And it can be frustrating looking for a plumber you can trust. I needed a reliable company recently for two occasions. Team Rooter came through with flying colors. Once at my parents' house for a clogged bathtub (clog was found deeper underneath the house) Justin was very thorough. He searched all the plumbing connections including all the sinks in the house and even in the kitchen. He then suited up and crawled into the shallow crawl space under the house. Found the issue, resolved the matter, and all the awhile kept himself and the house clean! Then another trip was at my condo for a busted water heater. Kevin and Edwin went above and beyond. They made quick work of the situation. They even did some drywall work that was damaged from the leak. I happened to have some extra drywall at home, but they did all the work. Great guys to talk to as well. Both times, Team Rooter came at odd times in the day and made my headache go away. If you're looking for transparency, trust, reliable, professionalism, and competitive pricing, Team Rooter checks all the boxes. The three plumbers I had in my two occasions were amazing: Justin, Kevin, and Edwin are well spoken young men, well presented, and clean. We had a serious clog in our 100 year old drain pipes that my snake was definitely not getting…read morethrough. Charlie's Sewer and Drain set up an appointment and sent out their plumbing tech Cesar to have a look. Cesar was on time, friendly, and knowledgable. He popped open the trap and also tried to clear the clog in the drain with his more industrial-strength snake. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful -- the pipes are so old and corroded that we suspect it will take a much bigger repair. He wrapped up and cleaned up, and after we discussed possible next steps, he got us an estimate for further work within the hour. He didn't charge us since we weren't able to get the clog cleared, which I really appreciate. At time of writing, we're doing due diligence to collect other estimates, but my engagement with Cesar and Charlie's S&D was really favorable, and deserved a great review.

I told them I did not want to waste either my time or theirs by going through the same situation again. The person I spoke with over the phone assured me that they handled both the detection and repair. I also specifically asked him to make sure the technician calls me before arriving so I could explain the situation and confirm that the technician was properly equipped. I was assured that the technician would call first. Unfortunately, none of that happened. The technician arrived without calling me and just as I had specifically tried to avoid, was only there to perform the repair. He then had to call someone else to come out and detect the leak. When the other technician arrived 45 minutes later, he began making excuses about not having the necessary parts and equipment to detect the leak and said they would come back later. I was told the parts were probably at their office and that they would return in about an hour. After waiting approximately 45 minutes, I received a call from the office saying they had found the part but wanted to come back the next day. I reminded the office that the technician at the property had told me he would return the same day once the part was located. The office then contacted him again, and the story changed. This time, I was told that he apologized but was unable to find the part and would like to return the following day. At that point, I declined their service. They wasted more than three hours of my time, despite the fact that I had specifically explained my previous experience and asked them to confirm beforehand that they could handle the entire job. The biggest problem was not simply that they were unable to complete the repair. The problem was that I clearly explained the situation in advance, asked very specific questions, and was given assurances that turned out not to be true. A simple phone call from the technician before arriving could have prevented this entire waste of time.
