There's plenty of room in one section of Maryland Fried Chicken that is available for indoor dining. If you want to enjoy your food while it's piping hot, there's plenty of seating space. However, from what I could see, the majority of people do takeout. On this trip, we ordered the three leg special, and liver dinner, and a single pork chop. Everything was prepared well. The fried okra and the french fries that came along with the specials were also tasty. No complaints here. We will be visiting again before leaving town. Maryland Fried Chicken is listed as one of the quintessential eateries in Myrtle Beach. If that's any indication, their culinary scene is atrocious. When you walk into this modest little joint, you think you've stumbled onto a hidden gem masquerading as a hole in the wall. It's not. Fried chicken batter should be crispy and crunchy. But I found an adjective that I never thought would describe fried chicken batter, leathery! I would have needed a steak knife to efficiently pierce this chicken batter, similar to the pigskin of a football and way oversalted and uncomfortably greasy. The mac and cheese is straight out of a Kraft mac and cheese box, and the fries certainly came from the frozen section of the local supermarket. This is not the real fried chicken I eat in Alabama and Tennessee, so I cannot recommend this place in good conscience. Note: Always trust Yelp over TripAdvisor and Google reviews, because this site is far more accurate. The chicken was pretty, but lacked seasoning. The rice & gravy was pretty good, but could've used a little something. The fried livers didn't have any seasoning to me. I am super disappointed in the service and food I received. I grew up eating at Maryland Fried Chicken in Conway. I visited the restaurant back in May and was able to do two separate orders at drive thru. On 7:7 I visited the restaurant just be told rudely they can only do one order at the window. After receiving my food the chicken wings were fried so hard it was just unpleasant to eat. The French fries tasted like old oil that needed to be changed. I was so disappointed I threw the food out. But I wanted to make it known that was not a happy experience for me or my family. read more

Also had to get the pint of liver and gizzards (I called it lizards in my haste, the counter lady clucked at that one), OMG would have killed for some cold beers at that point. Same with the sides, i got green beans (you could tell they were just dumped from a can), potatoes salad (if you love mustard you will love their potato salad because it was filled with mustard) and macaroni and cheese ( i put a ton of salt and pepper to make it be worth eating) so all and all i did not enjoy the food but the service was good! The okra was just great but I took na star away for the horrid MUSTARD MASHED potato salad. What are you folks thinking? We had a lot left over because as potato salad goes it is simply awful, but when we got home I decided to make some deviled eggs. As an afterthought, having that full container of mustard mashed potatoes in the fridge, I decided to slip that into a few of the egg halves.
