me questioning the high prices. I ordered the chicken caesar wrap with a side of the deviled egg potato salad and an additional side of the cheddar mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was $5.99. $5.99 for no more than 3 ounces of sub par mac and cheese. They are making a killing on their side dish prices. Kraft mac and cheese would have been better and 1/6th the price. The wrap was average at best. The workers were working hard for being understaffed, I will give them that. We really have no desire to come to a Bantam and Biddy again if we are in the area. read more

We had an enjoyable experience here for breakfast. They open at 7, which many other places do not here so that's a big plus! Loads of gluten-free options. I had the 2 egg breakfast and added avocado. The eggs were cooked perfectly. I also tried a fireball latte...delicious! Not spicy as the name might lead you to believe. Great cinnamon flavor. I had mine with soy milk and it was quite creamy. Amanda helped us at the counter and she made the coffee. She had that filled to the rim and somehow didn't lose a drop on the way to the table. The coating is well seasoned but if you get meat bites without the breading, it is bland/underseasoned. The Mac and cheese was very good though a little pricey for the serving size. The friendliest lady at the order counter to start! She was so nice, so friendly and had all sorts of good suggestions. We were craving breakfast and they serve eggs late in the day so we came to check it out. My bf had the biscuit egg sandwich and it was a good size. Everything is sort of à la carte, so he also added a side of the breakfast potatoes. I did the breakfast tacos and they were HUGE! I needed a side plate to be able to eat them! The fried chicken (tenders) were phenomenal. A light crispy batter and not greasy at all. Overall very good food and plenty of seating inside. I decided to eat here from a friend who recommended it. I ordered the caesar wrap with sweet potato fries and fried pickles. Unfortunately, I would not recommend the caesar wrap at all. Needless to say the chicken was extremely dry, and most of the wrap was just lettuce. There was very little dressing, and the tortilla was falling apart, making it hard to eat since it was practically crumbling. The sweet potato fries were the absolute best i've had from any restaurant, I would come back just for those. The fried pickles were extremely salty, and the ranch it came with was very runny. It's a fast pace place, they were very busy, so I give them grace. Front end staff was very kind and helpful, they did not rush us when ordering. The food was Waffle House quality in my opinion, but much more expensive. $70 for 3 people, is wild to me. The only edible thing was the eggs. Nice little place hidden in a corner of a shopping center. I have been wanting to try it for awhile. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The menu is on the wall and you order at the counter. The lady at the counter was very helpful. I had the banana bread waffle with chicken. I thought banana but banana bread so it took me a minute to appreciate wonderful flavor. The chicken waffles are incredible. The chicken was amazingly moist and it has gluten-free. Waffle came with syrup and butter. That was excellent. I had an egg white omelette with plain grits and really enjoyed it. Jalapeños were very fresh. Lastly, the sweet potato fries are incredible. Nothing wiggly, all crisp, clearly homemade. This was our first time trying this place. When you come in you order at the counter. The lady taking out order was super friendly and helpful. I changed my coffee order part way through and when I apologized she said no worries, I will make anything you want. So very genuine. I got a Cozy Cinnamon Roll Latte. I really liked it, just wish there was a little more Cinnamon flavor in it. It was still delicious! She was training someone on making a latte and came over to make sure it was made well, I told her it was, my preference doesn't change how good the drink was made! I ordered the protein scramble. Visited for breakfast on New Year's Day. I was expecting a sit down restaurant and was surprised to see the order counter and menu posted in the wall when we walked in. Once you order and pay, you're given a number for a table or booth if your choosing and the food is brought to you. I had checked the menu and reviews beforehand and knew I would order the fried chicken and cheddar waffle. My husband ordered an omelette that is offered with grits (he is not a fan) Beware of the 'no substitution' policy. The orange juice is fresh squeezed and delicious - expensive and worth it. The chicken tenders were hot, tasty and surprisingly juicy. The cheddar waffle with bourbon maple syrup was beyond great. The omelette was also fresh, hot and more than filling even without a side. We couldn't finish all of the food. Our longer than expected wait time for food was justified by everything being delivered fresh and hot. A little impersonal for a breakfast spot, but overall a varied menu well executed. read more

Maybe they should consider actually installing a couple bathrooms so that the people don't have to wait in a line going through the restaurant as their other patrons or trying to eat. We waited 10 minutes so she could makes drinks for a previous customer, took our order and 20 minutes before I went back and yet again asked for a cup so I could get my own coffee. Food was horrible. I'm a huge breakfast fan and in the 3.5 years I have lived in Fernandina Beach, Ive eaten at the local breakfast places. All good in their own right, but until today that I ate at Bantam & Biddy, for the first time, I can say I believe I found my favorite breakfast place! This is judging from the amazing Southern Deluxe platter, the scrambled eggs were fresh, soft but not runny nor dried. The bacon fried to a crispy perfection, not burnt or undercooked. The grits, creamy and taste like it didn't come out of a box. Then the pancake, fluffy and spongy; they didn't get soggy even after the half a pint of syrup I poured over. This also comes with fried okra...yes, you read that right. This was also perfectly fried, the batter was crispy and crunchy and none of that okra slime that gives it a bad reputation. And finally, the cheese jalapeño cornbread, a small muffin that has the right amount of heat with good texture, not crumbly dry. Yes, I ate like a Viking in this unusually cold day in Northern Fl. We woke up to 24 degrees; the vegetation and some natives are not happy about that, so I needed this gigantic meal to keep warm. There are so many tempting options on the menu at Bantam and Biddy, but I normally have a hard time ordering anything besides the Southern Cobb Salad. It's like the Fresh Prince said, "Cause if it ain't broke, then don't try to fix it". Thanks to the menu board outside the restaurant, I stepped outside of my comfort zone due to yesterday's special of a Breakfast Burger, and I'm glad I took a chance. The lead actors of the special - burger and biscuit - it's like they read a page of my hangover diary. Burger, biscuit, egg, avocado, and bacon - where you at Hardee's? The special lived up to the standard. My ex-girlfriend, now wife, got the Southern Cobb with sautéed shrimp - they nailed it, again. The food was fresh, and the menu is diverse, but this is not a traditional breakfast place. This is high-priced food with add-ons costing more. Not table service, you stand in line at the counter and order, just as soon as they're finishing making expresso for somebody else. As I said, the food was good but the hollering from the kitchen staff made the visit difficult to appreciate. "cozy Seating"? Not from where we sat. You want coffee? This was a weather day in Fernandina Beach so I took that into consideration. The Restaurant only had one person running the register, cleaning tables, and serving customers seated at the tables. They had to have at least one person cooking the meals, but I cannot attest to that. The young man working the front was apparently new and struggled with the cash register and taking orders, constantly referring to the menu. I made several other observations but in fairness to this business I'll stop here. I would hope in the future, if they're going to open their doors then have adequate staffing.
