A friend and I were on our way up to Boston after hanging out in Cape Cod the day before, and we read the amazing reviews for Marylou's on yelp. Pulled up, admired the excessive pink, and walked in expecting to find some cute girls behind the counter, waiting to offer great customer service and delicious coffee. Not the case. The girls are young, whiny girls that think they are hot shit. They weren't at all helpful in suggesting coffee flavors and they didn't let us know about the price specials they were having that day until after we already paid. Also, they either gave me the wrong coffee, or did not know how to make white chocolate coffee, it tasted like berries, it was weird. The drinks were also inconsistent in taste. My friend ordered a mint coffee, which was only slightly minty, and when I got my berry drink replaced, I ordered a mint coffee as well which was pretty darn minty. Very cute place, if not in the most charming of locales. Adorable girl behind the counter suggested the Girl Scout for me, which kind of tasted like a grasshopper (the drink). Joe got a mocha coconut thing, which was WAY delicious. Honestly, I was kind of more in the mood for a hot drink, but by the time I realized Adorable Counter Girl's suggestion was iced, I felt too awkward to correct her. Or I may have been blinded by her adorableness. It does things to you, man. We also got a banana chocolate muffin. Joe was insanely in love with it. I thought it good--better than most muffins--but still basically just a muffin. There are about a gazillion flavors of coffee there. Including "secret flavor" and some special flavor called... the Big Mary or something like that. Point is: I'll be going back bcs coffee flavors are like pokemon and I gotta catch em all. read more

J and I were leaving the EMS nearby and needed Iced Coffee stat! No Starbucks in sight, and I can't stand Dunkin Donuts, so when we saw a sign that said "Best Coffee in Town" and how busy the place was, we couldn't resist. I got a hazelnut iced coffee and J got an iced mocha. J's iced mocha was the color of hot chocolate which we thought was weird but hey, what do we know? This place has the best coffee in town so they know what they're doing. The iced mocha didn't have a drop of coffee in it. It was a sugary, cocoa flavored cup of nasty. My iced coffee wasn't any better. It looked like coffee, and it smelled like coffee but it tasted like hazelnut infused water. We walked outside disappointed and tossed the liquids in the trash and realized that Dunkin Donuts might be our only chance for caffeine that day. I don' t know what the hype is about this place. The decor is plain other than the pink, the counters are crambed with baked goods, the menu board is partially hidden making you stand up against the counter to see it, and the girls don't even say hi they just ask you for your order. I ordered a medium regular coffee with cream and sugar. They put too much cream in and not enough sugar. Coffee was filled to the rim so the first step I took and it came out of the top and onto my hand. Now I can see why I never come to this place. read more

Didn't understand the hype around Marylous ... coffee was extremely watered down and I was unable to finish it. This particular store was way too small and the line was wrapped around the entire store (which I was surprised that Having so many people in such a small confined space was allowed in the midst of COVID). Giving 2 stars for the flavor options though and the pink retro theme was cute and unique for a coffee shop although I would rather go to gourmet donuts or Aroma Joes than this place any day read more

This is a totally hip little place with SO many coffee options. The girls working there must be teenagers and they all wear tie dye. The whole place is bubble gum pink and pop music plays on the radio. This is a busy spot and it is tiny. There is a row of stools along the window, but I definitely wouldn't want to be in there very long - it's a get your coffee and get out type of place. They have all sorts of flavored coffee and coffee combinations. My boring iced coffee with light cream was delicious. Good spot for grabbing your caffeine. read more

If you're going to go to Marylou's you can expect good coffee with so many flavors but don't expect to get it fast. The service is extremely slow. Sometime I feel their personal conversations are more important than my order. Again, love the coffee, not a fan of the service. read more

I enjoy the Oreo cookie monster here. I haven't really tried the other beverages. Also, I absolutely love the snickerdoodle cookies. They are facing huge! The girls who work there are always pleasant and its always very clean. I only come here once in a while though. They are a tad pricey. read more

Funky Fanabla all the way! I am now obsessed with this coffee. It was very sweet and rich, so I wouldn't recommend getting it everyday, BUT that was a specialty coffee. I was also impressed by my service, the lady was very nice, patient and helpful. It was a little more expensive than dunkin (3.30) for a medium I think, but it's not on the same plane. Mary Lou's is serious competition for starbuck's and their specialty drinks. The best part is that Mary Lou's is PINK. AND I MEAN PINK. EVERYTHING IN THE PLACE IS BRIGHT PINK. The worst thing about this Mary Lou's location, is if you go during their rush hour, it will be a little chaotic. It is a very small shop, but has oodles to offer. read more

