Satisfies your Korean noodle craving completely! Ever watch a Kdrama and they're eating that delicious black bean noodle (jjajangmyeon) and you want it too? This place has the best black bean noodle I've tried in any Korean place. New menu item with meat now which I got and it was so good. Only $13.95 for a big portion. The jjampong is also a favorite here! I got the "gochu" one with more spice and it definitely had a kick! Huge portion, hot, flavorful and tons of seafood. I think I ate 8 mussels if not more. Wish I was closer but alas I am in SF :( Great service - authentic Korean. Very nice clean interior and good comes out piping hot.

Tried this spot and liked it. Nice place, great portions, and the service was good and quick.

Thank you, Yelp reviewers for this place is awesomely good and the food is so delish! Love the ambience and its atmosphere is just amazing! Ms. Myung Jin is really nice and very attentive. Definitely going back again! Did I say the food is delish? Will try the other dish!

Though the food was just okay, I will say the staff is so kind. Service was quick and they had such a sweet, positive attitude. We got the Jjamppong and the Soy Garlic wings. There was very little seafood in our Jjamppong (and we still had closed mussels) and the broth was a little bland. I also wish there were more noodles. The chicken was perfectly cooked but way too much garlic (even for me and I'm a big garlic fan) and also way too sweet from the honey glaze they use. They have a lot of seating inside so this place would be good for large parties.

Honestly so glad I tried it out. The food was hot and made to order will definitely come back. Fast service as well

The menu misrepresented the actual food we got. We were served very oily potstickers and gray noodles with a minimum of vegetables and 4 small shrimp. We tried to eat it but it was too gross. As I was paying for the food I declined the take out box and informed the waitress that we did not eat it because it was not good. That turned into a whole thing where the waitress wanted to argue that the potstickers were fine...the noodle dish was right (see the green onion?) It was comical the way she kept insisting that the food was fine (it was not) I told her 3 times... I just want to pay and go She was very insistent that the food was exactly as it is in the menu. Behold my pictures and see for yourself The food here is not good and the service isn't either. Go elsewhere

Great food! Love the noodles here - esp the jja jang myun, bokeum myun and jjampong. All classic and tasty. The tangsoyuk is crispy on the outside and tender pork on the inside. The classics jja jang and jjampong hit the spot. And the prices are very fair! The service is friendly and accommodated our large groups as well and when it was just my wife and daughter and our whole family. Maybe holds 40 ppl. Small cute place. Note it has one bathroom.

During the road trip along the west coast, I found this place along the highway 5. I ordered Jjajangmyun and deep fried chicken with chili sauce. Jjajangmyun was just ordinary. But, the deep fried chicken was a big disappointment because the flour coat felt like a rubber. They should easy on the ingredients they put on.

Stopped by again, and it has really lived up to what I wrote like 5yrs ago. I ordered jampong and Tang Suyuk. It had fresh veges, and sizable amount of seafood, lots of topping in the soup and sauce. This place is super clean. Food and service also better than other Paiks I've been to.

Is there a vegetarian version of the Jajangmyeon? Or does the Jajangmyeon contain meat?

Jajiangmyeon has pork belly in that black bean sauce. Without the pork meat and fat, it wouldn't taste like jajiangmyeon.

Have they reopened with indoor dinning?

    Yes they have.

Do they have the Beef Jjampong yet?

Yes. It's pretty peppery so we get it without for the kids. Still a little peppery but it's good

