Recently went to get my lil guy neutered. Appointment was fairly easy to make online but spots do fill up months in advance. Price was ok. They kept adding additional charges but it is what it is. When you arrive day of appointment you walk in and fill out quick paper work. Staff is extremely friendly and patient. They answered everyone's questions quickly. When picking up and dropping off it's a little stressful for the dogs. There needs to be a more efficient and quiet way to check out your pet. Giving you information in front of everyone in a loud waiting room while your pet is half awake. Overall front desk staff is very helpful and seemed like they cared about each pet. read more

I want to start by saying don't waste your time going here to surrender your pet.. they want them to be perfect and pass the test within " 15mins" even though they state it's 30mins My pet failed the "medical evaluation " because she avoided them when they tried to poke her with a needle... she was afraid like any other dog that doesn't like needles... read more

I took my puppy there starting at eight weeks to get her all shots. And we got her fixed there at I think 5 or 6 months and they dealt with the hernia she had and everything was great. I highly recommend them , and the difference in the price to get your dog spayed. Is a lot cheaper even with getting her hernia fixed so I think she's due for more shots so I'll be going back. :)) read more

I used to volunteer as a dog walker at this shelter. Every staff was nice and the facility was clean. We adopted a beautiful Shepard mix dog from this shelter in 2011. (My Yelp profile photo is him) and he passed away in 2023. He was my first big dog. He gave us a lot of memories. I watched a video that a balloon was moving like a dog who passed away trying to see its owner. It was really touching and I thought one day I could have the same experience. And wow, it happened to me today. One of my dogs found the balloon on the hallway. The balloon was coming to the dog food bowls first, and I called his name and the balloon came up to me. and the balloon moved towards the refrigerator, so I took the treats from the refrigerator. All other dogs came up to me and sat, and the ballon was next to the female dog that he really loved. I didn't recorded the video because he didn't like cameras while he was alive. Anyway, what I would like to say is Thank you all. I appreciate all the work you all have been doing for dogs and cats. I had great experiences at this shelter, and could have a great dog. read more

I adopted two kittens about 8 months ago from Mary S. Roberts. They are the happiest, healthiest cats. They are best friends and they love cuddling and playing. They are absolute angels. Whoever fostered them must have done an amazing job! The facility looked well-staffed and clean. I took advantage of their low-cost shot clinics which was wonderful and easy. The process of adopting was very straightforward and they gave us plenty of time to meet the kittens. The areas for the adult cats were nice and furnished. I didn't visit the dogs, but the cats all looked well taken care of. I would adopt here again in a heartbeat. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a pet. Here is an update. My daughter did follow up with Mary S Roberts and they DID acknowledge that she got the cat from them (instead of trying to deny on the internet). They told my daughter to either bring the cat back and get another one or bring the cat back and they will fund raise for the cat which could take months. NOT MUCH OF A CHOICE! Remember, this cat was a foster in the first place and then cleared by Mary S Roberts own vets for adoption. So now they finally got to see a specialist and the surgery will be almost $10000 barring complications!! Mary S Roberts should pay for the surgery! At least offer some kind of help! Why not fundraise anyways to help out? It was totally their fault!! Due to their negligence, a 25 year old is stuck paying with a $10000 debt!! read more

I visited this shelter to meet a 7-month-old dog I was REALLY interested in adopting. During the meet-and-greet, the dog bit me repeatedly, hard enough to leave significant bruising. I understand some mouthing can be normal in puppies, but this went beyond that, and I was surprised the staff didn't give a clear warning beforehand. I was also left alone with the dog for about 15 minutes and was struggling to remove myself because of the persistent 'mouthing' . They continued to tell me it was normal and encouraged me to proceed with the adoption even after I voiced concerns about the biting and having small children at home. I hope in the future they'll give a clear warning PRIOR to meeting. read more

I had a great experience here! This was my first time visiting to get my cat vaccinated, and I was really impressed. Not only were the vaccine costs affordable, but the staff also went above and beyond to make the visit as stress-free as possible. Before our appointment, I let them know that my cat, Kimchi, is very anxious and can be aggressive. The veterinary team -- including someone from the behavior team named Dakota -- did an amazing job with her. Even though she was hissing and trying to bite, they remained calm, understanding, and patient. They kept her in her kennel, took their time, and gently worked to desensitize her to their touch. Their approach was thoughtful and super professional. It's unfortunately rare to find vets who are this compassionate and willing to work with challenging pets, so I was truly impressed. I finally got an appointment to get my Bluey spayed. I totally understand that this place is high in demand when it comes to getting your dog spayed or neutered. Everyday I was online trying to get an appointment I would check every hour and I finally got one. I liked how they ask for a deposit of $50 which I totally didn't mind because it went towards my appointment. We got there around 6:40am and there were 3 people already ahead of me. It also tells you online when you book the appointment that it can take up to 2 hours for the check in. So just be prepared. I also got other services done which was her vaccines and dewormed, flea and tick treatment. Also after we got called to have her check in to make sure she was good to go for her surgery they suggested that she get her extra toe she had on the back paws on both sides remove. I agreed to have them done. For all the services I got I have to say the price I paid was nothing compared to what I would have paid at a veterinary clinic. They also give you the option of getting pain medication for your pet which I did want. Once you are all checked in and your dog got checked out they do give you an estimate on how much everything is going to be. If you pay with card they will send you an email in about 2 or 3 hours of how much your total is and you can pay it online. You can pay cash when you go and pick up your dog. They text me to let me know that Bluey did great doing surgery and that I could go and pick her up around 2 but if I couldn't at that time no later than 5pm. I got there around 1:50pm and waited a couple of minutes and they brought my girl Bluey out and gave me her pain medication and explained it to me. Gave me her paper work and her paper saying she is spayed. I will definitely keep coming back for her vaccination and for her monthly flea and tick treatment. read more