Not sure if all the hype messed with my expectations or if I sold just ordered the wrong thing, but I found Mary Lou's to be a little bit of a let down :( I ordered the famous iced coffee and it tasted so watered down that I thought they gave me a chai drink--unfortunately had to toss after a couple of sips. I got the feeling that this is the place to go if you like really sweet/crazy coffee flavors as the menu sounds more like an ice cream shop menu. As a regular/average/non-fuss coffee drinker, I would probably skip Mary Lou's. But willing to give it another try if I'm hankering for a liquid dessert. read more

My only question after leaving here: WHAT is this place like in the summer? I'ma lifelong New Englander who lives in Marylous's-less Connecticut now, so when I vacationed in Hyannis in the winter, I was pumped about starting my day with some Mlous.The space in this one is really small, and the service was kinda slow, even with 2 people working. I imagine in the summer they've got a few runners on shift with whoever is on the cash register, or else this place must be swamped. Best iced coffee i've ever had! If you're a fan of flavors, this is the place for you. I used to go to Dunkins because of their "variety" of about 6 flavors...boy was I wrong. A friend of mine took me to Marylous, and you can imagine my excitement when I saw an entire wall full of different flavours ranging from regular hazelnuts and vanillas to more exotic ones like girl scout cookie and copa banana! Not only is the list of flavors impressive, but the taste is surprisingly amazing and so fulfilling! All this on top of extremely friendly staff is why I give this place a 5/5. read more

Only get to stop in here once and a while when I'm near by but boy do I wish there was one around my area! Their coffee is a thousand times better than any other chain like Dunkins or Honey Dew. The staff was quick yesterday even though there were a few people in there. You can tell they are used to it being busy and know how to provide quick service. They were also all very friendly. Had the Hazelnut iced coffee and I love how their iced coffees are brewed that way and they don't just put flavor shots in them. read more

I've review their other locations and this place was on par with other spots I've been. Great coffee and mediocre pastries. The coffee is so good though (and probably calorie laden) that you don't need to worry about giving the food here a second glance. interesting experience today. I ordered a 1b of ground coffee, the girl dispensed the coffee into the bag, overfilled it and then dumped it in the trash? Thought it was odd that if it was overfilled, they would rather throw it out rather than give it to the customer. Other than that, coffee is like an ice cream stand, many varieties, very sweet. Locally owned and managed, it feels like an old timey (well at least the 70s) donut shop with great coffee and cool, friendly employees. Recently on vacation at the cape, didn't expect much in terms of coffee in that part of the world because my expectations of coffee are quite high, but happy to say I was extremely pleasantly surprised by this little pink hole in the wall. I'm so glad the hot pink color caught my attention on my way in to check in to our hotel, very very delicious coffee served by very nice girls. They even gave my dog treats! Stopped by here on my way down to a beach day on Cape Cod. The decorations are all bright pink, and the staff are very friendly and fast. They have a lot of really cool flavors of specialty coffee, some that are named after candy like Twix and Butterfinger. I got the Milky Way ice coffee and my sister got one with coconut. Both were really good! I like my coffee sweet and this one did not disappoint. read more

Based upon the pink decor and pretty girls on the signage, I was expecting this place to be a perkier version of Starbucks (if such a thing existed.) It was not. The coffee was fine. I'm not really a coffee drinker. In fact, I can't really accurately critique the coffee. What I can do is critique the people who work there. So yes, a bunch of pretty girls worked there, but that's where the fantasy ends. All of the girls who were working there on this particular Saturday morning were cranky as could be. I was almost afraid to ask for changes to my order. When I asked for a bagel, the girl serving me seemed almost annoyed. Like, "who asks for a bagel?" Our drinks were hastily made and pushed in front of us with hardly a glance. Extra sugars were thrown on the counter in an equally disheartening way. I'm sorry, but if you're going to advertise yourself as a pink place with pretty girls and call yourself Mary Lou's at least hire people who are nice and look you in the eye and smile. I mean, I get that this is Massachusetts, but it's not Boston. Even the baristas in Boston are nicer than these girls. I shall not be back. Onward to 'bucks! read more

I love Marylou's coffee but not this location. I recently moved to the Cape, and my first experince at Marylou's was the Yarmouth location. They are supposed to make your beverage to order EXACTLY how you want it, because the customers always right. All i wanted was a iced coffee with oreos at the bottom, and whipped cream. The location in Yarmouth makes this drink with no issue. Its not there usual way of making the iced coffee, so when I asked at this location I was given a serious attitude, and was told they can't make the drink that way. When i explained the Yarmouth location makes it with no issue i was approched by another girl with a bigger attitude who still refused to make the drink.I feel disrespected. One thing you dont mess with is Someone's coffee. Not cool..You guys dont even deserve that one star you just got. read more
