I am writing to formally express my serious concern and disappointment regarding the HVAC system…read moreinstalled at my property by Roosters. At the time of purchase and installation, I was verbally assured that I would be receiving a Tier 1 Carrier HVAC system. Based on that representation, I agreed to proceed and paid the full amount requested. I relied entirely on the verbal description provided, as no written documentation specifying brand or model tier was given to me at the time of sale. It has now come to my attention--while reviewing documentation during tax preparation nearly a year later--that the unit installed is a Bryant system, not a Tier 1 Carrier unit as promised. While I understand that Bryant is manufactured by Carrier, it is widely recognized in the industry as a Tier 2 product line. This is not what was represented to me when I made my purchasing decision. Had I been clearly informed that the installed unit would be Bryant rather than a Tier 1 Carrier system, I would have reconsidered the purchase, negotiated the price accordingly, or explored other contractors. I feel misled and taken advantage of, especially given the significant financial investment involved. This situation has caused me to question the transparency and integrity of the sales process. As a customer, I expect clear, accurate, and documented representations when making major home improvement decisions. Instead, I received only a total amount due and a verbal description that did not match the product ultimately installed.

We had a full HVAC upgrade and replaced the condenser, cooling unit, vent plates, and duct work. The team started in the morning around 9am or so and finished at about 6pm - for all of the work they had to do and having to access the cooling unit in a tight space in the attic, they accomplished a lot in a day's work. So far, we're very happy with the results and love the parts and service warranty they provide. Everyone was very kind and professional. Highly recommend.

My AC unit stopped working on Saturday. I'd used Frank Gay before and had their maintenance plan,…read moreso I called them. To Frank Gay's credit, they came out quickly and determined that the capacitor had blown. I was relieved because it was an older unit. However, the service tech insisted that my machine needed to be replaced. He said it was in critical condition and showed me the readout. He said it was over-amping and wouldn't last two months. Fortunately, they had a "special" going on for new units. Sounded like a sales pitch so I took a picture of the readout he showed me and uploaded it to ChatGPT. It said not to trust those numbers because they were way off and it looked like the probes were reversed. ChatGPT encouraged me to call someone else. So I did. Chilly Billy's came out today - two days later. The AC guy was named Nas - very easy to talk to and smart. He ran the same tests and determined that while my unit is pretty old - it's working fine. The numbers were well within manufacturer guidelines. They said they would not recommend replacing the unit. So, I learned I can't trust Frank Gay. I cancelled my maintenance membership and found a new HVAC company in Chilly Billy. I'm uploading the photos. One is Frank Gay. The other is Chilly Billy two days later. Trust is a big deal.

I contacted Lake County Air Conditioning after having another company come out and look at my…read moresystem since my Nest Thermostats stopped working and I could not turn on the A/C. The company that came out wanted to charge me $1600 to replace the zone control board and change the Nest thermostats back to regular thermostats. He stated the Nest thermostats were not designed to work with a zone system. Being highly skeptical, since he only looked at the room where the zone control board was and he did not put a meter to the board, I told them I would think about it. After calling Nest and the manufacturer of my control board it was determined that the Nest thermostats do work with a zone system and the manufacturer of the zone board walked me through some troubleshooting techniques that I could do however, since I did not have a volt meter, I would have to call someone. I contacted Mike at Lake County and explained my problem to him. He immediately knew what my problem could be in that he would have to troubleshoot the system from the control board back. He said it could be something as simple as a clogged line that shut the system down. Mike came out and check the power to the control board and there was no power so it was not the control board. He then traced it back to the transformer which was getting power and then further traced the problem back to the float valve which was tripped because of water in the line. He drained the line and put the float valve back on and checked the zone control board and there was again power to the board as the lights were on the board. Problem Solved!!!!! The cost for the repair: $90.00 plus a small trip charge. What a big difference in price and quality of work. Mike was extremely honest and did not try and sell me on equipment and parts I did not need. He used basic troubleshooting skills to diagnose the problem and resolve the problem. He has earned my business from this day forward. My impression of Mike is that he is very conscious and knowledable about his craft and believes in treating his customers in and honest and fair manner. He will not upsell you just for the sake of making an extra buck or make the job seem bigger than what it is. I am extremely happy and pleased that I was able to connect with Mike at Lake County Air Condition. If you contact him, I'm sure you will be pleased too and become a customer.