I adopted my maltipoo, Molly, at Mary S Robert Pet Adoption Center on 3/13/2011. She recently passed away on 4/20/2024. I was reminiscing my experience on the day I adopted her. It was a very smooth and easy experience. She was up-to-date with all her vaccines and microchipped. The staff were helpful and gave me a lot of time to interact with potential dogs. Molly was a very healthy dog when I adopted her at the age of 2 years and 9 months. She was the most well-behaved girl anyone can ask for. Visited here once so far, I highly recommend this adoption center as it's a no kill shelter, they seem to really care about their residents, and they have amazing deals with very affordable fees. They get the community involved with events like helping to make enrichment activities/treats, walking the dogs, fostering, and more which really benefits the animals. Kids 6 and up can also do fun camps and volunteer their time which I can't wait to bring my son to. They also accept donations, like clean and gently used blankets and even treats as long as it doesn't contain raw hide and pet safe ingredients. I had a feral cat in my backyard who had kittens. I got the kittens to a foster family got a trap and trapped the mama cat. That was a lot of work already along with money to take care of the kittens in the trap. I went down and got there at 6:15 am the next day with the cat in the trap, (and it takes me a half an hour to get ) but it wasn't open, until i see a couple doors down there is a line.... And then I end up being number 11, of course for cats and rejected. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a stressful situation. I was so pissed. I did everything right but of course their website doesn't tell you. !! THEY HAVE NO HEART !! We found a dog we fell in love with and were making arrangements to adopt him. We looked at a lot of dogs a week prior, and he just fit with us! He had an injury that needed to be looked at by the vet the next day, then they were closed and the following day I had to go out of town for work so taking the dog to be locked in a crate for 12 hours a day was just not the right thing to do to a dog! I was told by shelter staff that while the dogs are "first come first serve", I should not be worried about this dog being adopted before I could get there (48 hours later) because of his breed, age and injury. We walked in today (the day we TOLD THEM we'd be there to adopt him) find that exact dog being walked out and adopted right out from underneath us! My 8 year old had to watch his dog leave with someone else and is beyond devastated!!!! I TOLD them we would be there and I TOLD them we were adopting him! They don't care about you in the slightest. Their response to me and my crying son was, "we are first come, first serve, and we have other dogs!" A dog us not just any dog, it's a member of your family and you can't just pick out any dog like it's a vegetable.... I can't believe this has happened and how much they hurt me and, more importantly, my young boys and don't care at all! SHAME ON YOU! read more

Picked a clipboard that had my dogs name on a table saw a sign surgery check in to wait there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Behind came in a women telling me do not pick up a clipboard did I not see the the sign hanging on AN EMPTY RACK WHERE THERE SHOULD BE CLIPBOARDS to my right insulting me pretty much as she pointed a yellow sign to see our awesome volunteers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was no volunteers sitting directly in front of me. I actually thought she was a customer whom probably thought I cut in front of her. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not until then I was tended by some elderly women whom were volunteers after the fact.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As I looked for the women who had humiliated me. I had realized she was a staff member. I grabbed the sign to bring it to her attention and show her it is misguided it said cats. Also the rack was empty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had asked her to speak to the her manager. I did tell her I do not appreciate her rudeness[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . The clipboards were on a table. I told her I am here to get my small dog neutered and this isn't free. On the way other side it had a sign that mentioned dogs mind you way other side of a table with an empty clipboard as well . [[HIGHLIGHT]]She took the sign out of my hands with a self congratulatory expression telling me she's the manager EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. She has zero manners nor management skills[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. As a matter of I'm not a difficult person to deal with. This service isn't free. She needs to be retrained..or not deal with the public. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is absurd and shameful for your business to allow your staff members to treat anyone with such disrespect and her huge smirk speaks volumes of her demeanor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm pretty sure I'm not the first person she has been rude to and probably has issues with your other staff. And it explains her behavior and has not been reprimanded. She is employed by your customer revenue. You should consider your other staff members whom you probably by passed to be your new manager whom are qualified. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not all of your staff were disrespectful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am also very grateful for yelp where customers have the opportunities to voice our opinions and concerns as together as community can contribute revenue.
