While shopping in the area, it was lunch time and we needed to eat. Flour Shoppe popped up on my search and off we went. The staff was just so lovely and friendly with great service. The space is warm and inviting. The menu offers all day brunch as well as some more lunch type items. They have a bunch of different lemonades, both the Arnold Palmer and blood orange versions were quite good. The Le Grand BLT may have been the most perfect BLT I've ever had. Wonderful grilled sourdough filled with Maple Pepper Bacon, Tomato, Mixed Greens, Garlic Aioli and Bacon Jam. It was a little sweet, a little savory and all around delicious. Served with house "chips", not potato chips but maybe fried wraps(?), I'm not sure but they were amazing and addictive. The FS Chicken Salad included Grapes, Apples, Cranberries, Celery, Red Onion, Tomatoes, Candied Walnuts, Mixed Greens on a Croissant was excellent and also served with the house chips. They were also accommodating for a nut allergy and were able to make it without the walnuts. It was reythe perfect spot to grab lunch and I'd go back any time. read more

I wanted a latte I was in the area looked on Yelp and found this location and wanted to try it. Very friendly staff greeted as soon as I walked in and given a menu nice clean establishment. I already knew I wanted a ice coconut mocha latte with skim milk. It was really good not to sweet you can taste the coconut and the mocha. I definitely will come back next time to get a larger size latte and try there avocado toast. read more

My group of friends and I came here around 1PM on a Sunday afternoon after a day at the park and were lucky enough to snag a table outside. It was fairly busy when we arrived! This is an order at the counter first and sit down after type of spot, but all the folks that helped us out were great! The menu had so many great sounding options, but I opted for the Kinda Cuban sandwich as well as the black sesame matcha. My boyfriend got the breakfast burrito. All of the food came out fairly quick and tasted delicious. My black sesame matcha was so refreshing, I honestly can't wait to come back to get this again. My Kinda Cuban was also so yummy! The chips were like homemade tortillas with the perfect crisp to them. Such an interesting pairing with my sandwich. The bread had a bit too much butter for my liking, but that's just nitpicking. My boyfriend got the breakfast burrito. It hit the spot for sure, but it was basically what you'd expect. The home fries were just as tasty as they looked! This is a fun place with interesting options. It's a good location to bring kids because you order at the counter (no waiting for service while the kiddos get restless). I had the California omelette. I wasn't sure about the eggs and ricotta cheese combination but I was trying to be adventurous. I'll get something else next time. This is an interesting place. I guess I like the idea of seating yourself and then going up to order but it becomes a bit chaoctic and hectic when there are just random ppl standing near the register and you don't know who's ordering, who's waiting for the their food and who (like me) is just confused wondering how to be seated lol So if you are reading this review let me help you out. Grab some menus find a seat, when you are ready to order head to the register place your order and they will give you a number on a cute spoon stand thingy and bring it to your table when it's ready. As for the food . I really enjoyed my omelet . My home fries were undercooked . I went to the counter and let them know. Then I awkwardly had to scrape the potatoes into a bowl and get it cooked longer as opposed to them just bringing new ones out. The French toast was bland . I was expecting nice cinnamony flavor but quite basic. I am interested in coming back for their pastry's. I wouldn't rule them out but I'm not running back here either. This was our first time at the new location. Stopped in for breakfast before running errands for the day. The food is really good. My wife has the Avocado Toast which came with a little side salad and a tasty vinaigrette. I tried the bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich which also came with the side salad. My wife had a regular coffee and I had a latte. Our server was great. She was attentive without being overbearing. This location is definitely different from the previous one. Doesn't have the cozy cafe feel. However the decor was tasteful and inviting. We will definitely return. read more

Food is pretty good , you order at the counter and they bring it to your table when it's ready . Interesting menu, many options . Excellent tea and coffee selection . This last time I dined in was my first time using the restroom and I was genuinely concerned about the cleanliness of the kitchen if the bathroom is that dirty . Flour Shoppe is a really cute and well decorated place to grab some brunch. I love the mix of metals and woods, the twinkling lights hanging across the brown tin ceiling tiles, cheese grater light fixtures, and other little details. I ordered the Egg Platter which came with 2 eggs, home fries, toast, and a choice of bacon or sausage. There might have been some timing issues with some new staff, since everything but the toast came out at room temperature or a little cold. The potatoes were fried with a bit of cheese which was a really nice touch and delicious. The bacon was super thick cut which I really appreciate, but the maple pepper glaze was super thick and tasted like teriyaki and not really my jam. The eggs were fine, nothing too special. My boyfriend and I stopped in on Sunday when all the local diners were packed. I'm glad we did because the food was excellent and was prepared and brought out to us pretty quickly. I docked off a few stars because though it was a busy Sunday, I wish the instructions were more clear. There is a small sign but we saw it after the fact. The order to order is to ask for a table from the cashier, when table is ready grab a menu, after selecting your food, order and pay with the cashier again. It is confusing when everyone appears to be huddled around the cashier, but that may just be because limited seating/space. In a larger space, this would definitely feel more like a Panera and less crowded which I would love to see. Otherwise, I highly recommend takeout for now because the food is delicious! read more

