IMHO Look! It's Dec. 20th and they are already merchandising for Valentine's Day!

This Marshall's always has a great selection. When you walk in there is always an associate there to greet you. I have been going to this Marshall's at least once a week since COVID and every time I go, even if I visit two days in a row, there is always a different selection of items. Their kitchen and dog section is always filled with a variety of options. They also have a decent selection of storage bins. They keep their store consistently clean and, for the most part, organized. This makes finding products easier as you don't have to sift through the clutter. They also have a pretty big section on clearance items in every section. Marshall's associates are well mannered and provide excellent service. They are always willing to help you find something off the shelves or in the back for you.

Marshalls has so many kitchen supplies for cheap. I usually check Marshalls before buying things elsewhere. The pots and pans are pretty high quality and you can get a great discount.

They mainly sell vintage and modern secondhand clothes, bags, and shoes for women and men, but they also have new pottery from a designer called Familiar. The store is spacious and carefully curated. There is no thrift shop smell and it looks more like a cute boutique than a secondhand store. You can sell your clothes there, too. There are two floors of women's clothes and a separate men's shop across a little courtyard in the back. Most of the customers when I was there were young adults of both sexes. The store was busy on a Saturday in the late afternoon. Fortunately, they have a dedicated parking lot behind the shop with plenty of spaces. The staff welcomed me immediately when I walked in. I was interested in looking at purses and they had quite a few vintage and newer ones from designers like Coach, Tory Burch, Kate Spade, and Dooney & Bourke. I didn't buy any, but enjoyed checking out what they had to offer. I didn't pay too much attention to the clothes, except to notice that women's pant sizes on the second floor only seemed to go up to size 11/12. If they had bigger sizes, I didn't see them. Overall, I was impressed with Black and Brown and would like to go back.

I was referred by another thrift store, so I decided to stop by (walk in/no appointments) to sell a few items. No long lines or crowds after 1pm Thursday. I never thought about coming here, but it looks legit and there's more upstairs to browse around. It was more spacious than expected in this old landmark building/house corner. Not bad at all. Staff is welcoming and worked pretty fast going through people's drop off bags of clothes, etc. They sell new items too (clothing/scarf dyes, little gifts, sunglasses, shoes, jewelry, and more). Items on racks are good looking and colorful in some spots. There were plenty of Baggu handbags for sale too. Good variety of colors and styles. They have good looking boots for sure. Prices on racks are on the higher end side/more expensive for thrift store items. Very clean though, like new for most items. It didn't take long before they were finished going through my bags. It's a bit more high end here, so if you have good brands vintage fashion items, this can be a good convenient spot for you.

There are a few dedicated parking spaces for unloading close to the donation truck/table but occasionally I just park in the customer lot and walk my stuff over. I ask for a receipt for tax purposes. Inside the store, the retail floor space is huge filled with rows of neatly organized clothing racks, furniture, glassware, household items, shoes, etc. This makes for easy perusal of items and an enjoyable shopping experience.

Donations When I did my last drop-off about a week ago, the gentleman running the donation area rushed over to help me with my bags and then gave me a receipt that was already filled out with the date/signature. The entire process took about 30 seconds - easiest donation drop-off ever. Shopping I've found so much great stuff here in almost every department (clothes, furniture, home decor, etc.). It's also more reasonably priced than other thrift stores in the area, and more organized as well. Customer Service The donation drop-off guys are really friendly and efficient - they go out of their way to make it an easy process. The store employees are equally amazing. Every time I go up to the register with a big pile of stuff, I'm apologetic and flustered about how much ringing up they have to do - but they're ALWAYS super nice and helpful. They literally never have a bad attitude or get annoyed, even when I take a bit of time to pack up my items or change my mind last-minute. I also appreciate the fact that they go out of their way to help me organize my stuff so I can get to my car easily - I'm a small person with some big purchases haha, so I really appreciate that extra effort they put in to make my life easier. Truly 10/10 customer service all-around!

The store seemed to be nicely organized but could use a good sweeping. I saw a hanging item that reached the floor covered in dust bunnies at the bottom. I was surprised by the number of designer bags they have in the locked glass case. The designers include Gucci, Chanel, Loewe, Coach, Fendi, and many more. While most were pricey, they looked like they were in excellent condition and some were reasonably priced. Not sure how thorough their authentication process is and how often fakes slip through. There were lots more lower end bags hanging openly on the walls, but they weren't quite as nice. I'll most likely stop in once in a while to see what they have to offer.

But doing so, of course, would be inappropriate, disruptive, and disrespectful to both the staff and the purpose of the machine. Attempting it would likely result in immediate ejection from the store, embarrassment on behalf of my wife, and damage to my reputation. If I want to do something like that, it has to come from a place of trust and responsibility. So I've decided on a different approach. I'll apply for a job there. I'll start at the bottom, maybe as a sales associate. I'll show up on time. I'll learn the product lines inside and out. I'll help customers. I'll take extra shifts. I'll support the team. When we have team potlucks I won't just sign up for paper plates and napkins like I usually do. Over time, I'll build trust with my coworkers and supervisors. I'll demonstrate reliability, consistency, and good judgment. When opportunities for promotion arise, I'll take them seriously. I'll accept constructive feedback, complete training, and become someone people rely on. Eventually, I'll earn a leadership position--assistant manager, then store manager. Managers stay late for many reasons: end-of-day reports, scheduling, stockroom organization, vendor calls, or something mundane like doing a full count of shoelaces to reconcile inventory discrepancies. One night, when the store is closed and no one else is there, I'll complete my duties. And then finally I can put my butt in it. But, for now, it's just feet. Ri helped me, with her patience, friendliness, and knowledge earning the store five stars. The scanner said I was a size 12 even though I am a size 13. It undersizes.
