Highly highly recommend taking a tour and visiting the Martial Arts History Museum! Check out their website for hours and location. They also have museum items you can purchase to buy as gifts! Kid friendly! There are also anime martial arts characters too! The Martial Arts History Museum moved to Glendale in a much bigger space with more room and more items to see. Check out their website and social media for event postings!

Martial Arts History Museum is a very small museum which showcase the timeline of adventure exploring the countries of Japan, China, Korea, Hawaii and the Philippines. Moreover, they have media film section which feature martial arts in TV and film. It took me a little over 35 mins to explore and read all exhibits. My favorite weapon displayed in the museum was the Hatori Hanzo samurai sword from Kill Bill movie. Admission price is $10 bucks. Staff was informative, cordial and professional. Parking structure is free next to the museum. Overall, I enjoyed my time in this museum and I learned a lot of martial art, anime and it's history.

Such a cool museum to check out historical martial arts weapons, clothing and tools. Love the movie items as well. The proprietor is so helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend for anyone even if they are a martial arts novice. Fun experience for all ages.

I had time on my hand after a business meeting and I found this beautiful little gem of Burbank. I didn't know that this existed! I grew up as a Bruce Lee fan! Karate shoes and all...

Honestly, I don't think you can have more fun for $10 anywhere else in the greater LA area. It's a nice time and there's a lot of neat stuff to look at and the people who run the place are very friendly. I had a blast.

    What is the parking situation?

It is paid parking all around, however, if you park at 222 n. Orange, a 4-story structure behind the museum, the first 90 minutes are free. A great bargain.

Distance wise from home was at first my consideration but you best believe, this place far exceeds my expectations. From the Trial/Introductory Class, best experience! Staff are all amazing. Ms. Tanya and Ms. Marlet at front desk - superb customer service and best cheerleaders! First encounter with Mr. Manuk. Great! Very welcoming! In my heart i knew that i don't need to search and do another trial class elsewhere. Mr. Manuk has this undeniable charm with kids. I genuinely appreciate the time, patience, and energy invested in helping, my son, Datu learn and grow. Both Master Manuk and Mr. David are patient, encouraging, and know how to motivate the kids while still keeping it fun. Bejanian Martial Arts gives opportunity for kids to meet and make new friends while learning valuable skills in an enjoyable setting. This is the kind of place that parents feel good about! No doubt. Day 1 to date, we have seen such big improvement with our son. The continuous building of his confidence, focus, and discipline. This place has a really positive atmosphere, and it feels like a community. Family!!! -- highly recommend to any parents looking for a great martial arts school! My son loves Bejanian Martial Arts! I have never felt more comfortable and empowered in my life: I'm used to coach Ariel, who is amazing, and I dare to venture out to and today had Coach ED IN GLENDALE, when I arrived, I thought maybe I was in an advanced class and Coach Simmy held me accountable to believing in myself that I belonged in that class most importantly that I was capable. I don't know if it's the mission statement. I don't know if it's the core or business objectives of MTK, but the blueprint is clear from their NOHO location to Glendale. My friend and I came in for our free trial class I'm fairly new to Muay Thai and she's has 5 years…read moreof training under her belt. The gym knew both of these things going in. I understand that pad conditioning is a real and valuable part of Muay Thai training, coaches will hold or hit pads to build a fighter's tolerance to impact, sharpen reflexes, and simulate the unpredictability of a real exchange. That's a legitimate, time-tested method, and I went in expecting and respecting that this sport involves contact. What happened here wasn't that. Within the first 30 seconds of class, during the cardio warm-up jog, before any pad work, drills, or instruction had even started, the instructor came up behind my friend and struck her on the back with a pad, completely unprovoked and with no warning, no context, and no setup that this was a conditioning exercise. She turned around and calmly told him not to hit her like that. His response was to grab his things, walk out, get in his car, and drive off. He never came back. He left a room full of students, including a near-complete beginner with no instructor for the rest of class. Sucker-hitting someone from behind during a warm-up jog isn't conditioning, it's just catching someone off guard, and walking out when she objected isn't discipline, it's a tantrum. Another staff member stepped in and taught the rest of class, and she later texted me offering me a complimentary private training session with her to apologize for such a poor experience. I accepted as I wanted to give her a second chance and take advantage of an opportunity to hone my skills. A few weeks later, when I showed up to the session after confirming with her the day before, I found out she had forgotten about it, and was more than a half an hour away. I felt completely disrespected as I'd left work early, driven over, and reserved time for her to make amends for the gym's previous mistake. It was silly of me to give this establishment a second chance as once again my time was disrespected and wasted by unprofessional behavior. What bothers me most is what an experience like this does to someone's first impression of the sport. Muay Thai should be accessible to everyone as it's a discipline built on technique, respect, and gradual trust between student and coach, not intimidation. Experiences like this that can quietly push people away from a sport before they ever get the chance to actually learn it. That's a real loss, because this sport has so much to offer when it's taught well. I have been encouraging other women, and the LA Muay Thai community at large, especially beginners, to not give this place your time or money.

It got to be too many kids and not enough instructors or adequate supervision for their summer program. My kids got to a point where they dreaded going to class, which is when I knew it was time to stop going. We took them to several other Gracie Barra locations but they didn't enjoy the instructors so I thought we were done with Jiu Jitsu until we found Total Jui Jitsu. To our surprise, we found that a lot of the coaches and families also left Gracie Barra in Burbank for the same reasons and so my boys knew a lot of the kids in the class. Great kids and wonderful families. The Total Jui Jitsu coaches aren't yellers, which creates a really chill environment and there is serious focus on good form, respect, and execution. All the things I expect and they over-deliver in each and every class. They won't allow kids to get distracted and ensure they are truly learning the techniques the right way. If they see a child performing the moves incorrectly, they immediately step in to coach and correct so the kids don't injure themselves or others.
