It is indeed the best Martabak I have tried in the US. I stopped comparing all Indo food or snacks with one in Indo, but this is the best one man especially the tofu is very nostalgic and I really really love tofu so much. There's not a lot of places, especially in LA area that have savory Martabak, but this one nails it. I was only doing day trip to Philly so I was able to place a pick up order and they were very nice to have me pick up way after the opening hours because I was running late. Just keep in mind that they made it fresh so it's better to call couple hours in advance for them to make your order. I would say 3 to 4 hours before. They are combined store with other type of food like fried chicken and have a similar name so I can't wait to come back to Philly and try those fried chicken! When I went there to pick up my order, it was raining, but there were people waiting for that chicken orders. The auntie is also very nice. Their sign and color is very catchy so it's hard to miss. Both of us are big fans of martabak, so we decided to stop by and give this place a try. The shop is quite small and is mainly geared toward takeout, as there is no indoor seating available. We ordered the cheese and Nutella martabak, and it was absolutely delicious. The martabak was fresh, flavorful, and definitely satisfied our craving. The only downside was the service, which was not as friendly as we had hoped. I ordered the Martabak Telur Mini with Mozzarella and Sweet Corn and it was a delight to eat. The Mini size of 6 pieces was perfect for one person (I would even say this is good size portion that would comprise an entire meal). There is a full-size version of this with 12 pieces that I believe should be shared as it would be a lot for just a single person. Now, I had no idea what Maratabak was until I tried this. I did a little research on it and discovered it was Indonesian street food. It's basically pancake bread filled with beef and your choice of toppings. The beef filling is pretty much like a beef sausage texture. It is very tasty and enhanced by the two sauces that are provided with it. The first sauce is a sweet and slightly salty savory sauce that tastes basically like fish sauce to me. The second is a sweet and spicy sauce that is really good. It starts off sweet on the tongue but then unravels to an almost magical spiciness that hits nicely. Not overly spicy, but just enough to warn you that the spiciness is there. My first bite of my first piece was crispy on the outside with chewiness on the inside. I was okay with the first bite, but as I continued eating it it grew on me. It was very flavorful and quite filling. My second piece was slightly crispy and more pillowy soft inside... YESSS!!! I now see why people love this. The pancake mixture was more evident in the second piece and the sauces complimented the entire experience perfectly. I was pleasantly full on the third piece, no lie. The Mini dish can definitely be a single entree by itself or a shared experience if you decide to also get and share a Mini dessert. I think a lot of people must go there for the desserts because I've heard many good things about their desserts. It's basically the same pancake mixture with nutella or sweet cream fillings instead of beef inside. Folks, it took me 57.5 years to finally try this because I had no idea it existed. I wish I had tried this in my 20s. Don't be a dumbo like me and go out and try this delicious food! This place is so unique. Definitely have to come try it out for yourself. The dessert exceeded my expectations. We ordered the mini Martabak (comes in two pieces) with pandan and cheese corn flavor. They were two very large pieces and highly recommend bringing a friend to share. I would love to come back and try the different items and flavors. It took me forever to check out Martabak Ok and I'm so sad that it did! I really have been missing out on the perfect takeout dinner or even light snack option. Martabak specializes in Indonesian sweet and savory pancakes. When my fiance and I were there, we had to try a full size of both naturally - we got the spicy sambel bawang savory pancake (which is definitely spicy just as a heads up) and the pandan sweet pancake (cheese and sweet corn). Both were incredibly delicious - the savory pancake texture was crispy and flaky and the meat inside was well seasoned, and the pandan pancake was super soft and fluffy. The cheese added a light bit of salt to the sweet and creamy flavor of the pandan pancake, and everything harmonized so well. The two pancakes were really different but both were excellent. We were given it all in a togo box that came with a branded reusable bag. Getting the full size fed us for two meals honestly. Just as a tip though also the pancakes can get a tiny bit messy so just be careful taking it home! We really want to get some of the minis next time so we can sample more flavors at once and will absolutely be back for more. Was craving martabak today, but a quick Google search showed that they were closed. I decided to give them a call anyway. To my surprise they are open, for takeout orders at least. Their current hours are 12-6pm Sunday to Saturday. I placed an order for a pandan martabak with peanuts and was told it was going to take 30 mins to make which is a bit longer than usual. Make sure you order 30 mins ahead of time if you are hungry!! There was barely any hint of pandan but the martabak was still delicious. I ate two pieces, one after another and quickly got full, but still wanted to keep eating. I don't regret eating the extra pieces even though it did make me a little sleepy after lunch. read more

