It was so stuffy, it was actually difficult to breathe. I'm very aware we were in Miami and I am very aware of how hot Miami is; I live in this state for goodness sakes, but I don't think it should be more miserable in the store than outside in the shade. The store is dirty and not at all organized. It's difficult to find anything and very difficult to move around in. I felt like I had been packed into a sardine can. We made our way to the back of the store and I had enough of the "coziness" so it was time to leave. I was just way too crowded in. If you have trouble with closed spaces and being to close to people, this is absolutely NOT the store for you. I didn't interact with anyone who worked in the store other than the security guard at the front when we were leaving. He was very kind and gave a great recommendation for a nearby restaurant. It was really pleasant speaking with him (darn it, I always forget names). Accessibility: Navigating this store easily in a wheelchair... absolutely not. I mean, it can be done, but it is difficult as the aisles are very small. Even the main aisles from the front to the back of the store are very small. Accommodating to my Service Dog.

I used to work nearby and would walk here everday on my lunch hour for something to do. But there really wasn't much here. Then they began to do a lot of contruction and I switched jobs. now i've been back, it looks really nice. A few resturants added, and a bit more reason to stick around. Mostly I come here for the Winn Dixie. Here's a few tenants: Winn Dixie Supermarket, movie theater, TJ Maxx, Old Navy, and Bermuda Bar & Grill. And a few more but i can't remember the name. But its a nice looking upgrade to what was there before!

It just puzzles me how places like the Ipic cinema or any of the restaurants can present themselves in such a filthy way, their excuse being that its not their responsibility to do it, but, still, its the face you are presenting, go pick up the trash in front of you, its your planet after all. Anyway, apparently there is a new security/management company and they seem on top of their game, the mall is spotless now (maybe fat Dezer read my review). Really personable managers Carlos and Willie are making sure the mall is now well kept as far as trash, there's a nice lady in a golf cart with oversize tweezers picking up stuff, nice. ...but don't go on weekends, there's an out of control crowd that rent big party boats, mostly black people for some reason and they come back totally trashed and really misbehave, hey, have to call it like it is! Diners sat at Duffys and other restaurants are exposed to the very worst of drunken behavior by those who are shouting loud for equality, as my Dominican (black) friend remarked as we experienced the worst of food at Duffys, "woah, that's not a good look for our cause''! The Duffys white middle-aged burger eaters are not the type to forgive their already ingrained stereotype and the shitfaced crowd disembarking are just what they want to cement their discriminatory thoughts. Admittedly they are mostly out of town tourists having a good time and don't give a shit how they are being perceived, shame really, all I ask is don't chuck your Hennessy bottles in the mangroves, its so hard to get them out of the tangled roots), oh and just because every other word in a song nowadays is ''fucking'' it doesn't mean you have to repeat them. Oh, and please, if you don't have the body for a thong don't bring it on vacation with you, my God. Try a weekday if you thinking about going to the Intracoastal mall.

The mall is close to a Sole Mia, a future mixed use development with residential housing, a hotel, and a university campus. Publix, ULTA, and Petco are the anchor stores at Biscayne Commons. Retail stores include Bath and Body Works, Jetset Miami, and Keo Eyewear. You can dine at TGI Friday's, Oishi Thai, 1000 Degrees Pizza, and La Birra Bar. My friend and I came to the shopping plaza for the pop up shop Max'd Out Donuts by Miami's donut king, Max Santiago. Santiago is known for his time at the Salty Donut where he created the famous brioche dough and for opening Batch, the Cookie company in Ft. Lauderdale. He has consulted on opening donut shops all around the world. Until the permanent store opens in Biscayne Commons, you can follow Max'd Out Donuts on Instagram to order boxes which can be picked up in front of the soon to be opened store. This was my first time visiting this shopping plaza and it seemed upscale and well kept. There is a fountain near where the donut store will be. There is a nice mixture of the kinds of stores people need, along with services, and dining. Parking is easy and plentiful. I'm sure once Max'd Out Donuts opens, I'll be stopping by whenever I am in the area.

Walmart has been rolling out remodeled stores that they are calling the Store of the Future. They are sinking more than half a billion dollars into upgrades to create a more modern shopping experience. It's costs approximately $750,000 to transform each store. 150 stores will be upgraded over the next five years. One of the first stores made their debut in The Villages. This supercenter store seems much larger than your typical Walmart. It is spotless and the organization is more aligned to an upscale department store. Remodeled stores have new paint, new signs, more shopping carts, a new checkout design at the front of the stores and more space for both shoppers and employees. The pharmacies will be increased and the vision center will be updated. The grocery pickup and delivery programs are expanded along with the produce and deli sections, an added new Grab & Go section, and new community-focused food and merchandise offerings. This store was very crowded but I was impressed. I was floored to see actual displays! Clothing options were vast and organized neatly by size. I could have shopped here all day. For once was my cart was not a hunk of junk but rolled and maneuvered smoothly. While there was a line to check out it moved very quickly. I had my choice of a paper receipt but I also had it texted to my phone. No more lost or smudged receipts, genius! If this is what Walmart has in store for the future bring it on. By the way you can do much more than just shop for needed items and groceries. You can also get your phone fixed, do your taxes, get your nails done, check your vision, and eat at Churro Mania and Charley's Cheesesteaks. This Walmart is not much better than my local store. The only thing I am disappointed in is that it isn't closer to me!
