It's a good place for people like me who like bargain hunting. One of the big draws for me has been the craft section. Unlike its competitors, Tuesday morning sells yarn. I've been able to find some great color ways in natural fibers for $5 a skein from brands that I recognize. It can be hard to find enough of the same skein for a big project though and they have less yarn than usual. I've also been able to find markers and pencils from brands like Marvy and Spectrum Noir. It's also been a great place for finding candles and blankets. When my husband and I got our first Christmas tree I was able to find a lot of unique and awesome ornaments for $5 a piece that were made from porcelain or metal. Yes I could get cheaper ornaments at Dollar Tree next door but they did not look as nice. During Covid the shopping experience has been a bit more difficult. Everyone is wearing masks but the instructions on which direction to take down the aisle aren't followed. They put down blue tape arrows which was be difficult to see. It's a similar situation at check out -- there are tape asterisks. Yesterday people were standing there not realizing it looked like the were in line and the cashier didn't say anything to them. Also, I know that we aren't supposed to use plastic bags anymore but I don't drive and sometimes need them to transport bigger items home on rainy days. They used to have huge awesome plastic bags as recently as last year, but stopped offering them. They often have awesome looking floral wreaths and I've wanted to get one for a long time. I bought it yesterday but wasn't asked if I wanted a bag, just told to pay. Then when I said I needed a bag I was told that the only bags they had cost 5 cents and what I was shown looked like it wouldn't fit the wreath. Even though there were no customers behind me, the cashier expected me to make a decision right away. So I ended up having to carry the wreath on my arm into the next store and on my way home, which was inconvenient. I know Tuesday Morning is struggling right now since they filed for bankruptcy and closed a lot of stores. Add Covid on top of that and it's probably not an easy time to work there. But I wish the cashiers were a bit friendlier and more understanding about accessibility issues. I would probably shop there more often if that were the case.

Luciano, another sales associate found me about 5 minutes after to let me know they found a box of these hot dogs. As I type this, it doesn't seem like a big deal, but I immediately thought, I wish I employed someone like this young man. He did not need to seek me out and provide me hat u was searching for, but he did. I can only imagine all the other people that he has helped that has gone unnoticed.

It usually doesn't feel busy as you are shopping, but I have experienced having to wait in a long self check out line more often than not. When I entered the store, I wondered if they were still in business as there were hardly any people shopping. In an hour of wandering various departments in search of deals, I saw maybe 10 other shoppers. And only 2 fitting rooms open on the far ends of the store. But what I did find were a few really nice sweaters and several pairs of wide and straight leg jeans at really reasonable prices. I opted for a gorgeous teal, blue and plaid long, duster style cardigan with pockets. It's a Liz Claiborne, which I haven't purchased in years, but the colors, style and pattern was exceptional. On sale for $38 from $60, and a coupon for another 20% off bringing it to under $32.00, I couldn't pass on it. I'm so glad I didn't because it's absolutely stunning! Wish the cool weather would arrive so I can wear it! At the customer pick up counter, I went to retrieve the jeans I ordered online. It had been 4 hours since I placed the order, but I never received a message saying my order was ready. I was ready to leave, so went and inquired at the counter. Sure enough they had the jeans, but they are dealing with a transition to a new system so text messages weren't sent. Well, if the jeans had been there when I arrived, I never would have browsed the store to kill time, and wouldn't have found my new cardigan, so it all worked out.

My mother is elderly and I have a difficult time breathing without proper air ventilation so I got sick within minutes. All customers that walked in from the mall to JcPenney immediately felt the drastic change in temperature. I am giving them grace and hope it was a mechanical mishap and not intentional. I know business is bad, but that made it worst because we couldn't shop under those circumstances. I hope they take care of that!

I chose a bunch of different trays and headed home to make a dinner spread. We added rice and pan fried noodles made at home and it was a great birthday dinner. Everyone was happy and a big bonus, that I ALWAYS worry about with raw fish items, no one had any upset stomachs.
