I ordered a 3 drawer dresser online. Upon opening the delivery box I discovered it had extensive damage to the back side and minor damage to the top. After searching the item on their website for a replacement the item was nowhere to be found. I can't help but to think this item was being phased out of inventory and was perhaps one of the last remaining. That said it should have been marked down due to being damaged. Several years ago, the Marshall's/TJ-Maxx of Oak Lawn on Cicero was second only to the former awesome flagship Marshall's location just off of Michigan Avenue. And either were great places to find great buys on designer outerwear by the likes of Ann Klein, Kenneth Cole or London Fog, and more... But, unfortunately, in recent years it seems that all of the Marshall's stores have gone downhill, both, in terms of inventory and overall customer service. As i've said in other reviews, there was a time when you could be sure to find a great coat or shoe selection at either of the Marshall's or their TJMaxx branded stores, but no longer.. Unless you're simply looking fr luggage, bedding or kitchen cookware accessories, look elsewhere as you won't find much by way of fashion selection availability. Really disappointed in the way Marshall's/TJ-Maxx has downgrades the overall quality of it's inventory/brands over the years. Today, shoppers can find much better deals by simply waiting for one of the the black-Friday or black-monday sales at one of the better stores such as Nordstrom's or Macy's, and in a pinch perhaps, maybe Burlington's for outerwear and DSW for footwear. but, Unfortunately the decline in variety and quality of goods leaves only a One Star rating for the formerly awesome retail giant One Star (Needs Restructuring) Grade D--minusMinus! read more

This is by far the worst Marshall's and Spring (supposedly a manager) is the rudest individual I've come in contact with. The store is unorganized and their customer service is poor at best. It is because of the customers they are employed, so they should have better demeanors when it comes to customer contact. I left the Oak Lawn location and went to the Chicago Ridge location and it was a world of difference. Love me some Marshall's! As you know, buying from Marshall's can be hit or miss. You may find an awesome dress, but not in your size. So...you go to the next closest Marshall's hoping they have your size. It's just the way it works! This Marshalls on numerous occasions has been the Marshalls I find the dress or shirt I am searching for in my size. I don't know why, but this one has a greater chance then most of having size XS, Small and size 4 in stock. Hooray for that. Now what I love most about this Marshalls is that their toy section, although small, beats the pants off any other Marshalls toy section in the area. I don't know why, but they just seem to have some awesome toys that I don't find at other Marshalls. They always have really cool Play-doh sets that my girls and nieces and nephews go nuts over. I just got a cool Sweet Shoppe candy maker Playdoh set for 14.99 and a cookie making Play-doh set for 9.99. It's basically half price compared to what you would pay in Target for those sets aaannnnd I haven't seen those 2 sets at Target. I've also gotten some very cool toys from here to give out as Christmas and Birthday gifts in the past. Like Monster High, Barbie, Melissa and Doug, Spider Man stuff and a ton of craft stuff like a tye-dye set, jewelry making stuff, art set. All at unbeatable prices. Also, for some reason...the stuff does not get beat up here which is a huge plus. I have found cool toys at other Marshalls locations in the past..but had to pass on it because I just felt weird giving a dented box as a present. Haven't really had that problem here. read more

Ok, it's not the greatest Marshall's ever, but it's the one I'd choose from this area. It has way more merchandise than the Marshall's by Chicago Ridge Mall, & it's a bit cleaner than the one by Ford City Mall. So if you're in the area, or just not up for the drive, this is the location I would go with. read more

I believe some ppl who's gone to this store may not like it because they are used to "better". I am used to worst stores, thus is why I gave this place a higher rating. This Marshalls has furniture and beautiful decorative items. There is a big section for shoes and clothes. The handbag section has bags for $145...Where I'm from there is NEVER designer bags. Just the urban crap no one wants to buy. This is one of those stores that you buy what you need on the first visit and get other things else where. read more

I cannot believe what ignorant, rude, unintelligent morons work here. I had the rudest woman check me out. As I came to her register, she never once greated me with "Hello," "How are you, sir?" "Did you find everything okay?." Nothing. She then rings me up and stares at me. Giving her another opportunity to redeem herself, I wait for her to give me my total. She instead continues to stare at me! Finally, I ask, "What's my total?" Instead of actually telling me, she POINTS TO HER REGISTER! Really? So I've gone from annoyed to angry. Then I take out my cash and place it on the register and, believe it or not, she says to be me, "I would have preferred it in my hand." ARE YOU KIDDING WITH ME? Am I on candid camera? I had an awful experience at the Oak Lawn, IL location today. I had already called to file a complaint earlier about my store visit today because both employees I had interaction with were rude. The manager Deanna called and left two voicemails. When I called back I was placed on hold for over 15 mins to return to her call. I hung up and called back. I asked the woman Norma who answered the phone if she could please let Deanna know It was Hailey returning her call, she replied, "i ain't got time for that." I repeated that statement to her and she said yes. I was furious by that response as I was returning the managers phone call. I repeated myself and she said," are you slow or something?" "I can't even here you, are you slow?" And began to chuckle with employes in the background AND THEN TOLD ME TO HAVE A GOOD DAY AND HUNG UP. I am Beyond dissapointed. I have family who are special needs and it is not something I take lightly. There is no acception for someone to say that especially when I am a customer returning a phone call. I'm not sure how things work over at that locatation but I will never spend my money at that store again and will make sure everybody I know won't either. It was a horrible experienced and made me very upset that I was treated in that manor while trying to resolve the incident I had earlier in the store. Clearly the employee Norma is biaist of of people who are special needs and for her to be working with the public is not the field for her! I walked in with my best friend who purchased a shirt for me. I tried on the shirt and unfortunately it was too big. I took off the original tags, but still had the original gift receipt. I walked in the store and one of the managers told me the gift receipt no longer matches the description of the items. (my bf bought the shirt in March 2014 and I tried returning it around the 9th of May 2014). Now I understand it doesn't match but that is the original gift receipt for the $29 shirt. Obviously someone at the store put the wrong tag on the shirt and it was rung up wrong. Unless the UPC changed to another item over period of 2 months. Again never wore it, I tried it on. Now I feel like it was unfair to tell me they can't do anything about it and they can't look it up by card or anything. I work for Walgreens and I know for a fact we are able to look up by credit card so why can't Marshalls do it. I was very displeased that I couldn't exchange the shirt for other items. I am a customer who hardly shops there if ever. I will be as a result reporting to the BBB about this incident and hopefully it will be resolved. This was a problem Marshalls should have dealt with. I had the original gift receipt; why it wasn't matching when I never shop there I have no clue, but instead of telling the customer I can't do anything about it was very ignorant on Marshalls part. Customer service was not at it's best here. You don't send a customer out empty handed. read more
