1) I Paid Gomez Landscape (Gomez) $ 18,000.00+ over a few years for various landscape and tree services. 2) The landscape maintenance service was 3 techs each week for the first 3 years. Thereafter Gomez dropped the weekly service to 2 techs only, meanwhile the amount of time at property did not increase, thus resulting in deferred maintenance and lower service than provided before and expected under contract. 3) Gomez planted the wrong type of plants at property, when other plant choice was specified. 4) Gomez stopped caring for trees they planted and said they would take care of and part of general landscape maintenance and irrigation work they did to such trees. 5) Other Various issues developed, and I became aware of such including: a. Gomez used a chemical herbicide ROUNDUP without my permission and without providing warning on such product before use. Gomez used such chemicals without possessing the necessary commercial pesticide/herbicide application license from CA. b. After using chemical herbicides, the old valley heirloom fruit trees are not able to be considered Natural / Organic until many years passed and remediation efforts encountered. Many tall and mature trees in the fruit garden at large backyard zoned for Residential Agricultural Use (RA-1 zoning). c. Gomez contracts and advertising explained that he was a BBB (better business bureau) member, however, Gomez was NOT a BBB Member. i. BBB sent Gomez stop notices and warning letter for wrongful and illegal logo use. d. Gomez contracts and advertising explained that he was a CSLB (CA Contractors state license board) Contractor with a License classification of TREE SERVICE REMOVAL. Gomez did NOT have such CSLB Tree License and rather had a different classification of Landscape maintenance. i. Gomez received a violation warning notice letter for various violations brought to their attention by me. They recommended I pursue court for further action and remedy due to Gomez unwillingness to settle CSLB complaint with myself. e. Gomez contracts and advertising explained that he was a member of various organizations in the landscape and tree care industry which had various member code of ethics and standards in place for its members. Gomez was NOT a member of these various organizations including, TCIA (Tree care industry association), CLCA (California Landscape Contractors Association), Trees are Good, and other organizational logos such as ISA (international society of arborists) corporate only logos. i. These organizations sent Gomez a stop notice and warning letter for wrongful and illegal use of logos. f. Gomez contracts did not have all legally required CSLB language, notices, disclosures, terms, conditions, and other information necessary for review before engaging in contracts with them. i. CSLB sent Gomez a violation warning letter for many various technical violations of CSLB law to consumers. 6) Because of above issues, my property suffered, and I personally suffered economic loss by being led into contracts that misled me into believing Gomez was going to perform more work at a higher quality level and according to many organizational standards and policies. A small amount of additional payment was withheld when I became aware of all these issues that occurred which was less than 10% of the total paid to Gomez before that time. I had already paid Gomez $ 18,000.00 and there was an additional balance due of $ 1,600.00+ from Gomez. I explained the many issues I had with service and entire time in contract with them. They refused to do anything. 7) Gomez next step was to file a small claim court lawsuit against me. I attempted to go to a Mediation with Gomez at such time and the county explained that Gomez refused to go to such mediation and wanted to only go to small claims court. The mediation would have been free and provided by the county to try and resolve such issues without need for court and such. 8) Gomez then filed an LAPD police report against me for harassment. I had not contacted him in person 1 time at all and was only sending them emails and writing, so there would be a written chain and evidence of such communications. I received a call from LAPD and quickly explained what happened and they closed the matter. They tried contacting Gomez directly and LAPD said they were unable to get a hold of Gomez for follow up. That would be the first police report filed against me by another person in my life. This seemed like an additional tactic to stop settlement communication and any such resolutions before small claims court trial he filed against me. 9) Gomez after filing a police report against me for harassment and being told on message by LAPD to not contact me any longer, sent my over 10 text messages that were threatening and trying to entice an argument or fight with me. I have never written any reviews before, but felt compelled to write this one. I figured to take the time and write one, I would either have to have something very good to say or something really bad. I'm glad to say it's something really good. I'm having major renovations done to my landscaping. This includes the removal of hard to get at hedges along both property lines and quite a few large trees. All the trees that were to remain were to be trimmed. Gomez Landscape and Tree Care were referred to me by the prime contractor and designer for the project. I had never heard or dealt with them before, and wasn't quite sure what to expect. I was concerned and had them send me all of their license and insurance info. They arrived exactly on time and brought with them two large trucks and chippers, both were in clean and mint condition. I have a keen eye for how contractors take care and maintain their own hardware. Several workers with orange vests and hard hats were assigned to the project and we all walked through the work to be done. All items to be removed were tagged with orange paint and we discussed which trees needed trimming. As soon as we finished the walk through they got right at it. My wife and I couldn't believe how quick and efficient