5/25/2026: Masa Ramen, a staple in the Santa Clarita Valley for 10+ years and for good reason. This is genuine, artisan ramen, the way it's supposed to be served. The broth has been meticulously simmered for hours to extract all of the delicious umami! The fried rice, the fried pork cutlet and curry were all prepared with care, paying attention to how all of the flavors complement one another. The family who owns and operates this ramen-ya are from Osaka, and my Osaka born and raised Momma Kiki approves! When I was 11 years old visiting my Aunt in Shinjuku, she took us to a place that felt like a neighbor's apartment. The front was set up with a bar/counter and he stood behind, serving up the best ramen and side dishes I had ever tasted. He left an indelible mark on an 11 year old's palate! Since then, I have gone to every ramen joint chasing the unctuous Tonkotsu ramen with the thin noodles, delicious slice of chasu pork, wood-ear mushrooms.. Masa Ramen is the only one who has come close! Before people say, "but Carol, have you been to Shin-Sen-Gumi Hakata Ramen or Daikokuya"... yes. Yes I have and I stand by my statement. Masa Ramen is as good if not a little better, I don't have to drive an hour or more and then pay for parking! It's a small space, but they keep it tidy. The decor is simple, and the focus is definitely on the food! My nephew had their tonkotsu plate with curry and it was delicious. If you want spicy, they have a house made chili blend they use to kick it up a notch, and it will make your head sweat! Momma Kiki enjoyed her Pork Fried Rice, my brother had the Tonkotsu Ramen and I had the Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen just to try for a change. All dishes were delicious! I'm ready to go back! We genuinely felt like we were back in Japan again. The flavours were incredibly authentic, rich, and comforting, every bite was absolutely delicious. The broth was deep and flavourful, the noodles were perfect, and everything tasted fresh and made with care. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the whole experience just felt special. The ramen was ok. I've definitely had better. The broth was thick and would have been better if it wasn't so salty. Noodles were perfectly cooked and the accoutrements were good. Egg is extra. The pork tasted more like chicken and was grilled. Wasn't my favorite because it was salty and not the typical belly you get at other ramen restaurants. Service was good. The owner does it all. Brad, the waiter/host/provider, was a hoot and hit for this place! We were openly greeted with a warm welcome from Brad and gave us his favorites on the menu and how the chef makes all the ingredients for the ramen and broth. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen, spicy edamame, and egg rolls for lunch. Broth is flavorful and has a smooth taste that warms up the body. The spicy edamame definitely was a kicker with the spicy garlic. Took a bit to numb the spice but it was great to start the food adventure. They have parking in front of restaurant and they are open for lunch and dinner. While restaurant is clean box and some items stacked in dinning area. Floor and tables are clean. Menu are a laminated placemat that have seen better days. I had the Mabo Ramen which has a good flavor but is also somewhat salty. Good portion size and good service. Warning no public restroom. A couple years back I used to live in the apartments down the street from this restaurant. My wife and I use to walk to this restaurant every other week to enjoy their good ramen and takoyaki. Moving back to Santa Clarita we wanted to feel nostalgic and try our once favorite ramen place in SCV with our 2 year old. As soon as we walked inside we were not immediately greeted. While waiting I decided to unstack the stack of high chairs and a younger man presumably the son aggressively told me "Please dont touch that! We'll take care of it." My wife even gave me the look like is this guy serious? Looking at many of the other one star reviews others agree this man's behavior is uncanny and unsettling for food service. My wife repeated what he said to make sure I heard him correctly and I was stunned. I lost my appetite but my wife assured me we were already there so might as well eat. Presumably what appeared to be the mom took our order and I ordered the tokatsu ramen and my wife shared a rice and chicken tokatsu bento box with my son. The wait for food wasnt too long maybe 5 minutes. The same angry man placed my ramen onto the table and left to take the order of another customer and forgot my chopsticks. My wife had to ask twice for chopsticks before we were handed our chopsticks. The ramen broth was so salty and noodles lacked quality. The portion size was so small for the price. Nothing about the ramen was special, that despite that man's attitude, made me want to return again. We were handed our check mid meal instead of towards the end of the meal with no comment. We weren't offered refills on our waters. Final verdict: would not highly recommend Masa Ramen to anyone. Not to my friends, family, or the person reading this. Yes as others commented the place is small so thats why they are particular about arranging chairs and the seating and I get that, but it was a Sunday during lunch time with one other customer besides us. I was really hoping on eating here again after many years, but this man's personality was salty, leaving an extra saltier flavor to the ramen I could not get myself to enjoy. read more