Holy delicious. I have never even heard of martabak before, so my first visit was a bit frustrating because I couldn't understand what exactly this place was offering. I know that there were sweet and savory versions of something. There were pictures of some of the options on the menu but everything is made to order so there was nothing to physically see. The cashier seems perplexed that I was so oblivious to what they were serving. After his attempt to explain what martabaks were, I realized that most of the items they serve only come in 12-piece (or slice?) orders. They offered two-piece orders of only four kinds of the sweet martabak manis series. They have offered no 2-piece of the savory pieces. I only wanted to try it this time so I order the two-piece sweet corn with mozzarella cheese. O.M.G. What a delicious, mind-blowing bite of food. The texture of the "pancake" is outrageous. The flavor of the sweet corn was perfect. Not too sweet, and just the right level of creaminess. How have I not had these before?! Five visits later, I am much more familiar with the menu, and a few pounds heavier. Everything is outrageously delicious. The Taro savory beef and cheese is like a dozen cheesesteak and egg sliders. However busy this place is (not sure), it should be busier. Totally underrated. Stop here and experience some seriously delicious street treats. It is a thick pancake with a variety of fillings, it can be sweet or savory. The most popular ones are with chocolate and peanut filling. It is fluffy with a chewy texture, buttery in taste, and drenched in condensed milk. Listen, if there was no such thing as gaining weight, I would eat this entire box myself. Someone slap me a few times, O...M...G...where you been all my life Martabak?? I almost ate my fingers. We got the peanut, nutella, and cheese in the original pancake. Surprisingly it is not that sweet. I grew up eating peanut butter and condensed milk on toast (popular in Hong Kong) so these two combos on the Martabak reminds me of that. The cheese in my opinion got lost. Quite an extensive menu with different fillings and 4 flavor pancakes to choose from. I read that it takes a special super heavy bottom cast-iron pan to make these thick pancakes. The distribution of the heat has to be evenly distributed or else the bottom of these thick pancakes will burn. Open since 2018, I don't know how I didn't know about this place. It is in a residential area so parking is not easy. I would suggest takeout vs eating in as it is a tiny shop. These are made fresh to order (about 20-30 minute wait) so call ahead. It doesn't taste as good reheated because you lose the crunch but it's still pretty good. If you want to feel healthy you can get it with corn. Was about $18. A cake thing that's kind of spongy and kind of cornbready and stuffed with cheese but it's dessert. And it's sitting in a pool of condensed milk. You can choose from plain, coffee, red velvet, taro, pandan, green tea (last two are great for Eagles Parties or St Patty's). Also comes with corn if you want it to which I feel weird about. You can also add peanuts, toblerone, Nutella, etc. That's it I decided I'm bringing this to breakfast at work Friday. Pandan with cheese was $15. A pizza thing that I haven't tried yet but definitely will. You can choose from multiple toppings like green tea kit Kat, oreo, and of course cheese! I forgot they have a 4th thing! We ordered the original sweet and also the savory beef Martabak. Everything is cooked to order and they even ship to you if you call it in. Amazing!! Perfect texture, gooey insides and the sprinkled on cheese give the sweetness an extra savory dynamic. Tasted great. The beef martabak tasted very good too, just make sure to heat these guys up before eating. Doesn't taste good cold. Not the healthiest food as it has alot of butter. Recently have a lovely conversation with our Indonesian server during our trip to NYC and was reminded of Martabak Ok. I've had this on the visit list for a while now but completely forgot about it until it came up in convo. Made a promise with him that we'll go the day after. Oh boy am I glad we did. We order a mini sweet one and a mini savory one. How to even describe the joy of these delectable goodies? First, we got the cheese and nutella one as our sweet options. The saltiness of the cheese mellows out the decadent chocolatey nutella while all being soaked into this fluffy spongey pancake. Just thinking about it makes me want another. We got the mozzarella as our savory one but don't let the name fool you. It much more that just mozz. It's a savory eggy pancake with bits of meats and flaky pastry accompanied by a sticky spicy sweet soy sauce. Delish! You can't go wrong with either honestly. They are quite different from each other so I would recommend trying both the savory and sweet one. Also they don't do dine-in, take-out only. The wait is usually about ~20mins so order ahead. My friend Lisa lives in a Graduate Hospital and urged that we try this place. Full disclaimer, I've never really had an experience with Indonesian food, so I really don't have anything to base my review on other than first impressions. The space was very cute, with fun cartoons painted on the walls with pancakes saying hello to Philadelphia's who make their way inside. We got the Martabok original with chicken and cheddar and it took some time for them to prepare, which is why I'm sure they urge for you to call ahead to alleviate wait time. The original was good, but I felt very heavy afterwards and could only have a piece or two. Anymore would've had me feeling like a statue filled with butter. I'm not saying it wasn't good, but very very heavy. Next time I think we'll try the desert options, because they seemed more up our alley. Overall the staff was very friendly and helpful, so I won't prorate the star rating on the fact that I wasn't a fan of what I got (that's my fault not theirs) just based on my preference. My Indonesian friend took me here when she was visiting one weekend. This was my first time trying martabak, so I didn't really