It's a small store but full of good stuff. Reasonable price. Very nice and friendly staff. A lot of treasure (good stuff) that couldn't be found in other places. Only accept cash or venmo for the payment.

Be careful with this seller! I have been a subscriber and buying goods online for 3 years & this time there was a case of damaged goods (see photo) there was a handwritten "Damage" from UPS, when I opened all the food packages they were exposed to broken syrup & also frozen food was damaged. I tried to call to let him know, but twice the phone call just hung up. He or she (the owner) only answered text very rudely, no apology & refused to pay a full refund even though I sent it back. This is a really bad seller. I have never met a worse one in the US.

Affordable and delicious prepared foods for take-out.

I'm lucky enough to live in easy walking distance of this place, and it's one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. Everything I've tried has been delicious, and the only down-side is that it's hard to motivate myself to cook when I know that amazing food like this is close by! Picture is of my lunch today (from their prepared foods section), which was mind-numbingly good and very reasonably priced, especially considering the quality.

When you're Indonesian and live in USA, then you get so homesick with indonesian snacks and fresh "gorengan" aka fried street food, come to this tiny corner spot. The place might be small, but what they sell inside is HUGE for Indonesian living in USA. I drove for 5 hrs to get here, just so i can taste their fresh "tempe goreng tepung", "lopis ketan", "kue cucur", "lapis legit", and so on.. the list can keep on going.. I just wish they accept card payment, because they only accept cash. I usually spend almost or more than $100 here, i mean, after 5hrs driving, i better stock up! and bringing cash for more than $100 is a bit hassle for me. The staffs are always friendly and helpful. They speak bahasa (of course!), and instantly made me feel like i was shopping at the store near my mom's house back in indonesia. I will always stop by to this store whenever i visit south philly.

It is a small Indonesian foods mini market. This is my first time to go to Philadelphia. I was amazed with this shop. It provided dry foods (kerupuk/chips, noodles, and other Indonesia ingredients for cooking) and fast food (fritters). I went there 2 times in 2 days in a row. Bought the amazing tahu isi (fried tofu with some veggies for filling), bakwan (veggies fritters), kroket, nasi kuning (yellow rice), and bihun (fried noodles). All of our stuffs gave me an Indonesia original tastes! 'Twas so good! But my fave is Bakwan

An amazing collection of Indonesian food, grocery and pharmacy goods!

Amazing collection of Indonesian market products at an affordable price, staffed with the friendliest people! Came here as out of town visitors after getting very strong word-of-mouth suggestions to come. Apparently this is THE place to go for all-things Indonesian products. And they're right! Everything from snacks, frozen goods, seasonings, to medicine and pharmacy goods. You'll find it here. Apart from the imported goods, they also sell ready-to-eat items from vendors around the Philly area. Everything from rice platters, nasi bungkus (rice platter wrapped in banana leaf and brown paper), to sweet treats and a variety of breads. Get it all in one go. I was impressed at how friendly and helpful the staff were when we came. They saw me piling my hands with bags and bags of goods, and they came and offered me a basket right away. They helped unload my basket once I get to the register too! Let's just say I left a very happy and satisfied customer who just went on a memory lane adrenaline for about 20 minutes. I think my husband thought I was crazy with how excited I am to see products on shelf that I haven't in years! FYI the store is CASH ONLY. So be prepared.

Wow! This place is great! We love it! Large selection of Indonesian groceries. You can also find a lot of Indonesian snacks & prepared food. Indonesian snacks are so seriously yummy! If you haven't tried, it's definitely worth trying. From the outside, it looks like any corner bodega but once you're inside, you feel like you're in a different country, hearing the TV playing local Indonesian program, you can almost forget that you're in Philly. The guy behind the counter were friendly. Great place to buy all your Indonesian goodies.

Whole big lines with indonesian yummy snacks :)

It is buffet style, so all of the dishes are laid out on a food line and you order at the counter. I highly recommend the Nasi Padang ($14) as it was SO much food and everything was very delicious. The kale was cooked in coconut milk which was aromatic, creamy, and slightly spicy, but still retains that slightly bitter edge. The egg is coated in sambal which is definitely spicy but pairs so well with the rice. The beef was tender and fall apart and the sauce was thick and so flavorful. The chicken was also fall apart soft. The highlight of the dish was getting to eat each component with the coconut rice. The coconut rice is some of the best I've ever had!! It's hard to explain what it tastes like but it's the perfect blend of coconut, salty, sweet, and very savory. I would say it's much more traditional tasting compared to Sky Cafe (another popular Indonesian spot). They take cash/venmo/zelle (I think)! It is incredibly worth it for the price. Definitely want to support a smaller, local business!

