Cute little Russian cafe, deli, and supermarket situation. Everything looked super delicious - and I would love to come back to try other things. The pastries looked especially enticing. I got a hearty breakfast with 3 eggs, sausage and potatoes. It was filling and perfect for a long day ahead. Soy latte was above average and also helped fuel my day. Wow, talk about a hidden culinary destination! Full scratch made entree dishes, fresh sides, a full pastry case, and beverage menu. All reasonably priced too. Despite being full on khachapuri, chicken sausage rolls, and salami provolone rolls...we could not resist. The Homie had an iced white chocolate strawberry latte. I saw the featured cake slice was honey cake. Oh my the delicate crumb and fresh layers, delicious! I thought this was just a private reception/event area available for rent. What a gem! This little Eastern European cafe is connected to a grocery store and has great breakfast and lunch options. You order at the counter and they give you a number for your table. Service is friendly and relatively quick. They forgot one of our items but were very apologetic and gave us an extra crepe to make up for it! They have coffee/lattes, pierogis, borscht, a bunch of european pastries, and a lunch bar where you can order 2-3 items per plate. I got pierogis, a cake, and a latte. All were *chefs kiss* and hit the spot. Ambiance is modern and clean. And prices were very reasonable!! Will be back to try their lunch! read more

Terrible customer experience. They actively helped and completed orders of all incoming guests and after 30 min wait when I asked about my order they could not understand. They eventually said maybe it will be done in 5 min. Still not completed and did not obtain my order after that 5 min.... I waited another 5 min with no apology or explanation or update. I was on a lunch break too and didn't realize it'd take this long. Especially when after arriving 20 min laterI was the only customer left. I went back after 5 more min and got to speak to someone in English and she found out they forgot about my order and the worker went on lunch and they would make it now. She offered a free drink or dessert but it felt pointless at this point and I could not accept. I decided to leave once I got my dumplings since I felt too uncomfortable and frustrated to stay here. While I waited the last min she brought me an appetizer without prompting. However she brought me one that contained chicken and I'm a pescatarian but I felt too uncomfortable to correct her so I took it to go as well. I had absolutely no idea there was a restaurant in this store! We were looking for a quick bite and stopped in. I had the meatballs and buckwheat and my husband had stuffed peppers. The buckwheat was amazing!!!! I honestly would not have thought to get it but the woman behind the counter gave me a taste and I was hooked. She was so nice and explained all the different dishes since it was our first time. I can't wait to come back and try more. One of the best quick bite meals you'll ever have. Some options are available at the counter while others require a couple minutes but everything tastes homemade and so fresh. For all the flavor and generous portions you are getting, it really is very affordable. They have a menu on the wall serving items such as borscht, and dumplings or you can choose a plate at the counter with one or two entrees and some sides for less than $10. They serve fresh options such as chicken meatballs, stuffed cabbage rolls, ribs, couscous, shrimp pasta, stuffed bell peppers, potatoes, and dessert pastries. The portions are generous but each item has so much flavor that you will easily get full. It's simple but does not lack flavor and it's all very hearty and delicious. We're new to European food like this so we wanted to try a little of everything. Our favorites were the potato dumplings, cabbage rolls, and shrimp pasta but would recommend anything on the menu and would also suggest checking out the pastries next door at the market (anything with sour cherries is amazing). We had a toddler with us and everything was toddler approved. They have water, utensils, hot sauce bottles and napkins out on the side for you to grab yourself. Part of the Marvel Grocery Store in Tacoma. I didn't ever explore in this part of the building until this past weekend and what a delightful discovery it was! Outside of the building where the grocery store is located proceed to where it says "Reception Hall" and that is where the cafe is. Primarily Eastern European style food the selections are wide and the food is as fresh and delicious as the grocery store. There is a hot case at the cafe where you can select from various entrees from the case and a nearby cold case for salads. You can select small, medium or large on the portions. I had some buckwheat and a potato dish which were fantastic! But it doesn't stop there. You can pick desserts from the other side of the hot case. We got some delicious Honey Cake which blew us away. The cafe also has a menu to pick from on the wall, completely different from what is in the hot case. From there you can get things like Avocado Toast and such. A whole lot going on in this cafe but the food is so fresh and delicious and fairly reasonable in price as well. This cafe just makes me love Marvel all the more! read more

The hot food in the cases is good and satisfying, good quantities for the price. The pastries are hit and miss. I tried the walnut bar, really good, buttery, great crunch one of my favorites. Apple tart wasn't very sweet, but pleasant. Baklava was terrible not worth the price, very dry, not as sweet as it should be, very disappointing. The raspberry bar, was simple, would make a good breakfast bar with tea or coffee. read more

Fresh Ukrainian / Slavic food (: great coffee I got a latte with raspberry and white mocha sauce , sweet nalisniki, along with a plate of ribs , yummy golden potatoes , and chicken in gravy hearty meal served with warm faces & smiles ! The store has a wide selection of Eastern European foods , fresh seasonal produce ( easy peel juicy mandarins with stems on ) and plenty of new snacks to try as well as some childhood favorites! They're setup is great, the ambience is nice. However many workers aren't wearing masks and no gloves are being used. I would've given a higher rating but as my partner and I began to eat the creme brûlée he found a small piece of glass in the custard, which was unfortunate because the first bite was really good. The hot food is good and the desserts and pastries are amazing but there are many hygienic and safety measures that need to be taken for this place to blossom. read more

I ordered lunch from Marvel Bay Cafe for the first time today. I did not know of this place and saw it on Uber eats. I got a medium plate which comes with two entrees and a side of creamy potatoes. I chose their fish of the day and cabbage rolls. I also ordered their Borscht and beef/pork dumplings. Everything tasted amazing! The dumplings and Borscht are a must. So much food for only $27. The bread was warm and fresh. I could on about everything it was all delicious. I will be ordering again and stopping by to take a look at what else they offer. read more

Amazing ready-made food! I have come here 3 times now and have been impressed every time! For only $9 you get 3 entrees and a side, enough food for my husband and I to share! It is a clean restaurant with cute decor. The staff is super friendly! Our favorite dish so far is the chicken meatballs! Pretty high on our list are the stuffed bell peppers and the cold dill cauliflower salad. Everything has been delicious though! Next time we come, we'll try the crepes.