My wife and I tried the flour shop I had the egg sandwich. Sorry to say the role tasted like it was stale was not that happy. The staff needs to be retrained. They never came over to ask how everything was and ask my wife if you would like another cup of coffee or would you like some napkins? It felt like I was bothering them. My wife and I visited recently for brunch. I really wanted to like this place, but it turned out to be a regrettable experience. They are known for the quality of their baked goods, and the bread did not disappoint. But that was about it. The rest of the meal tasted like slightly elevated fast food. And what really brought things down was the Aperol Spritz I ordered. I think that the bartender skipped the prosecco, added a minimal amount of aperol, and loaded up on sparkling water and ice. It was probably the worst drink I've had in my life. And although the food prices are listed on the menu, the drink prices aren't, for good reason. At $17, this is more than I've ever paid for a brunch drink in Brooklyn or Manhattan, much less Rockville Centre. I sent a complaint to the owners. They indicate that they actively encourage feedback, but apparently not enough to give the courtesy of a response. read more

This is a review of the NEW Flour Shoppe, which has moved from its charming space on Sunrise, to a better location, but far less charming co-habitation space in the heart of the RVC village. The previous home on Sunrise made you feel like you were up in Woodstock. It was cozy and rural feeling. And the coffee and pancakes were great. This past month they closed that shop and moved in to share the space with Lenox & Park, on RVC's Park Ave South. Clearly this was a financial move, and I'm guessing it keeps TFS alive, rather than closing? I assume this because there is absolutely ZERO synergy between the two food establishments. TFS had a hippy-dippy Woodstock 70s feel. Where L&P is a alcohol bar with a handful of tables, and images of mobsters on the walls. Huh? Yeah, who thought this would work? It doesn't. I've never had the pleasure of dining at L&P, but I see they get good reviews. But TFS's new incarnation in their space was nothing like it used to be. The coffees were just "ok", and a bit cold. And the pancakes were borderline terrible, burned on the bottoms, tasteless on the tops. Nothing like the grandma pancakes they used to make. Other dishes in our party were even worse. There is currently no sign for TFS outside, so you just have to "know". Once inside you can see a sign, and the staff wearing TFS t-shirts. I'm guessing all of that comes down/off when it transforms back to L&P later in the day. While it was nice seeing some familiar faces from the old TFS, clearly the old charm did not transfer. We sat outside so we got no really service.. we had to go in to order because waiters didn't came outside only to bring the food. I have to say that this was on my brunch list for awhile to try this place out. I've finally was able to make it and was happy about it. I went with my sisters for a good ol' Sunday brunch. We arrived there with no reservations, but got a table pretty quick. I first start off with the aesthetics of the cafe. Very cute, intimate and cozy. I love the design of the place with the little lights, it had a charming feel to it. I like that it made you feel at home, the staff was very nice and professional. Now let's get to the good part: THE FOOD AND CAFE DRINKS First off we ordered the chai latte( wasn't too sweet) which was ok but liked that it was steaming hot! Next ordered the brown sugar macchiato, it was just ok had to ask for sugar packets to boost the flavor. ( But that's just me I personally have a sweet tooth). Next, the BRUNCH FOODS.... We ordered the chicken and waffles. Was a little disappointed about this one only because they just served breasts and not other part of the chicken. It was delicious when you dipped it into their red hot honey sauces. The waffle itself was sweet already, no syrup is necessary to put, unless you like extraaaaa sweet. Next order was egg omelette platter! That was super yum! Especially the home fries. It came with maple bacon( barely tasted the maple) but still delicious nonetheless, scrambled eggs, yummy sourdough toast with light butter. Lastly just because we wanted to taste the cinnamon glaze pancakes...and that's why I gave one star off, it was overly sweet, the icing had a bit of an aftertaste and actually kind of made me feel nauseous lol. But hey we wanted to try and it wasn't our main so it was ok! So overall I would say their food was pretty delicious, just wish they had more chicken varieties and plain waffles. We saw yummy deserts and pastries as well but was super full already. I said to myself I would definitely come back next time to try a cookie or brownie. Oh yes last but not least! You have to order at counter first lol, and then they bring your food to you , which we had no idea as we were wondering when the server was going to attend to us haha! You order at the counter, get a table number and then your food is brought out. There is partial waiter service in this aspect. I ordered blueberry granola pancakes, which is on this weeks special menu. They were delicious. Flavorful and blueberry-y. I had blueberry and granola in every bite. My mom ordered Nicky's Cookie Dough Pancakes. She said it was lacking cookie dough, and no cookie dough was present. She said it was simply regular pancakes with some chocolate syrup. My stepdad ordered banana crumb pancakes. He said they were just okay. Didn't say much else. We also ordered a side of hash browns. Not what we were expecting at all. They were hash brown patties. They were quite flavorful though, and had the right balance of seasonings. The pancakes were served in a bowl, which made it very difficult to cut as the bowl would wobble. A very odd presentation and serving choice I feel. Next time I'm in the area I would like to try their pastries that looked delicious...but I'm not sure if I'd return for breakfast. read more
