From the moment I stepped inside, I was struck by the incredibly well-thought-out "lake motif" decor that seamlessly blended classic elegance with modern comfort. Every corner of the place seemed to have been designed with care and attention to detail, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The lakeside mural in the main seating area left me feeling as though I was right where I wanted to be! It was perfect for conversing, reading and gathering over morning coffee and a glass of wine in the evening, The ensuite was nothing short of amazing, offering a level of luxury and space that I hadn't expected, both indoor and outdoor. The king bed was incredibly comfortable, providing a perfect night's sleep after a day of exploring. The room was well-appointed with high-quality furnishings that added to the overall feeling of luxury. But the highlight for me was the large bathroom, which featured both a dual head shower and a large two-person jacuzzi tub. It was the perfect place to unwind and relax in a bubble bath after a long day. And our private outdoor sitting area was quaint and comfortable. The breakfast served each morning was delicious, offering a variety of options to suit every taste. The quality of the food and the attention to detail in its preparation were evident, making each morning a delightful experience. The location of the B&B added to its charm, being just a half block walk to the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain. The proximity to the lake allowed for beautiful sunrise, mid-day, and sunset walks along the shore, providing breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere to enjoy nature's beauty. Additionally, the B&B was conveniently located near a diverse array of restaurants, offering a range of dining options that allowed me to explore different cuisines during my stay. Overall, my stay at this bed and breakfast was truly amazing. The combination of the well-thought-out decor, the spacious and luxurious ensuite, the delicious breakfast, and the perfect location made it an experience that I won't forget. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a high-quality, memorable stay at very reasonable rates. It's a place where every detail is considered, ensuring that guests have an incredible experience from start to finish. Just WOW!!!!

I would not recommend staying at this hotel…read more Upon arrival, the front desk attendant was repeatedly hacking and coughing and appeared visibly ill. It was not the first impression I expected when checking into a hotel. Unfortunately, the room itself was also disappointing. The carpet was dirty, there was an old cough drop and a granola bar underneath the bed, and the air vent blew dust into the room when it turned on. These issues made me question how thoroughly the room had been cleaned before our stay. To make matters worse, there was a wedding taking place at the hotel, and the reception appeared to be directly outside our room. The music was extremely loud and continued until around 9:30 p.m. Traveling with a small child, this made bedtime difficult and significantly impacted our experience. The restaurant experience was equally frustrating. I ordered chicken tenders for my child, but they arrived covered in a spicy buffalo-style sauce, making them inedible for a young child. I charged the meal to my room and only discovered several days later, after requesting an itemized receipt, that a 22% tip charge had been added. I was never informed of this 22% tip charge when ordering. When I called to ask about it, the manager explained that the 22% charge was for room service tip. However, the food was never delivered to my room. I was required to walk to the restaurant and pick it up myself. While I didn't mind retrieving the food, I do mind being charged a substantial tip for a service that wasn't provided. To make matters worse, my hands were full carrying three drinks and a bag of food back to the room, and one of the overfilled drinks spilled along the way. I also spoke directly with the hotel manager regarding the 22% tip charge. I explained that I was never informed ahead of time that this charge would be added and that the food was not actually delivered to my room. Instead, I had to walk to the restaurant and pick it up myself. The manager did not seem concerned that I was being charged what was described as a room service fee without receiving traditional room service. What bothered me most was not just the charge itself, but the lack of transparency and the apparent unwillingness to acknowledge why a guest might find that frustrating. If they had actually delivered the food themself I would have tipped more. The combination of the dirty room, excessive noise, unexpected charges, and poor dining experience made for a very disappointing stay. I would not stay here again and would not recommend either the hotel or the restaurant.

