We went to the store, looking for a bathing suit for a 13 year old and asked a worker who didn't seem THAT busy. We asked her where the children's/ preteens baiting suits were and she aggressively pointed towards the back of the store "CHILD AREA" in a thick Russian accent. We asked again SPECIFICALLY where exactly we could find it and she proceeded to yell at us--"CHILD AREA! CHILD AREA!" She couldn't even walk us over there and show the area or something. We then told her that we looked in the and asked if she could show us. Once again she aggressively pointed to the children's area and said "CHILDS AREA". We told her we couldn't find anything and then she just rolled her eyes and told us if we couldn't find it then it wasn't there and that they didn't have it. Later she gets on her com and asks if we have any bathing suits. Soon after she said they didn't have it and dismissed us. We didn't HEAR anyone answer her com call and she obviously just wanted to get rid of us. We tried looking in the women's area as well for size smalls and the selection was close to horrible. What happened to this place, did management change? I don't shop here too often but my last experience was different than I remembered previously. Items are disorderly and opened! I went to browse through the shampoos and found some opened and leaking a mess. The quality of clothes sold has gone down but the prices still the same and not as much of a bargain. If so, just shop at Ross for lower quality or like others have mentioned TJ Maxx if you still care about brands. Maybe it's because of the holiday season, but it's like a madhouse with long lines and limited stock that's disorganized so it's difficult to get what you need. This is not going to be my first store to visit for bargains now, which is a shame because geographically it's more convenient than TJ Maxx for me. read more

his face is the worst Customer Service I've ever been to a department store. Apparently, I was in there too what not and let me add that I was followed by their under covers shoppers the entire time, and finally was approached by One of their undercover shoppers and was told to leave tonight, use the excuse that I had been to other and they have me on camera a whole list of things I've never taken from the store and these people are full of shit. Guy wouldn't even give me his name when I asked for his name how professional how much customer service do they have ? also, when asked to speak with the store manager at the time I was denied wouldn't even talk to me or tell me what's going on. Apparently they've seen someone that looks like me I guess anyways I will not be returning. I'm sure there's more because that's racial, profiling and discrimination on certain people and follow them and then kick them out for no reason anyways I've had enough sucks. I prefer TJ Maxx over Marshall's but this is a pretty good one. Not quite as many big name brands, but you can get excellent deals here. Big, well stocked store, nice staff, I always stop in when I am in the area, you never know what you will find, great finds in the clearance section last time, worth the look. read more

I know that a review about Marshalls doesn't seem necessary, but I've just to give this one a shout out. Staff is friendly and courteous, they always do their best with returns and never appear put out. New inventory comes in every morning, Monday through Saturday. Didn't find what you were looking for today? It just might be there tomorrow. I recently started planting succulents and drought friendly plants. They have an amazing selection of pots, most from Portugal and Spain. All very colorful and unique and at amazing, unbeatable prices. I'm not sure if I should have shared that fact, as I usually buy at least 3-5 pots every time I go, so leave some for me! read more

Now they open the fitting room and it's hassle with giving you a piece a paper and you have to bring it back and they tell which room to go to and on and on . Went back to get a price adjustment on some DOG TREATS that were obviously priced wrong because on the receipt they came up as STATIONARY and the manager not only refused, but could not even come up with a viable reason as to why they could not do the price adjustment. Had an unfortunate experience with Marshall's today. Yesterday I purchased approximately 8 items of activewear; each item was $16.99. Today I attempted to return two of them since they did not fit. Took the original bag with the receipt and items to the store. I did not include the price tags since they were in the trash and were all mixed up. Was told by Suzanne the manager that she could not credit my Amex because I did not have the tags. I pointed out that all of the signs in the store reminded you to bring in your receipt-not tags-to get a refund. Suzanne was extremely rude and only relented when I told her I would contest the purchase with Amex. None of my friends or family will be doing further business at this store! read more

