Flipping on the AM dial and cross referencing with my NOAA app, the approaching storm was too close to pass up on getting a beachfront view of. What really can we be certain of that lurks within the darkening stratus or the thick nimbus - it made me think about the "Parkway Ends' sign. Combined together, we had to run for the beach--and I was on my way somewhere else. Quickly zipping into a perfect parking spot, I exited thinking about a bread shop that made the highest Yelp marks but a little corner cafe caught my eye. Set with Kelly green linen cloth, i sat nustled into the middle outside table, sipped the morning coffee and absorbed the moment. I guess the storm headed off, I dunno, I got entranced into the menu of Irish breakfasts. I'm coming out of the gate talking about Mary's bread. Nutty, wholesome and colored molasses brown, I can't recall the last I've had of this sturdy stuff. Blood sausage, pork links, beans and two fried eggs that were brilliant yellow, sturdy texture held off the fork a bit, silky and buttery and a treat to behold. Any breakfast lover would be doing themselves a disservice to not sit here at Marys and enjoy not only an excellent traditional Irish breakfast, but service fit for a king.

If you want delicious breakfast go to Mary's and enjoy the outdoor seating while you soak up the sun. Meet the "New Mary" she's the best .. along with her friendly staff. Krista our server, was the sweetest. Good peeps all around, true & genuine

Eggs, brown bread, bangers and corned beef.

Went to Mary's for the first time and what a treat. A quaint place with great staff and very good authentic Irish breakfast. The corned beef hash was my favorite part!!!

My first experience for a true Irish breakfast. It was delicious . The homemade bread was amazing along with everything else. The service was great, the portions were huge and the prices are very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Mary's Irish Shop!

This is a definite stop for the perfect Irish breakfast. Mary runs a welcoming little shop. My dad is a regular for the big Irish breakfast after church. A pot and a half of tea, Irish sausages aka bangers, rashers, black and white pudding, eggs, beans, potatoes/tomatoes and brown bread.... sure to fix any damage from the night before.

I only had the cinnamon scone but it was terrific. I took one home and wish I'd taken more.

Unbeatable Irish breakfast. And the best service in Long Beach. They really make you feel like you're at "home".

While on a corner on a pretty busy street, the location seemed slightly obscure. No parking - just 2 or 3 spots in front of the establishment. We came mid-day on a gloomy Sunday in February...so we didn't have an issue parking right in the front. We were greeted by the friendly associate. There were lots of great-looking gelato flavors which the associate also allowed us to sample first (very kind). She was very patient with us and really seemed to enjoy working there. We're BIG hazelnut enthusiasts, so we each had one scoop of hazelnut flavor and one of the Rocher (hazelnut) flavor. They also had an amazing fig and honey gelato flavors which was absolutely delicious. They offer 4 sizes - kids' size, and then the usual - small, medium and large. The small is 2 generous scoops - and that's what we went with. The overall experience didn't disappoint at all; we thoroughly enjoyed the treat, my hubby had an espresso coffee as well (very good) and we got a kids cup of vanilla for our pup. The prices were also decent and for this type of experience, I will gladly support a small business. I definitely recommend checking out this little gem. Will return once the weather get warmer!

I went with a large 3 flavor cup and chose rainbow cookie, cannoli and s'mores. The rainbow cookie was my favorite of the three. And they put a little tiny cone on top which was cute.

But the taste is great, the portions are huge, and it's definitely worth it! Pistachio: The pistachio flavor is very strong, even a bit salty. Those who like it will love it, while those who don't might find it strange--for example, my dad thought it tasted like salted fish. No Sugar Added Hazelnut: The best of the bunch. The nutty and creamy aroma of hazelnuts is rich, and because no sugar is added, it's not too sweet. A pure yet exquisite flavor. Strawberry Mascarpone & Ricotta: Amazing! It tastes like strawberry cheesecake! The perfect amount of cheese, combined with the refreshing strawberry jam, is simply wonderful. Cranberry: A very simple fruit sorbet. Most people might find it too sour, but for someone like me who loves sour flavors and had just eaten in Thai restaurant like Tha Phraya, it was perfect. Refreshing, natural, and helps cut through the greasiness.

I settled on the pistachio creme brulee (one flavor). It was a creme brulee base with pistachios mixed in. The texture was a little more liquidy than what I expect from gelato. Flavor was less bold and less creamy than what I expect as well. Ate a lot more like a sorbet. Pricey at about $10 for a small waffle cone (excluding rip). Service was quick and polite.