they were. They split into groups and worked as a team. I can't say enough about how professional and polite they all were. The foremen kept asking if there was anything we didn't like or if we wanted something changed or redone. They finished quickly and we did a final walk-through of all the work done. They did a GREAT job and we are very happy with the results. i called gomez tree care friday. saturday morning gilbert, a certified arborist among his many credentials, was inspecting our hugh california sycamore evaluating what needed to be done to maintain and save our beautiful tree. it had been six years since gilbert was last there and large limbs had begun breaking and falling causing concern. crown, trim, thin, shape and selectively reduce horizontal limbs to alleviate end weight and potential limb failure was suggested. the trunk also was injected with a systemic pesticide to eradicate polyfagous shot hole borer which would eventually kill the tree if not treated. i spoke with gilbert friday afternoon. saturday he was at the house evaluating our tree situation. monday 7am his crew was there talking care of our tree. the crew cleaned up and hauled all debris away. i asked gilbert to please take before and after pictures because i'm currently on the other side of the country and wanted to see what was done. he emailed the pictures and did a beautiful job with our tree. he is also going back to the house in a few weeks to make sure the systemic pesticide injected into the trunk was effective. this is the second time gomez tree care has taken care of our huge california sycamore and gilbert is very knowledgeable about all aspects of tree care. his crew is very professional and extremely capable at what they do. i am very pleased with all aspects of dealing with gilbert including communication and the final results. i would recommend gomez tree care based on my interactions with them. michael...northridge calif. read more

I called Gomez Tree Care to remove two Ash Trees and a Pine from my backyard. Initially, I spoke with their receptionist Angelica, then, she transferred me over to a tree specialist--Gilbert. I was looking to hire an arborist and luckily they have four of them. Gilbert, one of their arborists, came out and walked my property with me and assessed the trees to make sure it was in my best interest to remove all of them. He advised me to remove two of the three trees. He pointed out that the tree closest to my master bedroom would provide vital shade during the summer months. He also said that the other trees would eventually grow and interfere with the high-voltage power lines. Only a true professional would point that out. I ended up going with his plan and we scheduled the work a few days later. Gilbert and his crew of five arrived at seven in the morning on the scheduled date. They immediately started working on the Pine Tree in the back. I was really glad to have an arborist remove my trees because they hung over my house. It truly gave me the "peace of mind" they advertise. Other companies that I've used to trim my trees in the past only use an arborist to sell you the work, but that wasn't the case this time. By ten o'clock they were finished. I was really impressed with their customer service and their efficiency, so I called Gilbert to thank him. I am currently a board member of the Peacock Ridge Homeowners Association. Our board has had a business with Gomez Landscaping and Tree Service for the last 14 years. At first we hired his company for annual tree trimming and in the last 6-7 years we have hired him his company for many other landscaping projects. He has never disappointed us. This past year our HOA hired his company for our regular maintenance contract while continuing to use his company for our annual tree trimming service. We have also used his company to help sure up a hillside behind one of our homeowner's house. That homeowner was very satisfied with the work completed as was the board. After the Wolsey Fire his crew removed and disposed of trees that were lost in the fire and at the same time pointed out many that we thought were dead but were salvageable. We purchased a lovely house in Northridge with a terribly overgrown trees and shrubbery in the front and back yard garden. Something needed to be done as we were about to move in. I have never done any gardening before, and I felt quickly overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the issues needed to be addressed. I called Gomez Tree Care for an arborist advice. Greg Gomez came out the next day and gave me a detailed information on the trees, the hedges and the flowers in the garden and the kind of care they need. Then he explained which trees were in distress, and which needed to be trimmed or cut. He pointed out that one of the trees contained a huge bee hive, and the bees needed to be re-homed. I was provided with a detailed estimate, and my husband and I happily scheduled the service for that weekend. The day of the service Greg came out again. He did a walk-through with his three workers and discussed again what needed to be done. The work ensued! His staff worked very hard. They trimmed the trees, cut down few of the privet shooters completely, reshaped the hedges, trimmed the flowers, and by the end of the day I had a beautiful, exquisite, immaculate front yard and side and back garden! We had 3 podocarpus trees removed from the side of our house and because of the limited space on the side, they had to manually remove the stumps of the trees! Polo Gomez and his team did a remarkable job cutting down and trimming our huge ash trees. We really have nothing negative to say. Words that come to mind: accountable, timely, communicative, professional, affordable, respectful, friendly, and easy to work with. The guys even moved our water tanks out of the way so they could fit the stump grinding machine through, and then moved everything back. They left the place in really clean condition. They were also very respectful of our neighbors' properties, and cleaned up their lots too.