The room was affordable, clocking in at 94 dollars with all fees included on a Friday night. Desk staff was friendly, room was clean, but the furniture was a bit shabby and battered. Secondly, if you like laying in menstrual blood (see photos) and unclogging your own toilet with a motel owned plunger (have you ever been asked to go ahead and grab the plunger yourself from the custodial room?) from, than by all means, calling all masochists, this baby is the place for you. I had to regrettably stay here because of a family gathering. As much as I've been away, I didn't notice Louisiana's new local rules and values. You know things such as price gouging and not giving a flying shit about customer service. Between the menstrual blood (LOOK AT THESE PICS), the extreme laziness of whomever cleans the floors (and installed them as if to just glue the floor on top of the old one), and the inept front desk folks (one smelled like weed[probably sells it], and the night guy probably smokes it while he plays Dungeons and Dragons in the back room), I wholeheartedly believe that there are cleaner places in New Orleans East. To the Mandeville/Covington area folks, if this is the level of quality that will continue to spread to the rest of your Hotels & Motels, not only do you have a big problem, but you are asleep at the wheel. Shame on all of you for allowing a slice of skid row to exist in your town. This level of quality should only exist in Slidell and Chalmette. You are not the Mandeville I grew up knowing. To the hotel itself, since none of you from Super 8 cared to do anything about this, nor returned my wife's calls or mine to address these egregious issues, I am reporting you to OSHA and the Louisiana Department of Health. Or have I already done it?? Don't you worry, I've got more pics These are guarantees. I slept in my clothes and socks.....is this what you want to do when you stay at a 200 dollar a night Motel? Just ask yourself that question folks. Good night, and good luck.

Guess what, one of her regulars called just today to book the room, she says. Now we have no place to stay. She never checked her account with VRBO to book us even though we already paid for the room. She blames us for not calling her directly to book and says it's crazy how much more VRBO charged us than what she would have charged per night. VRBO emailed me repeatedly for my experience of the cressy house and I didn't review because I didn't want to leave a poor review on her account. After the last day for me to leave a review has passed she leaves a negative review on my VRBO feedback. That is such a low petty thing for Laura Cressy to do. She needs to check her reservations in a more timely fashion in the future and don't blame her mistake on others.

I was supposed to stay there at the end of August and Hurricane Ida came, so was unable to go then. I let her know that I would be coming later, but at that time wasn't sure of the exact date. A few weeks later, I knew that I would be there in 2 days and contacted her to rebook. She had already taken the full payment on my credit card in August and told me that she would refund me by sending me a check. After several weeks went by and I had not received the check, I contacted her to tell her that. She said she would put a stop payment on the check and send another one. I just received the check, which was $114 less than what she had collected from me back in August. I spoke with her and she informed me that she subtracted out the fee for the stop payment, as well as for taxes that she had paid. I told her that I felt that she should be responsible for these, as these are the cost of doing business. She told me that I should be held responsible, because when I tried to rebook, I had only given her 2 days notice and denied that she had told me that her place was unavailable due to FEMA. People in this area are usually extremely nice and very accommodating. It is very disappointing to have had this experience.

Linda (the owner) gave us a fair&unbeatable price for the Larger poolside suite despite it being Mardi Gras, Valentine's day, as well as it being the weekend when we arrived. Linda was a DOLL! She took care of us, fluffed our room when we were out & reloaded our fridge with breakfast daily. She showed us around the place and welcomed us like family. I truly felt like I was at mom's house. True southern hospitality. We had a few good talks about the history of her house and her life as she once lived in New Orleans. My fiancé enjoyed talking with Linda as New Orleans is where he was born and raised. Despite our talks, Linda does not hover! Which was so appreciated, when you're on a "romantic"vacation. We had our own privacy during our stay as each suite is separate and inaccessible from where Linda stays in her home. We came and went as we please and used the hot tub at night as late as we wanted. We had our own private entrance, which was incredibly nice. The privacy was appreciated as I didn't know what to expect when we first arrived, but I was prepared to be open minded. I think I will always choose a Bed and Breakfast over a lousy hotel in the future. The rooms were grand and clean. The bathroom was nice and the shower as well. Everything was clean. Its just an old house, but I loved the cottage vibes. It was home-y. The town is walkable and cute! A Mardi Gras parade came right through down the street, during our last day there, which was nice. The poolside porch and hot tub made me feel like I was at a resort. The beauty of the home is breathtaking! Romantic cottage vibes! Perfect for couples or even a small girls trip. I will definitely be back to Linda's next year when we visit again for Mardi Gras. Linda has made me never want to stay at a hotel again.
