Having moved across the country I had to face the dreaded task of finding a new physician, dentist, hair stylist, etc... it's not fun and there are usually a lot of frogs before the Prince. But I've definitely found my new dentist and couldn't be happier! I had a thorough cleaning and two fillings done at the Broad Ripple location; both experiences were very good. The office is staffed by wonderful people who are all very pleasant, efficient and professional. All areas are very clean, comfortable and nicely appointed, and equipment/technology is modern. When Dr Walls retired and the Drs Martin took over the practice, the transition was not only smooth, but new technology came with them. I am there for a check up every 6 months- more if I need a new crown or chipped s tooth! My Oral hygienist is just like an old friend. We catch up on what's been going on... she remembers everything! My first visit here was for a general checkup and cleaning. All of the staff was very friendly and informative to my questions. A few weeks later I returned for the actual dental work in which I had some anxiety. Dr. Stephanie was very comforting and understanding. While friendly and accommodating, i would NOT recommend Martin dentistry. Here's why: Before coming in for a check-up, my financee had recently come in for one. At the time, she was told she had 8 cavities (even though her x-rays did not clearly reveal any). Because this seemed high, the next time she was home visiting family, my financee popped in to her family dentist. (The same dentist who had been monitoring her teeth for the last 28 years.) Her family dentist said she had ONE cavity! So, according to Martin dentistry, she needed to have 7 additional cavities filled. What might be going on? My visit to Martin Dentistry makes me suspect that they may be attempting to fix was doesn't need to be fixed. This can have problems down the road. Martin Dentistry told me i had four or five cavities (cant remember which). In addition to this, they highly recommended i replace my two front teeth (which are veneer crowns). This is a very expensive procedure so, considering my financee's experience, i figured i should get a second opinion. So, just like her, i went back to MY family dentist. He agreed with Martin Dentistry that veneers only last so along and that perhaps my two were on their last legs. But, he has said that he couldn't 100% diagnose the presence of decay without removing the veneers. (Martin Dentistry was much more confident that i NEEDED this expensive procedure.) Furthermore, he also said that only one of my teeth had a cavity. He went so far as to say that Martin Dentistry may be practicing unethically for recommended so much work that was not warranted (i.e., for which they did not have strong evidence). Bottom line: While it is important for your dentist's office to be friendly, i would be careful not to choose one based solely on this criteria. It seems like Martin Dentistry may be in it for the short-term, not the long-run. read more

I went yesterday for my first appointment there. The place is very clean and fresh. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful and my wait time was only about 10 minutes which included some new patient paperwork. The dental assistant was great and this place has some great dental technology. Then the dentist came in and she was great also. Friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. During checkout the staff provided me with a financial breakdown of my future visit that displayed the cost, what insurance would cover, and my out of pocket. This is great...all medical offices need to do this. read more

I have been coming here for at least 15 years. I love this office! Both Drs. Matt and Stephanie are wonderful as is the staff. The office is clean and bright. They have TVs in each treatment room to help distract you. They do their best to ensure that your pain and discomfort is as minimal as possible. I would not go anywhere else! I recently moved to Indy and I am in the process of finding all new doctors. Everyone at Martin Dentistry was so nice. I arrived 15 min early to fill out paperwork since I was a new patient and they took me back right on time for my appointment so I barely had to wait once my paperwork was complete! I had to get a filling on my front tooth that had fallen off and I almost happy the original filling fell off because the new one that Dr Martin put on feels 10x better than my old one. I also had a cleaning appointment after the filling. There was a tv on in the room that helped take my mind off all the typical tarter scraping. What a great touch. As a patient of Drs. Matt and Stephanie for 15 or so years, I'm sad to say that I can no longer recommend their practice for anyone with children. After arriving for my routine cleaning appointment on May 10th, 2016, I was actually turned away by the receptionist because I am a mom who had no other choice but to bring my kids with me to my cleaning appointment. It was explained to me that having them with me in the exam room was a "liability" and my only option was to have Jameson (4 yrs next week) watch Mia (15 months) in the waiting room. Oddly, this had never been an issue before. Jameson had just been in with his dad the week prior and sat in the chair beside him except for during the x-rays. Jameson was very excited to be able to make his own first appointment for October. He had been sitting on my lap during exams since he was my daughter's age, which I had also planned for her to do during my routine cleaning. As a mom, I begin my day knowing that all I can do is the VERY BEST I can. At the end of the day, I have to believe that whatever I was able to do was good enough and just leave it be. When things don't go as planned or when mom's "best" is barely getting everyone through the day, a mom is left at the mercy of others and we hope we can find grace and understanding. It's disheartening to me to find such a lack of compassion at Martin Dentistry, especially since I know that Stephanie Martin is a mother herself. Patients come in all sorts of packages and sometimes those packages are messy or inconvenient and require kindness. That's just part of patient care and sadly, that seems to be a very important part that is now missing from Martin Dentistry. read more

Had my first experience with Martin dentistry today, and am so pleased! Great atmosphere, super friendly front desk staff, and almost no wait time! In the past with my other dentist office I always had to wait way beyond my appointment time! Maddie, the gal that did my cleaning, was so pleasant! Sweet as can be and did a great job. Once the doc came in and reviewed everything, he answered any questions I had and explained everything thoroughly to me. I had been going to this dentist for a while and was happy with it until recently. They brought in a new dentist who was very rude and would not schedule me with my previous dentist despite several requests. They also stopped taking my insurance at this office and told me I would have to drive to fishers which is miles away from my home for the same service. I will be looking for a new dentist in the area since they are unwilling to take care of existing patients and only interested in getting new people. read more
