I'm a realtor who was fixing up a house to sell. Jovani came out, gave a reasonable estimate after I walked him through the work needed. He told me to buy the plants, mulch and rocks - after some legwork I needed his team to get the mulch, which they did. His team showed up at the site to meet me, without him.... meaning none of them knew what they were supposed to do. I had to spend 45 minutes telling them what we needed done. They brought the wrong colored mulch, saying black was all the company had... when I said he knew we needed brown they went back and got brown from the same company (so obviously they had it all along). He then asked me to go out to make sure the team completed everything properly, which I could not. He also added $200 extra dollars for planting 5 extra plants... despite the team leaving 4 pots unplanted, skipping an entire hedge trim, and telling me upfront he was going to charge me a full day's rate. Jovani was very communicative that night, asking when he would get paid, following up, etc.... To be fair, the work the team did complete was good and his father is a very nice man who managed the team. After he got paid, I texted Jovani the next am from the house to say I needed someone to come out and finish the last hedge. He took all day to respond, said he had a family problem and then I never heard back. I had to have someone else come out to finish the last of his work, despite one more ignored message saying I needed to know if someone was coming. When I followed up again days later for an invoice for the seller's records, no response at all. I do not recommend and will not use him again. read more

Jovani is so unprofessional! He took advantage of my elderly parents charging them over $3,000 to trim trees by our pool (which he did an okay job) but he was also asked to remove the bushes in the front yard. He cut them down & left the stump & roots making it impossible for them to re-plant anything there! When I reached out to him, he said he would come back to complete the job in a few days! He ended up calling me the day before he was suppose to come back saying that my mom only asked for the bushes to be trimmed down. Not true he was asked to completely remove them. I asked him again to please come back and complete the job. He said he would let my mom know! He never got back to her & when we both reached out to him, we realized he blocked us! My husband and I had been looking FOREVER for a consistent, thorough, reasonably priced gardener, who would do more than leaf blowing and the occasional weeding. Jovani and his crew (including an arborist) came out and cut our trees, pruned rose bushes, trimmed every single bush (including stopping to ask us where we wanted things to be trimmed back to, how we wanted things, etc). Half way through the big clean-up day, my husband asked if they could clear an area of our upper yard so that we could put in a hammock. They did this with no extra charge. Jovani and his team come every week, are always hauling things away and actual tend to our yard. We would definitely recommend him. We Had arranged a appointment to have an estimate this morning at 9:00am. They were a no show. I had texted him the address yesterday along with see you tomorrow 9:00am. No response or confirmation. Called and left a message and text him at 9:10. No response. Called him and spoke to him. He said it is supposed to be today at 6:00. I called them as I saw them advertising through Facebook on a neighborhood page. They have family members and friends advertise for them. As soon as I comment on the page, the post is removed. They gave me a ridiculously high estimate and I told the person who came over that I would think about it and I will be getting other estimates. He proceeded to contact me multiple times even after I said I had not made any decisions yet. He finally lowered his price and I agreed. He told me his "team" was on their way after I asked when he would arrive as they were already late. After several messages promising they were on the way, they never showed up. Not very responsive and I should have known better. Contracted them to come cut the tree, they said they would be here between 9 & 9:30. They were recommended from someone on Next-door. I sent pictures and they quoted me a price which I thought was reasonable to cut my neighbors tree. The day they were supposed to arrive between 1-2 they showed up at 3. I specifically told them I was leaving at 2:30 and would be gone for 1-2 hours. They assured they were "on the way" and would arrive before 2:30. When they got here, they rang my Ring doorbell 5 times, leaned on the neighbors car on the street, sat on my planters and kept throwing their hands up as if they were mad no one was home. I tried calling, no answer, their truck was already full from another job so there was no way they could cut the tree and haul it away. Then they left and I get a text saying "Going to come back not enough time today" - I texted back multiple times with no response, says delivered, I've called, no answer. Doesn't get more unprofessional than this. Especially when I am trying to give them my money to do a job, I believe they quoted over pictures, then arrived and saw the project and decided it was too much work for the price, now they won't respond. We had an appt at 11 am on a Sunday. At 10:33 am he texted that he was confirming our appt. At 10:34 am I texted back and said yes. At 11:20 am I texted him and asked him if he's still coming. At 11:50 am he said he had a few appts earlier and I took awhile to respond and he wanted to reschedule. That was wrong! Hired to trim and shape large ficus trees, clear hillside and grind tree stumps they took out. It was an all day job with palm trees needing pruning and trimming trees and bushes. They did a phenomenal job and wanted very much to make sure we were happy. Please don't use this company. I hate writing reviews like this but I have too. We found Jovani's company on FB - through their marketplace search. We called him about clearing out some trees from our backyard. He came over, not in a uniform or work truck, but in sweats and his personal car. Still, that wasn't that big of a deal (maybe it was his day off). He gave us a quote that was quite reasonable for the work we were looking to have done. He said that he could come the following week - all good. Nothing good happened after that. During that initial quote, he asked for a deposit - $200. We gave it to him as he said it was necessary to reserve the day on his teams calendar. I was a bit hesitant as usually I would receive an official quote over email or something but he seemed like a helpful guy. We schedule the work for a week later. That day came and they didnt show up. We called him and he said things ran behind and that he would schedule for the next day. Next day came and still no one showed up. He told us he had something come up. We scheduled it again for the following week. This time we got sick and had to reschedule. From then on our, Jovani became increasingly harder to reach. We called him several times to reschedule and each time it would go to voicemail and he wouldn't return. This happened for a week. We finally got a hold of him again and at this point we were fed up and just cancelled the work. We asked for our deposit back and he said that was fine. He said he would return it to us and he would stop by...guess what? That didnt happen. We kept calling. Message after message after message - no response. We called the office and his team answered and told us they'd pass along the message, but not call back. This happened for two weeks. I decided to call him on a different number. This time he answered - I was very firm and direct with him and he said "no problem, I'll get that money back to you, let me just figure out when I could come by." I said, I can send you a venmo request and he said that'd be fine. I sent him the request and...you guessed it...nothing. We have called him several times after that and no response. He has not returned a call or text and still has our $200. How is this not stealing?! Please don't use this company. I am sure not all of his folks are bad but Jovani is no one you want to work with. read more
