What an experience! While visiting the area, my friend wanted to take us to one of her ol' stomping grounds, Marylou's. The shop sports hot pink ALL over and a fast paced small shop. Their menu leans towards standard black coffee or their more popular of their fancy, sugar full iced beverages. I did find the menu lacked direction, as I would have had NO idea how these beverages were made if my friend did not direct me. of course the team would of helped out, but they were categorized as "Specialty", "Extra Speciality" or Gourmet, so all essentially sound like the same thing, hah. They do specialize in flavored coffee without the sugar, which is nice, flavor beans that range in double digit number of flavors, but they are really known for their iced beverages that are shaken with marshmallow fluff and hot chocolate mix, not my cup of tea, so I learned towards an iced coffee. I got the Cinnamon Hazelnut with cold foam. My husband ordered a cappuccino, which only one of three staff knew how to make, so probably a sign to lean towards iced. It's definitely a fun spot, but menu is very overwhelming, glad I visited this classic staple for the area, but I did enjoy many of the other coffee shops I visited while there a bit more! read more

I've only recently started going to Marylou's but it's quickly monopolized my coffee purchases. Personally I recommend the Lime Rickey. There's plenty of flavors to choose; from green apple to raspberry. Be careful to health nuts because there IS a can of red bull in there and it does overpower a lot of the other flavors but it gives it a kick that picks me up any day of the week. The coffee is fragrant and it hits you as soon as you walk in the store. The service is always top knotch. Overall when it comes to coffee in the area. Marylous can't be beat! read more

Very friendly staff, great selections of coffee and eatables. Located in a neighborhood so you might miss it unless you're looking for it. It was easy to find parking on the side street but a little tricky to get out because there are signs not to turn around in neighbors' driveways, and the street is a dead end so I'm not sure how that's supposed to work. I just got a basic iced coffee with milk and sugar and it was delicious so I can only imagine what the flavored coffees taste like. I know people who love Marylou's and go there religiously and I can see why. read more

Marylous Ice coffee is definitely the best on the South Shore. The workers are always friendly and prompt. Whenever I'm driving past a Marylous, I have to stop. Stopped at this location in Braintree. Plenty of parking on the side street, not on the main road. read more

Consistency is the key to coffee and that's where Mary Lou's hit the nail on the head no matter which location you end up at. Tons of flavors to choose from and I'm nowhere close to having all of them. My usual would be a peanut butter wonderful. Plenty of other snaps and treats are sold on the counter or maybe even try your luck with some scratch tickets. There is only street parking, but make sure to not park in front of the driveway right next door because there are signs posted. Workers are extremely friendly and even offered to change my coffee for free if I decided that being adventurous was not a good idea. Can't miss the store front with a large pink sign. read more

I have been buying Marylou's coffee off and on for years. This particular location is always speedy for service. For hot coffee - Cinnamon Hazlenut, Pumpkin Spice, Egg Nog, Belgian Waffle, Santa's Cinnamon Stick, and Strawberry Nut Cream are all fantastic! Awesome variety of flavors- Almond Joy and Funky Fanabala are my favorite but the Peanut Butter cup, Girl Scout Cookie and Twix are great too.... Apparently the other reviewers didn't get the memo that this place is known for their pretty girls with skimpy clothing. Comes with the territory.... but why complain? They are the kind of girls that can get away with wearing "butt shorts!" I say all the power to them! :) read more

