I didn't interact with anyone who worked in the store other than the security guard at the front when we were leaving. He was very kind and gave a great recommendation for a nearby restaurant. Santiago is known for his time at the Salty Donut where he created the famous brioche dough and for opening Batch, the Cookie company in Ft. Lauderdale. He has consulted on opening donut shops all around the world. Until the permanent store opens in Biscayne Commons, you can follow Max'd Out Donuts on Instagram to order boxes which can be picked up in front of the soon to be opened store. This was my first time visiting this shopping plaza and it seemed upscale and well kept. There is a fountain near where the donut store will be. There is a nice mixture of the kinds of stores people need, along with services, and dining. Parking is easy and plentiful. The cashier who served me on August 18th around 12:40 PM, counter #2, named Marie St.Louis (as I can remember her name, because she refused to let me photograph her badge, as a sign of unprofessionalism and at-fault behavior), refused to refund me on a returned order # 31895357847. The returned items were in a pristine condition, returned within return time, and return was started online. I presented the bar code and order number at the counter, all in accordance with your online return policy. Yet, the cashier refused to pay me the refund claiming that I need to show her the email from my personal phone--a requirement that does not exist in your published terms.. She continuously reminded me that she does not have time for 'all this'. The responding manager failed to intervene or rectify the situation, displaying a complete lack of professional standard. Ultimately, the store confiscated my merchandise but refused to issue my lawful refund. Instead, they forced an unauthorized gift card return on me, the balance of which I cannot verify. Because my return was fully accepted, the store's refusal to credit my original payment method constitutes an unauthorized conversion of funds. As I no longer intend to shop with Marshalls due to this abusive customer experience, I require immediate corporate intervention to reverse this action. To resolve this matter, I require the following actions within 5 business days: 1. Full Refund Reversal: Void the issued gift card and credit the full amount of approximately $100 back to my original form of payment. 2. Order Modification: For my subsequent online order (#31936969802), ensure a physical paper receipt is included in the shipment to bypass any further digital obstruction by your store staff. 3. Disciplinary Review: Forward this incident to the District Manager to address the hostile behavior, policy ignorance, and lack of professionalism exhibited by Marie St. Louis and the management on duty.