I cannot believe I forgot to leave a review. We came on Nov 4 around lunchtime for a party of 4. It was me my husband and my two girlfriends. Brad helped us and he was AWESOME. Brad idk if you remember me but we talked about Mortal Kombat! So sad that we live in the Bay Area because I really feel like we all would've been friends. The food here is amazing. The service is great. Everything is clean and organized. One of my friends is vegetarian, and Brad was so attentive to her dietary needs. The pricing is fair as well. I was craving some good authentic food where I did not have to drive out of SCV and wanted to support a mom and pop store. I ordered their beef bowl and cold tofu appetizer and I loved it. The beef gyudon tasted like what I had in Japan. Restaurant is quite small with no restrooms, but food is delicious. Please support them as they are going through rough times. As a Japanese-American who has lived in Japan and frequent Japan to visit family, I can FINALLY say I found a ramen-ya san (ramen restaurant) in LA area that I actually love and TASTES JUST LIKE JAPAN. THE RAMEN: From upon the ramen being put in front of me, I immediately smell the broth and KNEW, this is it!! Tasting it confirmed what I smelt. Noodles, are actual legit ramen noodles. Not cheap cup noodle noodles that some ramen restaurants try to pass for (yet some customers still think it's good-clearly not actual ramen folk who know better). The meat/tonkatsu, was DELICIOUS and pan cooked before added to the bowl just the way I like. QUALITY. TASTE. TEXTURES. BROTH. NOODLES. even the added egg, chopped veggies, EVERYTHING WAS AUTHENTIC AND DELICIOUS. They are Japanese staffed and so was able to order my food in Japanese which was nice as well. THE RESTAURANT: Is small and quaint. If going during lunch hour or during cold winter season, expect a wait BUT IT'S WORTH IT. THE STAFF: Work very hard, friendly, and know what they're doing. Again, give them some grace when it's busy--know ahead of time. I promise you the ramen is worth it still. Lots of folks order ahead for pick up too so this is an alternative if you choose. As others have mentioned, brought my family to eat. We've been here multiple times since we don't live far. This time, we were asked if we could leave our travel stroller in the car due to space but the other multiple times we've dined here, we were able to simply pull a chair out and park the stroller in its place. However, what stood out the most was what looked like the son who came up aggressively to let me know that they are a small restaurant and that I need to understand that. Terrible experience. There was only one person there, and he was both taking orders and cooking, so I'm not sure if he was the owner or manager but he was extremely rude. He wouldn't let me sit inside and eat the food I had just ordered simply because I ordered it to go, even though I was the only person in the restaurant. My first time coming here was with coworkers over a year ago.... Tasteful ramen! Then I started bringing my family, and we stop by every now and then when I bring up ramen for dinner/lunch... Masa Ramen has become my go to place & at this point I don't plan on venturing else where in SCV for ramen. The service is always great and the owners (I'm guessing) are always pleasant and genuine as well. My family is a fan of One Piece so we enjoy the pictures they have around the shop. My go to ramen is the chipotle ramen, my kids tend to go for the masa, shoyu, or chipotle ramen as well. My partner's go to is the curry ramen and the spicy mabo ramen. Appetizers that are our go to are the gyoza, chicken karaage and the chicken fried rice. The food is ALWAYS DELICIOUS!!Just had to say put that in here. read more

My favorite place for their magical fried rice!! I've been coming here for YEARS and they never disappoint! I live in the SFV but I drive up to Santa Clarita just for Masa Ramens perfect fried rice, no place makes it as good as this place and i'm a huge fried rice fan. I went in yesterday to treat myself & sat in a smaller table. I don't usually dine in when I get food here but yesterday I did notice there is no restroom (good thing i didn't have to go lol but I did want to wash my hands). I ordered fried rice with teriyaki chicken on top, it was amazing as always. 1 & honestly ONLY complaint I actually have is that this place is closed on Sundays AND Tuesdays.. like WHY??? Our server did seem a little unwelcoming, but he did allow me to use the bathroom despite being told one wasn't available (California law substantiates this, I checked.) But we came for food, not service style. The four of us all felt our meals were outstanding. The edamame, vegetable Gyoza, and vegetable ramen were all outstanding. Then i always go for a bento box for my kids they absolutely love it and the flavors of this ramen is the best I've had compared to other places.
