First time there for breakfast (6/27/26) and had the chicken fried steak, hash browns and over easy eggs. I'd give the meal a 7 out of 10. Staff was very nice, but I guess the 28% tip was not enough, because my credit card transaction is more $ than what my receipt shows. I take pictures of all receipts so I can compare to my bank statements. read more

We came here based on reviews and we're a little disappointed. It took a long time to be waited on and food just OK. We shared a Hawaiian omelette with rye toast and a biscuit with gravy. The gravy seemed like it was from a can and everything was just rather bland. The best thing was the rye toast. The potatoes were good but they had no seasoning. Actually we didn't taste seasoning anywhere in our breakfast. If you like good basic fare without any seasoning, this is the place for you. read more

My boyfriend and I came here around 9:20am as we were waiting for an event nearby that started at 10am. As we entered, it was super packed and there was a large party waiting to be seated. Luckily, the waitresses noticed us and told us that a party of two could be seated right away. We were seated at a booth near a window which was cute and intimate. We were offered coffee right away and it's wonderful that the servers here are always wandering around at coffee at the right times to refill as my boyfriend never had an empty or cold cup of coffee. When we were ordering, we were told that they were backed up on orders but we didn't mind since we had time. I got the SOS full order with a side of grits with my boyfriend got the Mary Mary's breakfast bite. The grits were a good size but it wasn't really worth getting. I feel like they should add cheese on top for the price too. The gravy was great with my breakfast plate and my boyfriend enjoyed his breakfast bite. We'll come back once we try some of the other spots around as there are quite a bit a few diners in the Spanaway area to which one is our favorite but so far this is not a bad spot for those who enjoy American breakfast, lunch or dinner. The service here is definitely friendly no matter who comes by. They greet you with such kindness and bid you farewell with the same amount. They are also pretty good about checking in at the right times. The interior here feels very classical retro American diner. The bathroom here was clean and well-maintained. read more

There is a lot to say about this place. We have been going here for almost a year and absolutely love the food. I can not decide what I like the most. I think the Paptty melt is my absolute favorite (and my son with food Aversions loves it too which is awesome). I like it both with their tasty Marbled Rye and also Sour Dough. Their fries and crispy home fries are something to look forward to (although the crispy home fries need some salt). The staff here is friendly and is really good about taking care of their customers. The only thing that is hard is having to wait and when it is busy it can take a while. The place itself reminds me of a very old cafeteria, however. Once you have the food it's something you don't even think about. It is definitely worth the wait and the money for this delicious food! read more

Husband and I were doing some stuff in Spanaway and wanted to find a decent diner. Boy, does this place deliver. Huge menu with lots of old school favorites. I had a patty melt which was absolutely perfect and was served piping hot. Husband had their SOS which is more like a hamburger gravy that you can get a variety of ways. It, too, was excellent. I've been hooked on this place since my brother introduced me to it. He goes in a few times a week. It's that good. The waitresses get to know you and even remember what you usually order! Always super friendly staff. Some of my favorites are their patty melt, mushroom burger, chili burger, and ham & eggs breakfast. Their waffles are awesome too, as well as their pancakes. Some cooks aren't that good at cooking eggs the way you want them but they're still tasty. Sides prices are higher than most places. They close early afternoon, but you can anything on the menu as early as you like. Only thing I've never liked here is their fish & chips, fish is always cooked way too long and is too crunchy. I'm not a fan of folded omelets, so I rarely order them here, but when I do, the taco omelet is my favorite. My brother loves their chicken fried steak! And they will actually deep fry your home fries if you ask! Yep, drove by this place for years before I stopped in! Weekends get packed in the morning and parking can be tricky. While their food is really good, and the prices are pretty much on par with what you get so there is that. However the wait staff is to be desired and only a few really put effort into a good experience. There are a few things I just cannot get past like the lack of cleanliness of the restrooms, the fact that they cannot handle the load they do when it gets really busy, and conversation by the staff can be inappropriate at times. The only other real issue is mistakes that have repeatedly been made on our orders, sometimes we do get overlooked when we are trying to get their attention to fix the error request more drinks, or to simply get napkins. This last visit was horrible and the deciding factor on no longer going there. I used to love the place but the staff really have been the proverbial nail in the coffin. read more

I had asked to meet up some some dear friends for breakfast in their neck of the woods, and they rave about Mary Mary's often... so why not? Let's check out what the hub-bub is all about. First off, love the old school Diner vibe this place offers. A somewhat throwback to diner style eating without it being a large chain. The atmosphere in here was full and energetic. Not an empty table in the house, which already speaks volumes. I would liken this to be full of the local regulars, as it seemed many knew each other and carrying conversations from across the tables. Today was Mother's Day. And the ladies were greeted with a lovely flower. Always awesome when an establishment recognizes the significance of motherhood!! I ordered the Western Omelette, and asked for a biscuit and a small compote of their gravy. I was surprised by the generous portions served up in the plates at our table, and the prices didn't reflect the sign of the times where one would almost need to take out a loan just to eat out these days. Our server was friendly and on top of it, always making sure our cups were filled and our experience was enjoyable. Going back to the food... it was simple and delish! I finally checked this place out after driving by for eight years and seemingly trying every garbage breakfast place in the area, but avoided coming here because the strip mall isn't great. Big mistake! This place is great! The staff is friendly. It's clean. Prices are in line with quality and quantity of food. The standard omelette is FIVE eggs. FIVE. The menu isn't too big, but provides variety and they have SOS! I tried the ham scramble and added cheese. Everything legit tasted like it was cooked at home and by someone who had pride in what they were putting in the window. I really appreciated the crispy outside of the hashbrowns that were still soft and delicious on the inside. The ham tasted like a quality smoked ham, not salty Hormel like many places serve. My server was very friendly and took the time to chat with me and tell me about her cousin who is an independent wrestler after she noticed my WWF hat. You're every day long established diner, with the regular crowd. As diner food goes it's pretty decent. Good serving portions. The service is friendly and attentive and if you go a few weekends in a row they start recognizing you and call you by your name. The cafe atmosphere is as expected. We were in town for a family function the night before and headed here for breakfast on a Sunday morning based on a recommendation by our family. We arrived a little after 9:30 - a group of 8 (including 2 teenagers). We were seated without delay and provided with menus to look over. Drink orders were taken and delivered. Orders were taken - Eggs Benedict was not on the menu but we were assured they had them. 4 of our group of 8 selected Eggs Benedict but with different sides (hash browns, hash browns smothered in gravy, home fries & crispy home fries). Others had Biscuits & Gravy (2) and the other had a Taco Omelette. It took some time to get our complete order - mine - (which was the Eggs Benedict with crispy Home fries) was the last to be delivered (but had been delivered to the table but didn't determine until the last was received because of the different cooked home fries). The food was delivered hot & plentiful. The hollandaise sauce had good flavor just felt it was a little overboard as I wasn't able to taste the egg or English muffin separately. The gravy with the biscuits and gravy was what was expected for that specific dish. The customer service was great - could tell it was a place that had a lot of repeat customers. Although our tickets were mixed up - it was handled thoroughly by the staff - including my mix up with the total and not applying the right total on the bottom because of my tip (should've worn my glasses lol). Overall the charm and welcome extended in this cafe was very refreshing & if you are ever in the area you should definitely stop by. read more
