Raging Bull is a great place for a meal! Reasonable prices for high quality food and friendly, efficient service. Our steak entrees included a delicious salad and sides. Most steakhouses of this caliber are ala carte, and charge for each separate item. We were in Warrensburg for two nights from our home in Denver. Our total bill for two steaks, salads, sides and deserts was $103.00, including the 25% tip which we added. If in Warrensburg again we will eat at Raging Bull.. While I haven't eaten there before, I did a Doordash delivery and there I saw a sign giving directions to the bathrooms. The problem was it was saying "Men on the left, because women are always right." While I understand that lots of people may not consciously realize that could be a form of sexism, any demeaning jokes of any trait whether race, gender, religion, and etc should be avoided period. Another issue is that while I understand why someone might blurt such a statement out in a small talk, but would it not generally take a rather different mindset to put up such a sign? We chose this place to meet some friends from Sedalia as we were coming from KC and this was a good midway point - it worked out well in that regard. Awesome burnt ends! My wife and I both had 1 pound and had to get a box to take home leftovers. They were tender and full of flavor. I don't like that after the $20 spent on that we had to add fries,pickle and a bun. They should come hand in hand but I see a lot of places like this. It was still a great $60 meal for our anniversary and I will be back! Drinks are $3.50 about 1.00 higher than most but at least it's a large glass and you don't have to wait around on a refill. We were in the area for training. The hotel was next to the restaurant. It's a recent addition to the area. Pro's- The atmosphere couldn't be better. The inside is a wood theme with several TVs in the seating area. There is a main dining room and a separate bar area. The staff is friendly and very attentive. The menu provides a wide variety of options. The prices were good for the portions and quality. The steaks are cooked properly with good flavor. Con's- The seating is awkward in certain areas. There are a couple 2 person tables lined up in a section that makes it difficult to enjoy a nice dinner without strangers practically at your table. There were 2 couples that requested the waitress find a different area for them to sit. The staff was extremely accommodating and tried to find a better location. We tried a couple of restaurants while in town and we were really impressed with our experience here. The Food was extremely expensive-three adults and one child total cost $170.00 not counting gratuities. Service was extremely poor-the individual providing services for us brought the wrong type of salads to our table. I ordered the ribeye and got a strip steak brought to my table. I do not like strip steak, but I love ribeye because of it marbling and it's flavor. I asked to speak to the manager who turned out to be a young woman who immediately began to lecture me and told me she didn't have to take this from an old man , and all I was trying to get her to do was to listen to my concerns and my frustration. I didn't ask to speak to the owner and he was very considerate and very polite and recognized that we live in a different generation and the young people just don't know how to dealwith the people that they asked to serve. Being that this was a new restaurant in the area (not many options in Warrensburg) we were super excited to try this "Steakhouse" for a special occasion. Cons: To our not so surprise the food was extremely lackluster. The online pictures did not represent what WE actually received. The bread was a bit odd-- topped with sugar and served with a side of honey butter. If it weren't so dry it would have been good. The salad was unique-- a strawberry, pecan salad that was decent, but not your traditional steakhouse salad. The steak was of good quality but was really bland. I had to add ALOT of salt and pepper. All steaks were served with a stuffed baked potato, and because I don't eat cheese, I didn't care much for the plain baked potato (with butter served on the side) as the substitute. What can I say except totally underwhelmed. From the moment we walked in with our 15 person business lunch in tow, we were met with frustration from the inexperienced hostess/waitress who was not dressed in a professional uniform or anything resembling appropriate attire but Instead, she wore a black Victoria Secret PINK hooded sweatshirt and jeans. She commented that they were expecting us and casually rolled her eyes. From just a quick glance around the building and decor, It was immediately clear that the owners had sunk a large chunk of change into creating the right atmosphere for a steakhouse but missed the mark when hiring the right waitstaff. It was noon on a Wednesday and the place was dead. Maybe that was a hint of what was to come. We were seated and began ordering the drinks and appetizers. The waitress was unclear of how to efficiently take down the orders for such a large group so she had coaching from the owner standing off to the side. During a few of the orders she was noticeably frustrated with some of the requests and even made snarky comments to a few of the customers. Soon after receiving our drinks and appetizers we ordered our mains. 4 of 15 people settled on an item dubbed the "Ultimate Steak Sandwich" (see attached pics). From the description and the $14.29 price tag, it sounded spectacular but as I'll later describe, it was anything but. After waiting nearly 45 mins for the food, a few of us asked what was taking so long. I got up and went in search of our waitress. I found her behind the bar with the owner making small talk. They noticed me, made eye contact, and quickly hurried off to the kitchen to check on the food. 5 mins later she emerged with other waitstaff members carrying our lunch plates. When they handed me my order it was actually someone else's. I took a quick glance and realized my order was missing the $2 up charged fried jalapeño sticks. After switching plates with the rightful owner I surveyed my correct order. Between two halves of hollowed our bread were 5, yes 5, total cubes of steak and a mixture of veggies. Although tasty, it was underwhelming considering how much it cost and the flowery menu description talking it up as the owner's "signature sandwhich". Not being one to cause a fuss, I chocked it up to a learning experience. Warrensburg, MO is not a big town and word travels fast. I probably don't even need to write this review but I feel like it's important for consumers to know what they are spending their hard earned cash on. After we settled up our bills, I waited until everyone filed out of the resteraunt. I found one of the owners and the cook and offered some constructive feedback on the service and food. I explained how disappointed I was with the product I received. The owner and her son both explained that they normally use an 8 oz. sirloin for their "Ultimate Steak Sandwich" I commented that there was no way my sandwich or my co-workers sandwiches had 8 oz. of steak on them and maybe had only 2. They replied that when they cut it up, sometimes the steak doesn't get evenly distributed amongst the sandwiches or it falls into the waste trap on the grill. I replied that there were 4 of us who ordered the same sandwich and I think they used an 8 oz. steak divided four ways which would explain why we each only had about 2 oz of steak in our sandwiches. They offered no apologies or to credit my meal. Not even a discount card on a return visit. Bottom line here is that the owners of Raging Bull Steakhouse sunk all their money into the resteraunt renovation and equipment. In order to recoup the enormous upfront overhead costs they incurred, they decided to hike up prices on menu items, cut portions where they could, and use inexperienced waitstaff (cheap labor). Our waitress was extremely patient with a fussy family member, (think 15 minutes to order), attentive but not overly so, gracious and probably an angel sent to show us that Warrensburg is capable of a well rounded foodie experience. The food was pleasant the only thing that I didn't like was the coleslaw but that was probably a me thing not a quality thing. The main reason that they lost a star for me was that there was not a changing table available for my daughter. We stopped by for a quick dinner during our stay at Super 8 across the street. Meat is outstanding here. My husband had the french dip sandwich and it was probably the best he's ever had. I had their daily special, vegetable prime rib soup- wow, there was so much meat in my soup it was practically a full meal. For desert, kids shared cookies with ice cream, which were good, but the cookies would be better warm. The decor is cool and new (reminded me of a modern farmhouse). Warrensburg MO doesn't have that many great places to eat, I think it's pretty fair to say this is one of the best ones. If you're a carnivore, you won't regret this visit! read more