I've been visiting this Marshall's since I was a little girl and never really liked the appearance or "ambiance" of it. I always felt like the place was messy, dirty, and dim-lighted. I re-visited last night with my boo 'cause I read online that all Marshall's now have a new "shoe store within a store" called Mega Shoestore or something. Being an obsessive shoe fanatic, I decided to check it out. I was majorly surprised with all the name brand shoes that they now carry! They have definitely upgraded - but with upgrading, also comes more expensive prices. They carry everything from Juicy Couture, Cole Haan, Stuart Weiztman, Jessica Simpson, BCBG, Franco Sarto, Steve Madden, A.B.S., to Versace. It's insane. The prices are definitely cheaper than retail, but still pretty hefty - I'm just surprised 'cause out of all stores, Marshall's??! Weird. I found the cutest, most comfortable Cole Haan slingback flats for $50 and my boyfriend bought a pair of Nike Reruns for $20 (which retail $100). A definite steal, so it was amazing. I recommend this place ONLY for the shoes :) P.S. Minus one star for rude employees and not allowing to put merchandise on hold. Really. What is that? read more

I found there a lot of damaged items, that they try to sell. It makes me upset, because they hope to cheat the customers expectations, by selling such the products. So, be attentive and check what you are going to buy. Also, the employees often forget to give you the tag, so it can be a problem to return damaged items, so pay the double attention! read more

Okay, I'm not a discount shopper at all - even during times when I should be. I'm not only a quality snob, but I'm lazy and I like my merchandise choices laid out for me in an organized manner, so these discount places (Ross, TJ Maxx, etc) make my head spin and require too much sifting through crap to find a gem. Also, these places are chaotic and uncivilized at best. HOWEVER! A friend and I were in Pasadena and she dragged me into this place swearing it was the best Marshall's (I don't want to know what the worst marshall's is like). I gotta say, I found quality sunglasses, cute sandals, an adorable orange teaspoon/measuring cup set and velvet hangars, all for an amazing price! They had so many cute kitchen things and little wallets and what-nots. My friend found a really great, quality handbag for a steeply discounted price. I was impressed! I was slightly annoyed by the immense families that were making a day of shopping at this place and their unruly children running around as though it's a park, which adds to the chaos that generally turns me off to discount places. But otherwise I had a great experience here, found cute stuff for cheap and got in and out without incident. I generally don't review stores, but I was surprised how fun it was to shop here that I felt the need to give it props and I may go back. I don't know about you, but I am on a budget and I love to shop. These two combinations are terrible, terrible, terrible. I think I have found a solution, Marshall's. Have you ever been? Well, first of all, if you are into the Nieman Marcus/Saks Fifth Avenue type of experiences, stay there, spend your money. Marshall's may not be for you. However, if you are willing to try something new because you like to shop, like to find good deals, and don't want to broke at the end of your shopping experience swing by Marshall's. A trip to Marshall's takes patience. You cannot go into the store expecting that you will leave with exactly what you want. Sometimes you will come out empty handed. Other times you will come out with bags full without braking your bank. They have more than you think. Women's/Men's clothing, shoes, lingerie, furniture, towles and linens, lamps, kitchenware, etc. Here are some approaches you can take when going to Marshall's because sometimes it can be overwhelming. 1) If you don't really know what you want or what you are looking for but you want to shop, choose to focus on just one/two sections of the store. Peruse it, see if you like anything, do or don't make a purchase, and leave. 2) If you know exactly what you are looking for, go in, get it, and then celebrate the fact that you got whatever you were looking for at a good price :) 3) Play the no more than $15 game. Go in, don't put anything over $15 into your cart. See how many items you can get that you actually like, purcahse them, and think about all the different items you got at whatever your total bill comes to and think about how that one bill could purchase you just one article of clothing (if that) at Nieman. 4) Sometimes I just go because I need to send some shopping endorphins into my brain. I get that little shoppers high from looking around, and I can leave without having to purcahse anything. These trips may just be the best trips. Good luck shopping! read more

Shopping at places at marshalls is literally like treasure hunting. You need time and patience. There are only so many ways random random clothing from hundreds of different brands can be organized, and when you find something you like, it might take you another 15 minutes to find it in your size (if you find it at all), but in the end, when you go home with the perfect piece of clothing at a bargain price, it is all worth it. Aside from clothes and shoes, I also like coming here for their cook/bake ware and home/bath decor items. You can even get fancy olive oils and vinegars in the foods section. They also have a teeny beauty section by the exits now that carry brands like Elizabeth Arzen and Clinique every once in a while. I've noticed Marshall's getting more high-end, but that also means you may actually be spending quite a lot of money in the end still (e.g. $200 for boots, but they're GUCCI boots....) Overall, a fun place to shop if you're in the right mood for bargain hunting. read more