know what to expect. It's a very sweet dessert, and I definitely would recommend splitting it with a friend since a full portion comes with 9 pieces. The cake was spongey and covered in something sweet (honey?) the interior had nuts and the Nutella. Wasn't the biggest fan of the cheese, but it was a pretty mild flavor. Admittedly, I don't have much to compare this experience against, but would definitely bring a friend here if they're looking for Indonesian dessert or something sweet! The top is a green tea flavored sponge consistency and the bottom half is a green tea KitKat, with shredded mozzarella sandwiched in between . The original flavor is essentially Nutella and mozzarella. This one was a little too sweet for my liking, and honestly nothing too memorable. I would not order it again because it doesn't offer anything unique or worthwhile in flavor compared to the other options. We also ordered the Mango Cheese Tea. This was definitely an interesting drink. We drank it with a straw because there were mango toppings on the bottom. The drink was multiple layers of varying flavors and consistencies -- chunks of toppings on the bottom, sweet milk tea in the middle, and salty cheese foam on top. Overall, a super well decorated spot with decent seating. The menu offers a variety of options fOr when you're craving something unique with a combination of savory and sweet in the area! Martabak Ok is my place when I'm craving something sweet and substantial. Most often I get the mini martabak with cheese and chocolate. I really enjoy the spongey texture and mix of the slightly salty cheese and sweet chocolate. This is a very sweet and heavy dessert but sometimes you need that type of thing! Omg, I'll be honest, I did not know what to expect when my friend introduced me to this place. We ordered a green tea pancake with cheese, peanut and Nutella and it was SO GOOD. Lots of flavor, and all the ingredients complimented each other. We also tried the Oreo special one and that is probably one of my favorites. They also got a variety of drinks. I tried their black sugar boba and avocado coffee and both were tasty. The avocado coffee has an acquired taste. You will really have to love guac/avocado to love this. I love avocado/guac, but if you sip this down too fast, it'll get old but if you give yourself a break between each sip, it's soooo flavorful and unique!! I saw pictures and videos of Martabak on instagram and really wanted to try it! This is the only place that I have ever seen that has this in philadelphia so far. Martabak is kinda like a chewy thick pancake with sweet or savory toppings. Aesthetically it looks so yummy but after trying it I don't know if I would come back. Had heard about this place and was really interested to try them out, and I'm so glad I did. There's definitely nothing else like them in Philly, and everything that I had was truly delicious. They make these really unique Indonesian style pancakes, and the savory ones are deep-fried and often topped with cheese, where is the sweet ones are filled with things like Oreos, sweet cheese, kit kats etc. They're pretty filling, they reheat really well, and they're damn tasty. We could not be more disappointed with our Martabak experience. We've been waiting to go for a while and finally made the trip tonight. First we get there and are informed they don't have chicken. Ok, no problem. We'll take a plain one with corn instead as I don't eat beef. We're then told it'll be 20 minutes so we go for a walk since it's an uncharacteristically beautiful August night in Philly. We get back, order is ready- great! Head home and open it up only to find that the vegetarian dish we ordered is actually full of beef and in the 10 minute walk home it was already cold. 2 stars for service and overall experience. My husband says the beef dish is 4 stars worthy but I doubt we'll be back. EDIT to ONE STAR- after my husband reheated leftovers for lunch today he found an enormous, black hair baked into the food. That's now two meals ruined. Never again. read more

This place is delicious, not healthy, but definitely delicious. I believe the main specialization of this place would be desserts, but me and two other friends came dinner. It seems the majority of the people order takeout from here and while there are four small tables for two to three people each, we were the only ones to dine in. When you walk in you were greeted with a very well-lit and clean space. Random murals on the wall are not too bad. The menu is mostly listing desserts first, and then the Savory stuff towards the end. Prices range from 15 to $22, so it's not really a dine loan deal. For dinner, the three of us ordered the Savory one with chicken in, and mozzarella with corn on top. The Crepe is deep fried and stuffed with egg and I think ground chicken. They graciously slather on layer upon layer of shredded mozzarella with corn on top and then torch it to melt beautifully. I am basing the last assumption on video from their monitor behind the counter. We also ordered three of their Indonesian milk to Jasmine tea which are imported and come boxed. We were also given samples of the Indonesian style salted milk tea that you recently can find at boba tea shops, except they said their version is with cream cheese. I think most are not a hundred percent sure. it was a bit of a wait because there seem to be a large order from a family ahead of us so it was a good 20 minutes before we got food. I think the owner also give us a small container of a soy sauce that was slightly sweet containing Peppers that was essential for this but he said it normally doesn't come with it? Anyway, it was super good in the mozzarella was delicious I would definitely order again in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the fact that there are probably thousand calories all that cheese read more
