I brought in clothes from a photoshoot to get cleaned and to get a personal jumpsuit fitted since I'm so short. When I walked in I was going to go ahead and drop the clothes off to get cleaned first which she saw, but told me to get my hem started first. The lady wouldn't touch the hem because it was already hemmed on a portion of the clothes. I asked her to at least do the legs since that portion was untouched, she refused and kept telling me how the clothing is supposed to fit even though I'm the one wearing it and I had to keep reiterating I am short so it SHOULD NOT fit that way. I ended up telling her I would do it myself. When I proceeded to drop off the cleaning, now the lady conveniently can't clean the clothing which I assumed was due to the quality even though she saw the clothes prior to me dealing with the seamstress. This was the short version but I'd rather drive 40 minutes into Sacramento with traffic than deal with them again. Just lost a lot of business. Their loss someone else's gain.

Originally, about 7 inches needed to be removed, but I specifically asked for only 6 inches to be taken off because the garment was meant to have a baggy style, and they agreed. When I returned to pick it up, I was told they couldn't taper it after all--but they had already hemmed it anyway, without consulting me. On top of that, they didn't follow my request to leave an extra inch, so the pants ended up looking cropped and completely off, just as I had feared. I refused to pay because the garment was essentially ruined and unwearable. I even let them keep it since it no longer served me. They should have called me before making changes that deviated from the original plan. Instead of apologizing or acknowledging their mistake, the owner refused to take responsibility. In a city full of apartments and university students, this is an absolute necessity and it does the job in a way that few others do. Washers of many sizes will accommodate a week's worth of clothes, a family's worth of towels, bed linens, and whatever else needs to be washed and dried. Washers seem pricey UNTIL you realize that the dryers are free for all the time needed to get your items dry. No feeding quarters very 25 minutes. The place is SPOTLESS. An attendant is available to answer questions. They have a small selection of products if you showed up from the camp ground with no soap or softener or stain removal. Several very large folding tables are available, even large enough to handle a queen size comforter. Easy parking in the evenings. Feels super safe. The whole vibe is like grownups, ya know? I was one of 8-10 people getting stuff done a week ago or so, and it was comfortable, even at 8 pm. No patron abuse of the facilities cuz it just reeks of being cared for. Okay, enough praise.

What a genuinely kind and hardworking guy--he truly goes above and beyond! During one of my busiest months (hello, holidays!), I dropped off my laundry with very little notice, and JJ made it work seamlessly. He handled everything with great care, washed and dried it quickly, and folded my clothes so neatly and compactly--it looked professional and saved me so much space. I don't have time to sit and wait at a laundromat, and I don't want to. JJ kept me updated the whole time via text, letting me know exactly when my load would be ready for pickup. Joe, the owner, came to pick up my laundry at my house, free of charge, being that I live in Woodland. I don't know if he charges, if you live out of the area. They charge by the pound, which they weigh at their place of business. Before leaving, Joe, gave me an approximate day of when my laundered clothes would be ready. Joe communicated via text with any questions and/or updates he had for me. I was able to do the same. They had my laundry washed and immaculately folded back to me in two days! Joe, came back to my home to deliver my clothes. They arrived in three securely tied up clear plastic bags. My clean clothes smelled amazing! The total charge was $60, which I felt was a reasonable amount for 30lbs. of clothes. This service was well worth it! Now the return window was closed and a smaller size was out of stock. So I decided to see about altering them and found Sarah's business. By the way, it is tucked away in a very cute courtyard on the east side of D St, just south of the hotel on the corner. Sarah and I discussed options and in the end we chose to put in two front tucks to take in the waist. The work was completed quickly and the alteration is invisible.
