We came here because we wanted to grab a drink and hopefully try the soda bread everyone has been raving about. They didn't have and left but the service was excellent so we will be coming back. It was a Thursday and they had live music which I always enjoy. Im not a big fan of chicken tenders but I was hungry and tried them. They were perfectly spicy sweet and tangy. Our bartender was amazing. She worked the whole packed place without a hitch and still had time to talk to us!!!

Scones & a Negroni... what more can one want ?

We had a small private event at the lovely Mary O's. A perfect pub sized space with plenty of bar length, excellent food and a proper tap 7 bar. I had an excellent Negroni, absolutely as it should be made. The homemade scones are the real show here even greater with the Irish Butter & homemade jam/preserves. Just magical, they arrive warm and calling your name. Shepard's Pie, Shrimp Scampi with Pineapple..all was delicious. The space has a disco ball, great sound system, screen. Irish hospitality. We had a wonderful time & I look forward to returning soon.

Mary O's Irish Soda Bread Shop - A Taste of Ireland in NYC! If you're craving an authentic taste of Ireland, you need to visit Mary O's Irish Soda Bread Shop at 93 1/2 E 7th St, NYC! Mary, originally from County Cork, brings the warmth of Irish hospitality and the magic of traditional baking right to the heart of the East Village. Irish Soda Bread Scone w/ Blueberry Jam & Butter - Absolutely divine! The scone was perfectly golden, with a soft, crumbly texture that melted in my mouth. The homemade blueberry jam added the perfect touch of sweetness, and with a spread of rich, creamy butter, it was pure heaven. Mulled Apple Cider w/ Cinnamon & Orange Zest - Cozy in a cup! The perfect balance of sweet and spiced, this cider had me feeling all the autumn vibes. The cinnamon and orange zest added just the right kick, making it the perfect drink to warm up on a chilly day. Mary O's is an absolute gem--warm, welcoming, and filled with the kind of comfort food that makes you feel right at home. Do yourself a favor and stop by! #MaryOsNYC #IrishSodaBread #CountyCorkToNYC #MulledCiderMagic #HiddenGemNYC

Amazing, amazing, amazing! I haven't had a better scone and shepherd's pie. Mary and her staff ( some family! ) are lovely. We hosted an event for the NYC Department of Education Emerald Society and we couldn't have asked for a better host! You walk into Mary O's and feel like you've taken a trip to Ireland with the cozy ambiance, warm welcome, and delicious homemade food!

Excellent scones and NYC experience. Small and crowded but worth the wait. Ate mine on the small bench outside, in the snow! Great start to the day.

Delicious scones! We were here on an early Saturday evening. We walked in and asked Mary, the owner, if we can have scones here. She said normally the scones are only available at her other location but since the other location were closed, we can have it there at the bar. We decided to sit down, have a cold pint, along with the scones. The scones were absolutely delicious! Mary were also a very nice lady. This place is definitely worth stopping by. Highly recommended. We'll definitely go back.

    Chicken pot pie

Just dropped by recently on a snowy nite and had a the best chicken pot pie I've ever had. It was so delicious and flaky--perfection. Also had the winter special drink~~hot cider w. Irish Whiskey which was perfect and only $10! Very friendly, laid-back place and perfect for comfort food...A real gem in the East Village and cannot wait to try the Shepard's pie next time. Amazing corned beef and cabbage too as I've been there for St. Patrick's Day! Yum!

Over the weekend, I attended a party at Mary O's. It was a private event. Mary and the bartender were very attentive and kind. The food was buffet style. The shepherd's pie was perfect, some of the best I've had. The potato salad did not skimp on the scallions and I love green onions! The host of the party raves about Mary's scones. I don't really like scones, but I tried one anyways. And oh my goodness, they were amazing. Not like a typical dry scone. It was moist and flavorful with the perfect amount of sweet. I even ordered some online for myself and my mom. Can't wait for them to be shipped! I also had an Irish coffee and it took me back to my trip to Ireland about a year ago. It was delicious and true to the traditional Irish coffee. Honestly blown away from Mary and her food.

Ask the Community - Mary O’s

What nights do they have live Irish music?

I live in Los Angeles and would like to order one dozen soda bread scones, is it possible to have them sent to me? If so, how do I buy them?

I had them shipped to me during the pandemic and I don't even like scones! At all. But I DREAM of these! They are AMAZING. And the nicest family. If they are too busy to ship, take the flight. They are that good.

Service from the bartender was great. I ordered the fish and chips and a Bloody Mary. Everything was great up till then. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. Maybe it was a deep fat fryer thing, but I respectfully suggest the cook be given a little additional training. The fish batter was hard on the outside, and the fish was completely mushy on the inside. Like, gray mush. The fries were lukewarm. The mushy peas and the tartar sauce were served in little covered plastic disposable containers. I'm not a fan of that, but I get it is convenient. I truly wanted to like this place, and except for my one experience with the food, I would certainly return. People were having fun, and I did as well. I believe if they become a little more attentive in the kitchen, this place is a five star pub.

Apparently this beer is not as common in New York, but there were a couple Irish pubs that still sold them on draft and luckily there was one nearby my hotel. Very cool place! It's easy to miss walking by but once inside there's a bar on the main floor, restaurants in the next floor and a rooftop bar several stories up. The rooftop bar is a huge open atmosphere and once seated you have about 40 beers on tap to select from. The staff is incredibly friendly as well and knew exactly what I was looking for.