I especially enjoyed the artwork throughout the space. Service - We had the chance to chat with one of the owners and learned they have only been open for a couple of years. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, and I truly hope they continue to see the success they deserve. What We Ordered - -Chicken satay (Very good, with a peanut sauce that isn't overly heavy or overpowering like at some places) -Beef rendang (An incredible dish. We've walked past here many times but have never pulled the trigger, and we are so glad we did…read moretonight! They have been here for 2 years and 1 month as of April 2026. They have a pre fix menu mostly (it changes every month), but on Saturdays, they do the giant Liwetan communal eating, which is served on a banana leaf and meant to be eaten with your hands. Let me just start by saying that we are Hardena groupies. I have almost broken my phone screen trying multiple times to get my hands on a #notpizza box during the pandemic. This was the brainchild of Chef Diana at Hardena, and it was truly one of the only bright spots from COVID. Anyway, this is Chef Diana's own restaurant (her family still owns Hardena), and while the flavors and sambal (hot sauce) are very similar to Hardena, she makes Indonesian food truly beautiful with her creativity. The plating is that of a Michelin star / James beard winning restaurant. I mean, just look at this giant dumpling that is shaped so beautifully and then really imaginatively placed inside a red cabbage leaf in a bowl. I'm used to Indonesian food being served from a warming tray in takeout boxes so this really blew my mind. They serve three different sauces (2 sambals and a sweet one). Everything was spectacular, and the dishes keep getting bigger in the 5 course pre fixe (not including dessert, but this was a very nice size). Each dish was explained to us carefully and gently delivered by Chef Diana's wife. There are only about 6 tables so reservations are limited (and you pre pay). They do have a vegan menu, but you have to let them know ahead of time or else they have to scramble (which they graciously did tonight for a walk in). They also gave my mom tea when she asked for it, even though that's not something they normally offer. The interior is super cute and well-decorated, and that pink neon sign really shines nicely through the window. I will have to try to resist temptation every time we pass this (which is often), but I'm already thinking about when we can go back! Don't sleep on Rice & Sambal!

This place might have just won our heart for our favorite Indonesian restaurant in Philadelphia. I love their easy to read and expansive menu. The interior is clean and comfortable. The two of us shared: - stuffed fried tofu 10/10 - scallion egg pancake 11/10 - wow must try! - Nasi tempong with fried fish 10/10 - Nasi Empal fried beef 10/10 Everything is so delicious. Don't be discouraged by the spicy pepper sign next to some of the dishes if you can't handled spice. They serve the chili sambal separately so you can avoid spice if that is the preference. One secret Indonesian sauce I love to use with everything is their "kecap", which is a sweet soy sauce. They have this as condiments on the table and it's delicious with everything especially the two appetizers we ordered. If you haven't had kecap I highly recommend giving the sauce a taste. The fried fish rice platter is soo good! I grew up eating fishes whole so I'm not afraid to pick around for the meat. It's difficult to find places that serve a whole fish and this experience feels nostalgic. I know most people would prefer their fish filleted. My partner also loved his fried beef rice platter. The beef is drenched in aromatic sauce yet a bit crispy. The small beef soup that comes with it is so comforting. You don't want to miss out on this restaurant! There are plenty of street parking surrounding the area as well, making it a convenient stop.

I was WOWED by the shrimp with lady fingers (okra), seamless service (reminiscent of a well-oiled machine), and an unexpectedly large interior. --- I dined as a party of two for lunch on Sunday. When we first entered, we were shocked at just how large the interior of Banana Leaf was as compared to the exterior. It is also decorated very fun inside. We ordered the mama's chicken, shrimp with lady fingers, and homemade roti canai. Just a note that the most updated menu is online instead of the photos here. (Also rice is not included with the entrées, but needs to be ordered separately.) (1) Shrimp with Lady Fingers- I would come back for just this again and again. It was not too salty, and it was very flavorful (just the right amount of fishy), and the okra was cooked just perfectly. I am a little bias as an okra fan, but I LOVED this dish. My only issue is that the shrimp wasn't deveined. (2) Homemade Roti Canai- The roti was very flaky and had an excellent texture. I guess it's no surprise that it's the biggest thing advertised on the menu. The curry was pretty standard that came with it. It was just a little strange to me that the roti canai was completely cold when it came out. (3) Mama's Chicken- The chicken was dry for us, probably as a result of the smaller pieces being fried. Overall, it was pretty OK, but we wouldn't order this again. The service was excellent- food was quick to come out & anytime we finished a dish, needed water, or needed the check, the servers were at the table before we had to say anything. It was mildly spicy which gave a good kick and it had the classic flavors being sour, sweet, savory and nutty at the same time. The noodles were a nice texture with the crunchier bean sprouts, the tender shrimp and chewy tofu.