I live near Koreatown in LA and this spot is like home away from home when I visit family!…read more It is located in a large mini mall so there is ample parking. Inside, it is roomy, modern minimalist design with a high ceiling. Each table has a grill in the middle with a vent above. Staff turns the grill on low to prevent overcooking. (and yes, you are cooking your own meat which is the fun part.) I normally order all-you-can-eat menu A. I prefer the non-marinated meats - beef brisket, thin pork belly, beef belly and beef sirloin and dipping it in the oil/salt/pepper and the soy jalapeno dip. It's flavorful and "clean" in taste. I do like the marinated meats like the beef bulgogi, garlic chicken and spicy pork. They are marinated perfectly. I just prefer tasting the meat on its own. As with all KBBQ spots, you are given an array of banchan that can range from kimchi, pickled everything (radish, cucumber, daikon), potato salad and tofu. You also get a personal size serving of rice. Staff is very helpful and friendly and they switch the grill after each rotation. I can barely finish three rounds of meat so paying around $40 is well worth the price. This is place is great for hanging out with friends, a casual date or bringing the whole family. (For children, if the adults are buying the AYCE menu, children are charged by their height. My four year old niece barely eats so $10 is a great price and we don't have to pay for full price like some places do.

We were both pleasantly surprised. My friend ordered the Cold Spicy Noodles and immediately commented on how authentic the flavor was, reminding her of dishes she enjoyed growing up in Korea. I went with the 5-piece Shrimp Tempura appetizer, which was perfectly crispy and delicious. Combined with the generous assortment of complimentary Korean side dishes, there was more than enough food to leave us completely satisfied. One of the highlights of the restaurant is that every table is equipped with its own tabletop barbecue. Most of the guests were enjoying the Korean BBQ experience, and the food looked fantastic. We didn't try the barbecue this visit, but after seeing and smelling what everyone else was cooking, it's definitely at the top of our list for next time. If you're looking for authentic Korean flavors without having to drive into Los Angeles, Charcoal Korean BBQ is a great local option. Friendly service, delicious food, and a comfortable atmosphere make it a place we'll gladly return to. I'd give it a solid 4.5 stars and look forward to coming back to try the tabletop BBQ next time.

Jorge was our waiter, and he immediately brought waters and banchans. I made a comment about how the menu is now a QR code, and Jorge pointed out the newer items, such as egg rolls, hashbrown, and fried squid. We also ordered two draft beers ($7/ pint). Jorge took our meat order and we started off with beef belly, thin pork belly and marinated pork skirt meat. The food arrived on a robot which was really fun. (Don't forget to hit the Done button to send the robot back home!). I also ordered the fried squid. I found the beef belly to be perfectly fatty, and it crisped up really well. My favorite has been the marinated pork skirt meet for a while now. The marinade is a little sweet, and the pork tasted great too. I tried the fried squid legs and there was a lot more fried, and less squid legs. However, the batter was pretty tasty! We ordered a few repeat meats, and Jorge was efficient with the grill changes. The last thing I ordered was the tofu soup. I don't want to say it was too spicy, but it definitely had a kick that left me coughing. I wish that we could pick the spice level, maybe next time I will ask to see if it's possible to get less spice. This is my favorite KBBQ spot in SCV. The staff is always friendly and efficient. The icing on the cake for me is that they always have the best music playing! I always have a good time whenever I come here.

The soy ginger is salty goodness, perfect for someone who wants to venture a step beyond the Classic Crunch. My personal choice for next time would be the fries over the Korean style street corn. If you've had esquites from your local street vendor, you'll feel the same. The portions here are hella generous for the price; lunch special is $11.99 for a variety of chicken combos and a side. I appreciate the choice of bottled or soda machine for my soda; I'm a bottle person. They have Pepsi for your carbonated needs. The crunch on this chicken is something special. Particularly on the legs. It gives the full ASMR experience! The female cashier was super welcoming and helpful. We were hesitant on what flavor to choose, and she offered a two flavor split. She also noticed my wife didn't order a drink and offered a water cup. It's the little things, but oftentimes I have to ask for basic necessities. The restaurant has several booths or regular table seating. The atmosphere is fun and exciting, just like the chicken! The cashier kept it moving as well, making sure the restaurant was clean and checking on all the customers. For the out of towners making a pit stop but want something special for the road, or a local in need of some comfort food, this is the spot. It's not quite as fast as "fast food" (crispy chicken takes time), but it is oh so worth the teensy wait!