I've never been here before, I'm actually more of an "amazon" shopper, but I got dragged into this place last Sunday, my gf went shopping and I was too nervous to watch the Raiders game on TV, so i decided to join her. I like the place, they have a great selection of all kind of stuff for very reasonable price, they even beat my amazon special deals ;) We got some ceramic that we use as pots for succulents, $5 to $8 a piece and they look really great, I'll put up a picture when I get to it. Parking is easy, staff is friendly, all checkouts open on a Sunday afternoon, makes me think about going more often to places like this instead of shopping online :) read more

If you're on a budget but you desperately need something new to wear this would be one of the places you can go to. you can find good deals on jeans, dresses, shoes and some perfumes. this specific location get more new stuff but because everybody comes here so they go quick too. and this isn't really the cleanest marshall's i've been to. the monrovia location is much better. because we're still in a somewhat sort of recession, the line is always long and the store is always crowded. so you need lots of patience to be shopping here. read more

THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU PURCHASE ANYTHING!!! Bought a blouse and tried to return it w tag but no receipt. They would not take it back because the tag did not match the blouse I boug!!! Not only that, but the price tag was more expensive than the blouse itself (as stated by the manager)!!!!!! She said even if I had the receipt she would not accept the blouse since the tag doesn't match the blouse. I did my research and I am not only one w this type of incident. Update! I've noticed in my shopping travels that places like Ross and Marshall's differ in each location. I particularly like this Marshall's because of the selection and brands that they have available (I'm a BCBG whore). I've always found great jeans, shoes, and handbags here. I also do my Father's Day/dad's bday shopping here as they have cool shaving kits and nice ties (Kenny Cole). One thing about these types of places is that you must be able to devote a few hours of shopping to enjoy the full experience. You have to sift through racks, sort of like going to a thrift store, and try on a lot of things before you find your ideal _________. They also have pretty cool houseware stuff. Take a look, but go in the early afternoon if you can. read more

Horrible customer service!!!! Kylin went to snitch on my 2 kids that were playing with some toys which I was considering buying for them, he right away assumed my kids had made a mess of toys on the floor of the toys section, when in reality that section was a mess to begin with when we got there. He ran to snitch to some older older white lady which I will return to get her name. She comes and approaches my boys and tells them with a harsh tone YOU CANT PLAY WITH THE TOYS. I automatically confront her and ask her if there is a policy in which kids r not allowed to touch or play with the toys??? I asked if there was sign to indicate this and of cause she just said no, she was RUDE and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I understand there can be policies but to approach my kids which are age 2 and 7 instead of me an adult is simply unacceptable! She kept focusing on my kids and never paid attention to the surrounding kids that were around playing as well. Made me feel as she was being racist. VERY VERY VERY INCONVENIENT!!!! Out of all the retail businesses that I have shopped in, I would like to appreciate this particular location for their practices of social distancing for their employers. Many businesses don't enforce it in order not to get customers upset but it is not fair for those who are working in retail. Let me start by saying that I am a huge fan of Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and Home Goods. One of my favorite things is that they are pet friendly. It's always great to be able to go into a store that is welcoming to our fur babies. That was the case with this Marshall's until today. I was stopped at the door with my dog and asked if she was a service animal. I said no, and was told that the store only allowed service animals. When I said I always brought my dog prior to this and had never been told this, she said that unfortunately they had some incidents and now had to enforce this policy. Why wouldn't you deal with problems on an individual basis? If you had a disruptive shopper, you wouldn't ban all shoppers. You would ask them to leave. The same could be done with pets. Unfortunately,I will be shopping at another Marshalls that allows my pet. read more

Was at Marshall's yesterday afternoon looking for clothes, and after 1 hour picking, I done my shopping and was at cash desk. During my items processing, suddenly there was a blackout. So all customers have to leave the store. The cashier asked me to leave my name there. I left the store and waited for 30 mins, but no sign of opening soon. So I went to do something else. Called them after 2 hours, and they said the electricity was back. I backed to store, and workers had hold my items at the cash desk, they saved my time, and I was very satisfied. Really disappointed with this store. Unable to get a refund without receipt. I have card that I purchased item with and bank statement and they will not take it. The majority of discount stores if you have the card and it's less than thirty days they will refund it back to the card. All the manager can say is that it was store policy. This store is so backwards!!!! read more
