I arrived for my appointment and the technician asked me if I had any other concerns which I did, he spoke with the dentist & she advised him to just take images of the teeth that I had concerns of. After the dentist met with me I went to make a follow up appointment regarding my sensitive tooth, I approached the receptionist desk where she was whispering to the receptionist. I was told by the receptionist that the dentist wanted Imaging of all of my teeth & she informed me that my insurance would not cover the x-rays and I would have to pay out-of-pocket reason being that the dentist requested only three images that were just taken by the technician. The dentist was well aware that I had not been to that office in one complete year, why wouldn't she advise the technician to take imaging of all of my teeth? When I asked to speak with the dentist all of a sudden she was busy. This is unethical on her part & quite honestly bad business, she was quite unlikable & made the impression that it was more about making money than giving great care, I will not be returning and I advise anyone to use caution when dealing with Shoreline Dental in Milford Connecticut! (Please take the time to check Shoreline Dental's reviews on Google as well there are quite a few with One star and people complaining about the Care that they received)!! Every single staff member I talked to yesterday was wonderful and genuinely cared that you walked through the doors and felt comfortable and welcomed. The office looks brand new and is sparkling clean. I did my teeth cleaning - where they had TVs in each of the patient corners- even one on the ceiling - which I thought was a really fun touch. When Dr Jason came in to check on me he found not one, but two cavities - the first ever in my life! He has an opening pretty soon after so I stayed and he took care of them 15 minutes tops. I walked out the door with a smile and a great swag bag of Shoreline Dental merch. This place is the real deal from top to bottom. A special thank you to all the staff that let me ask for advice on drilling a cavity without numbing my whole face - you were all right - it's possible and did not hurt! See you again in 6 months!

Multiple times she had to take impressions of the same tooth and bridge to send out to the lab only to receive something back that still didn't fit. The last time she more or less blamed me for the bridge her office supplied for not fitting correctly. I suppose the lab had told her off. She kept my bridge that I paid for and told me she would figure something out. I'm sure she sold the precious metals for money that she pocketed. The insurance I had changed and she didn't accept my new insurance. She always preferred that I pay her receptionist/girlfriend/partner at the front desk in CASH. She doesn't do extractions and messed up one tooth so badly I needed to seek emergency care. She filed down a perfectly healthy tooth to use as an anchor for my bridge. Long story short I left Dr. Ursula Potkay and have no intention of ever returning again. I found an outstanding Dentist who provides complete care and does everything (cleanings, X-RAYS, fillings, extractions, etc.) all in his office. He is dumbfounded at the "horrendous work" Doctor Potkay" has done to my teeth. At the suggestion of my current Dentist I am currently in the process of reporting her to the appropriate Dental Council for "extremely poor dentistry" and plan on being reimbursed by her office for every Penny I spent there. Should I encounter ANY issue with repayment I will be taking litigious action against her and have been advised that not only will I win, but most likely she will lose her license to practice.

Then, she didn't ask why I declined, she didn't ask whether my family has a history of radiation-associated leukemias, she didn't ask whether I was on immunosuppressive medicines that could make me more vulnerable to radiation. The dentist didn't ask me anything. She rudely told me that I shouldn't come to Lumos. The entire process felt disrespectful and dehumanizing. I would recommend against coming here.