During the time of the coronavirus with all the precautions every restaurant / other take out and coffee shops are taking (ex. wearing gloves wiping down surfaces etc.) I ordered a very easy coffee to make and you would've thought I had asked them to cook me a Thanksgiving dinner with the eye rolls and aggressive "yuppp" reply I got lol, anyways the girl who made the coffee was not wearing gloves and put her fingers on the straw hole of the coffee lid to mix the coffee up. Then when I was handed the coffee I tipped the girls $2.50 because I appreciated them working and making my coffee during this crazy time (neither of them said thank you), and then leaving I said thanks so much girls have a good one! And just got zero responses. Awful service and obviously dirty employees, my friends and I will be taking our business else where after this awful experience. read more

their coffee is just plain gross. not only this location. I know my standards are high, but they lower the bar to an all new low. Ugh. Had to put espresso into the unflavored coffee to make it drinkable. Didn't try an pastries or anything, just a terrible coffee experience. Will not attempt again. I don't get why so many people frequent this shop. They are always busy so I thought to visit again after having lousy coffee here 2 years ago. My wife and I walked to Marylou's yesterday. I ordered a regular (cream + sugar) iced coffee. My wife had a flavored iced coffee. Now I like my coffee just a touch less strong than Starbucks. My wife likes what I consider to be weak coffee (1 tablespoon per 6oz cup of water). But oh my - Marylou's coffee is a joke. It's like 1/4 teaspoon of the worst \generic pre-ground grocery store steel tin coffee to a cup of water. I don't believe in wasting my time on posting negative reviews, but I'd like to warn potential customers to stay away if you like a good strong cup of coffee. Marylou's is a great neighborhood staple where you can get cold drinks, snacks, lottery tickets, and the newspaper - and see people you know who live in town. But unfortunately the coffee is lousy. So the oreo cookie monster was delicious. I'll give them that. But..this coffee place is a little different. I didn't know you were supposed to go and get a cup of ice yourself from the freezer upon entry, and the girls behind the counter seemed a little grumpy about that...and about life in general. Not to mention I think they were making fun of a customer right in front of me and my friend...(snide remarks, knowing glances, snickering).. A little rude. i have to agree with another posting about the butt shorts. They should be reserved for cheer leading practice, not in a food establishment - there must be laws against that! But. the coffee is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! some of the coffees sound like they have a thousand calories (Funky Fanabla) but the Almond Joy is delightful. Absolutely love the Oreo cookie drink from every Mary Lous, and as a rule I'd stop in a Mary lous because I expect a better attitude. The blonde one with the nasty look on her face you can see as soon as you walk in the door... ya thanks anyways since when do you give a customer their drink by dropping it on the counter and walking away? I love Marylou's and I have found this location to be awesome (I do like Weymouth as well but not as awesome sorry). The girls here are always nice and friendly and give good coffee service. Even when the line is long it is quick. A week ago as i went to pick up my coffees off of the counter (the girls at work ask me to pick them up all the time as well) a man coming thru the door (as it is a small entrance/exit area) bumped into me. Being half asleep still I clumsily spilled my medium iced coffee all over the counter and myself. The girl who was waiting on me was SO SUPER NICE about the whole thing. She wasnt annoyed atall. She cleaned it up (as i tried to help and she discouraged me) and she had someone make me a new coffee as well. I offered to pay for the new coffee and she was just so nice about the whole mess. I love Marylou's. I cant buy it 7 days a week where it is $3.18 for my large ice coffee.... but will keep coming back a few times a week. When I want to sit for coffee I am likely to go to the Marylou's in Weymouth on Rt 18. They have the same great coffee but with more space in their shop and tables and chairs for sitting whereas Braintree is "standing room only". The Weymouth location would probably draw me in more frequently if they had wi-fi. Really what coffee shop with a hang out area doesn't have wi-fi? read more

What a happy pink place. My absolute favorite coffee. SO MANY FLAVORS! I love their iced coffee and specialty concoctions in particular. My #1 go-to is the Gone Bananas. I also pick up pounds of coffee to take home whenever I'm on the south shore. Banana Nut and Cinnamon Hazelnut are the best I've had so far. Unfortunately Mary Lou's has yet to come to the Boston area - I don't know what they're waiting for! read more

I love Marylou's coffee, and used to work at a different location and loved it. This particular Marylou's is the dirtiest one I've ever been in, although they were speedy, friendly, and the coffee was great, I was turned off at how dirty it was. The store needs to be fixed up badly, the walls, counters and floor are a mess! read more
