This place has the best black bean noodle I've tried in any Korean place. New menu item with meat now which I got and it was so good. Only $13.95 for a big portion. The jjampong is also a favorite here! I got the "gochu" one with more spice and it definitely had a kick! Huge portion, hot, flavorful and tons of seafood. I think I ate 8 mussels if not more. Though the food was just okay, I will say the staff is so kind. Service was quick and they had such a sweet, positive attitude. We got the Jjamppong and the Soy Garlic wings. There was very little seafood in our Jjamppong (and we still had closed mussels) and the broth was a little bland. I also wish there were more noodles. The chicken was perfectly cooked but way too much garlic (even for me and I'm a big garlic fan) and also way too sweet from the honey glaze they use. They have a lot of seating inside so this place would be good for large parties. read more

The menu misrepresented the actual food we got. We were served very oily potstickers and gray noodles with a minimum of vegetables and 4 small shrimp. We tried to eat it but it was too gross. As I was paying for the food I declined the take out box and informed the waitress that we did not eat it because it was not good. That turned into a whole thing where the waitress wanted to argue that the potstickers were fine...the noodle dish was right (see the green onion?) It was comical the way she kept insisting that the food was fine (it was not) I told her 3 times... I just want to pay and go She was very insistent that the food was exactly as it is in the menu. Paik's has a few locations and I'm glad we have one up in the SCV. When I'm. Raving Chinese/Korean food, Paik's hits the spot. No more driving to k-town in the middle of the week. Food: 5 stars. The food is consistently delicious. I've tried almost everything on the menu and nothing has disappointed me. I've also ordered delivery and the quality of the food was excellent even delivered. Service: 5 stars. I've come here for lunch and dinner and the service has always been excellent. Parking: the spot is located in a strip mall type place that have plenty of parking. Great food! Love the noodles here - esp the jja jang myun, bokeum myun and jjampong. All classic and tasty. The tangsoyuk is crispy on the outside and tender pork on the inside. The classics jja jang and jjampong hit the spot. And the prices are very fair! The service is friendly and accommodated our large groups as well and when it was just my wife and daughter and our whole family. Maybe holds 40 ppl. Small cute place. During the road trip along the west coast, I found this place along the highway 5. I ordered Jjajangmyun and deep fried chicken with chili sauce. Jjajangmyun was just ordinary. But, the deep fried chicken was a big disappointment because the flour coat felt like a rubber. They should easy on the ingredients they put on. read more

We were greeted with hot or cold water, depending our preferences. We ordered quickly and food came out a few minutes after. Jjajangmen and jjambbong were both great as well as tangsooyuk! Jjajangmen had a good amount of meat and the noodles were perfectly cooked! Jjambbong soup was very spicy yet delicious! It was perfect for a chilly night. Tangsooyuk has white-ish coat that was kinda mochi but crispy. The sauce was not overly sweet and had enough veggies to add refreshing taste to the deep fried food. Overall pretty good spot if you're looking for Korean Chinese food in the area. They have the classic dishes you would look for, but I think the spots in Koreatown do it a little better. Wished they served kimchee is my only gripe. The service is always nice and friendly, and the inside is clean and comfortable to dine in. First off for the non Koreans, this is not Korean food. It's Korean-Chinese food that Chinese/Koreans from china brought over to Korea back in the day. If you try to order similar dishes in china it will be drastically different. However it is very much a staple in Korea and usually eaten by ordering take out. That being said I usually eat hear after awhile and I have forgotten how mediocre it is. Portions are less, maybe due to rising food costs but it lacks flavor. The pork tangsuyuk really is all breading. Crunchier but still very little meat. Do not order the spicy shrimp dish as it's not much shrimp and more just random vegetables thrown in to make it seems like a dish. Sad really as I would pay more just for a better dish. The jajamyun is ok, noodles usually over cooked, I do usually order to go so maybe that is a by product of that. Still it could be better. I'd rather have a non chain jajangmyun place that makes the food better quality than a chain that no one really cares about in name. But I give it 3 stars for Valencia as it's a 2 star if in LA. I do try and support local businesses and I'll still come hear but my expectations are low. Pay more if it was just done right. read more

Cool little shop in Santa Clarita for getting jjajangmyun -- maybe the only place? Regardless, the food here is good and authentic. It's about $12-13 for a bowl of noodles, and you get a pretty large portion. I was plenty full, as the noodle expanded inside me post-lunch. This is a perfect weekday lunch spot for those that work nearby. They give you a little bottle of water at your table to refill your cups, which is a nice touch. The staff is super nice, as well. The food here is outstanding. I order from here through food apps quite frequently and have done a couple pickups and eaten at the restaurant once or twice before today because the taste is consistently good. I decided to come on here and write a review because of the amazing service I received today. My mom loves their jem bang jia jia myun so much (which is a jia jia myun plate with seafood and a little spice) that she wanted to celebrate her birthday here. I wasn't sure if they would be okay with such a large group (with three very young and rowdy kids) coming and doing a bday party but they were super accommodating and kind and even brought out paper plates so we could cut up my mom's birthday cake. I'm not sure if the person there was the owner but she has such a great heart and she seemed genuinely happy for our celebration and was super accommodating. She smiled at my kids and didn't make me feel like I needed to rush out of there with them (which I feel at most restaurants that I go to) and she was kind to the birthday girl (my mom). The fact that not only is their food super tasty and amazing but they aren't going to make me feel comfortable and welcome there with my kids means everything to me. Some recommendations: Their jia jia myun on a plate (as mentioned above) is spectacular. Their creamy shrimp is also very yummy. Their fried spicy chicken also fantastic. I'm so surprised the food were yummy. I didn't expect much at Santa Clarita eating Asian food, I tho it's gonna be soso. We ordered jjajangmeon, mandoo, soy garlic chicken wing and seafood fried noodle. The seafood noodle was damn good, I was surprised didn't expect much, the octopus was tender, shrimp was fresh and lots of veggies. The soy garlic chicken wing was tender, fresh and crunchy, this was different from Korean fried chicken in NJ area. Mandoo and jjanjangmeon were allright. Having tried Paik's Noodle in Santa Clara, CA (NorCal location), I had a good idea of what to expect. However, the dishes I ordered here were different than the ones I've had before so I'm keeping it generous here. We got the tangsuyuk and the bokkeummyeon. Both were just okay. The tangsuyuk had a lot of breading which made it feel like a slightly oily eating experience at times, but the flavor wasn't bad, albeit light so use a lot of sauce. It's nice they keep the meat and sauce separate so you can still taste the crunch - that is as much crunch you can have with a thick breading. Bokkeummyeon was also only okay in flavor for a stir fried seafood noodle. The noodles were probably a little too well done for my preference and the seafood was an okay combination of shrimp and squid. Overall, mixed feelings on this one as the NorCal location certainly aced their jajangmyeon and the jaenbang jjajang (beware, super spicy). read more

Everytime I've gone into ktown lately, I don't enjoy the Jajangmyun. I am disappointed because they tend to be too sweet. This Paik's location has got it right! I grew up in Arcadia and went to San Gabriel for noodles but since moving to the SCV I only had 1 other place that was good. Everything was fresh, not oily and seasoned perfectly.
