What a great stay at Mary's Boon hotel. We would definetly stay in this hotel. The pros are it's on a great beach, clean and great food. If you don't rent a car then you could just relax here. The cons are the planes that fly over but it's only during the day hours and you get use to it. But it's a great Island vibe and most staffs are very nice. And if you love dogs and cats then they have them there for you to love on. We enjoyed meeting other travels and everyone said they would come back to Mary Boon Hotel

This place is excellent. If you're into a laid back unpretentious salt and sea kinda vibe, this is your place. Service is excellent and views and beach are both spectacular. I've stayed here and I love it. The food is delicious and the drinks are fantastic too. I recommend frozen drinks - which I personally do not do often but when I'm here it's a must. There's a beach party with a DJ every Sunday and it is THE place to be. If you're on the island, make sure you make your way over.

We went when it was spring break - young college students everywhere. The main pool on the family side was where all the activities were. The Adult side was more of a relaxing atmosphere. The food wasn't consistent especially at the Palm Beach Grill. The resort also had a popular grill spot by the pool on the Family side that served hot dogs and burgers. The other onsite restaurants were average. The best dining experience was the breakfast buffet, very organized and the staff served you. The drinks were super sweet, you have to ask the bartender not to add too much juice or soda. If you wanted a nice cocktail have your dollars ready and you can ask him to use the better quality alcohol and not the house brand. For some reason the lobby bar at most resorts prepares the best drinks - this is where I receive the best service along with the best drinks. We had an issue with our room and had to switch by the second day. I really did not like their customer service because they tried to convince us to stay in a room that wasn't up to standard. The first room had a foul odor coming up from the drainage, the shower head was broken and there were broken dresser drawers. They gave us a really hard time and tried to make it look like they were doing us a favor. We had to reach out to the corporate office after checking out. This isn't a bad resort and we would stay here again. It's located at a central location thats close to a lot of restaurants and attractions.

Room was beautiful. Viewed were amazing. The beach is nice, waves are a bit strong. Close to Simpson bay for bar hoping (they say maho village is the entertainment center but...naw, it's not). Sonesta rooms are better than Simpson bay rooms... Simpson bay has more activities and walkability at night. Thankfully it's close by. We rented from dollar rentals in the maho lobby and received free parking on site. It was so nice to have a car instead of paying drivers every time we needed to leave. Whether you're looking to party, chill, relax, sunbathe or be pampered with a personal Butler (check out the butler suite!!) sonesta is the place to lay your head and keep your group entertained at all times. Especially those who prefer to stay at the resort 24/7. For those who like to get out and about, it's close to Simpson bay and not too far from Marigot or Phillipsburg. If I came back with family, I'd stay here. If it was just me and hubby, we'd do an Airbnb.

Unfortunately, guests I arrived with, and who checked in after me, received their rooms before I did. When I went back to the front desk for updates, no one seemed to know what was going on, including housekeeping and the room coordinator. Not the best way to start a vacation. The food and drinks were hit or miss. The first-day buffet was just okay, and the drinks at the lobby bar were honestly pretty bad. However, after getting to know a few of the bartenders throughout my 5-days stay, the drinks started to get a little better. I was also supposed to receive a welcome bottle of wine and a letter from the general manager, but never got either. On the last day, I spoke with someone named Tracey during breakfast, and she was very apologetic and genuinely tried to make things right. Since it was our last day, I decided not to make a bigger issue out of it. The highlight of the trip was definitely the spa. I originally booked a 25-minute body scrub but upgraded after the jets in our rented cabana barely worked most of the time. The staff made up for it by giving us complimentary hydrotherapy and 20% off a longer service. The scalp massage alone was worth it, and the entire spa experience was amazing. Maria was fantastic! The entertainment at the resort was also a little underwhelming. Overall, I found out the resort is still fairly new (about two years old), so it seems like they're still working out some operational kinks. The stay had some frustrating moments, but there were definitely a few bright spots too.

Instead the private Diamond Club beach and bar and the Diamond Club lounge where you can mix your own drinks and snack all day and evening. I don't think we would have enjoyed our visit without the DC experience although I'm not sure the $$$ was worth it. Thank you to the following staff who made our vacation very special. Jeanette whose smile brightened every morning at breakfast. who provided wonderful bar service at the beach everyday. And Aliyah (sp) who gave great service with humor and a smile at the Olympus and Haven restaurants. Forgive for forgetting the name of the supercharged beach waitress who brought us many wonderful drinks on the Diamond Club beach. Her first name started with an "M". We ate at every restaurant. We enjoyed Olympus for breakfast (only Diamond Club member were allowed). We enjoyed Vesper, Haven, and the Diamond Club lounge. Hunter steakhouse was uninspiring. The Excite sports bar was a small "sweaty blur" (Heated Rivalry reference).. Very disappointed in this as I'd hoped to catch a few NCAA games or tennis during the visit. Almost forgot the food truck. Jerk chicken, rice, vegetables, nachos, meat patties and wonderful service. Highly recommend! The room was substandard. No proper door on the bathroom. the toiletries were lacking. We did have dual sinks which was nice. The wet bar was not stocked properly eventhough this amenity is bragged about in the advertisements. Our view was spectacular. View of the ocean and the property. I really hoped to have breakfast in our room one morning to enjoy the view but 3 attempts at room service failed. I recommend not even trying it if you are going there. The check in/check out process for us was very smooth. We arrived on a Saturday and left on a Wednesday.

My only gripe with the hotel is the staff at the sunset cafe. The second bedroom bathroom had visible stains in the bathtub from the moment we walked in--but that was just the beginning. When we actually turned on the faucet, it ran brown water. Not "slightly off," not "maybe it's the pipes"--brown. Naturally, we checked the primary bathroom, hoping it was isolated. Unfortunately, the water there was also questionable, which raises serious concerns about overall water quality. To make matters worse, the floors throughout the unit were visibly dirty upon arrival, making it clear that basic cleaning standards were not met. The entire space felt neglected and not properly maintained. We documented everything with photos and videos because this situation was that concerning. This is not just about aesthetics--this is about health and safety. We will be vacating immediately and pursuing a full refund. I strongly recommend future guests think twice before booking, especially if you're assigned Room 55. Also, the front desk manager, Roslyn was not kind with our request to vacate the property and continues to say that we have to be charged to penalty of an extra night for leaving early. Very disappointing.
