Pretty good overall and I had to drive so everything that I had ended up being cold but was still pretty good even cold. I tried their tenderloin steak with gravy and hash browns and a couple eggs and that it was probably the best tenderloin I had in a long time. I think it's worth the drive or worth going out and getting it. The gravy tasted homemade it didn't have much flavor but it felt like it was from scratch. We have been to many places in Warrensburg and this is our favorite. A great local place where you walk in and sit where you want. Service is friendly and the food is good at a reasonable price with good portions. I ordered the Western Omelet and it was delicious with fresh ingredients. I ordered with an English Muffin which was huge and already buttered with more butter on the side. The fruit is fresh and I had clementine segments, red grapes, and honeydew. My boys like the Toasty and they get that everyone which includes French Toast , meat and eggs. My husband ordered the hash browns with his meal and they looked great and a good portion. Only recommendation would be to have fresh half and half for the coffee. Love the local and friendly vibe here and it's our standard Sunday breakfast when we are here. read more

Every time I order breakfast, which is a pretty good meal by and large, I ask for extra crispy hash browns. I've never gotten extra crispy hash browns. In fact they are the opposite. Today we got very uncrispy hash browns and for once we let our waitress know. She apologized and said she'd make it right. We waited for the replacement, took our time eating and we're still waiting when we were ready to pay. As we were paying she said she took the "extra" order of hash browns off our check. Really? On a Sunday morning, we arrived to find a table in this bright, sunlit dining room. We were greeted immediately. The waitress gave us a few minutes with the menu, then answered our main question: what is a "pearl sugar waffle?". She encouraged us to order it, and we are so glad we did. Oh, yum. I was so not impressed. I had business appts in town and asked about places for lunch. I was told this was a really good place for breakfasts. I wasn't too much into breakfast so I Ordered the daily special of chicken fried steak and a side of onion rings. the onion rings were decent, but slightly overcooked. A waitress outside smoking and looking at her phone as we pulled in. It's bare bones. I mean, I couldn't even tell it was a restaurant. It looked closed. I'd say no frills but that doesn't describe its complete lack of decor. Its a room with some tables and chairs. They say its been there for years. I guess the locals keep it busy enough. No complaints here! Easy peasy, cutesy little diner type restaurant. Pretty quick turn over on the tables. We didn't have to wait, walked right in, sat down, server came right over. Those girl's were definitely hustling around those tables! The cooks, you can see their heads, weren't slacking either! The place is open every day, 6AM to 2PM. Breakfast and lunch only. (and they're hiring right now!!) The food was good! My son and I got the make your own omelettes, came with toast and hubs got the chef salad. Large, decent sized salad! Everyone was satisfied! I always order the "Mary Jane Omelet" which is packed with sausage, cheese and bacon- my boyfriend dubbed it the "Heart Attack Omelet", but it is so good. The portions are huge, come with a homemade biscuit or hashbrowns, and toast. I've also tried the biscuits and gravy- those buttery fresh biscuits drowning in sausage country gravy-yum! And my boyfriend has been known to order "The Winkie Burger", a monstrosity of a sandwich that includes a fried pork tenderloin AND a hamburger patty. I've never ventured to order it, but I have had a bite or two, and it's good! The menus aren't huge but they do offer a large breakfast selection of eggs, sandwiches and pancakes; also lunch with sandwiches, burgers and tenderloins. They aren't open for dinner. The service was good and friendly, however we had to wait 45min to receive 4 orders. When we finally recieved our food both the wife's and my biscuits and gravy were kind of warm, completely unseasoned, and tasted like bland flour. Way down 13 highway (business 13 now) in an old laundry mat is this small restaurant. Now this is an unassuming place that does not look that inviting but don't just blow it off. Was here yesterday and had this huge club sandwich. It was a BLT over a turkey sandwich and it was just awesome. So I had to come back for breakfast. Wifey had Mary Jane scramble with a bunch of veggies mixed in with the eggs and it looked good. I built my own omelet and the cook made it really well. Having driven by Mary Jane's for as long as they've been at their South Maquire location, I never stopped and rarely noticed. But when co-workers mentioned "biscuits and gravy" this morning, I didn't know where to go. So a quick tour of the web and we found Mary Jane's. I always ask my children "would you go back?" when critiquing a restaurant. That's our litmus test. My answer for Mary Jane's? In a heartbeat. The biscuits and gravy 1/2 order included three biscuits and layers of gravy. Unlike other reviews, I really liked their gravy. Not too salty, plenty of spice, and for those who want more salt...there's the shaker. The daily special caught my eye while I was there...a double cheeseburger and fries (Friday's special) for $5.99. To me, that's a bargain compared to some of the more "trendy" places in town that give you have the portions. Well done, Mary Jane's. Sorry it took me this long to discover you. Mary Jane's has gone significantly down hill since I moved here in 2009. My last two visits were less than satisfactory. The biscuits and gravy I ordered were terrible. The gravy had no flavor. I had to ask the waitress to put them in the microwave because they were cold. My boyfriend ordered a chocolate chip waffle. The waffle was not made fresh. They sprinkled chocolate chips on top of a waffle and put it in the microwave. The hashbrowns were bland. The eggs tasted like pure butter. I will definitely not be going back to Mary Jane's. My advice would be to stay at home and make yourself breakfast. It would probably taste better and you would save some money. read more
