This is one of my favorite lunch spots! I'm questioning the negative reviews as I have been coming here for years and have never had a negative experience- both service or food quality wise. It's hard to get an affordable, and delicious lunch these days but this is THE spot. The lunch specials are always a hit, teryaki, sweat and sour, or the hot and spicy are my go tos. The portions are hearty and staff is super efficient. The Teriyaki is pretty much what you would expect. However, the people I have encountered that work here are the type of people the we all need in this industry. I was still able to order the lunch special right at the time cut off. I have been turned down at Bentoz on Barbur because the lunch special was over at 3:00PM and I got there at like 3:01! Such BS! I was really happy when I ordered off the regular menu and was offered the lunch special at this place. Also, my husband accidentally left his LV wallet (authentic) at the restaurant. He realized it when he got home. He went back and the guy working there gave it back to him. All the cash and everything was in there. That's how it should be but most stories don't end like that. It's teriyaki... it's not a cuisine you should ever give 4 or 5 stars to. For what it is, it is good...mediocre... but again, like every other teriyaki restaurant out there. They messed up my order and gave me teriyaki chicken instead of hot and spicy chicken... but again, that has no impact on the rating I gave. They have plenty of Sriracha and teriyaki sauce bottles to fix it. No harm, no foul... it was still good. I also had the egg rolls (more of a spring roll) crispy, cabbage heavy with a sweet dipping sauce... but at 3.95, it proved to be a fairly economical bite! It's a good stop. The staff here are very friendly and attentive. The service is quick on weekdays and weekends, not much of a wait ever in the dining room usually only has one or two people in it. I have only ever ordered the Teriyaki Chicken and Egg rolls from here and I will give those dishes a 3/10. The Teriyaki is served on a bed of rice with a side of veggies (Cabbage, Carrots, Broccoli) and the veggies are never cooked down all the way. They are almost always raw and need to be steamed for longer. The Egg Rolls come in a pair of two but are very tiny, and they only give you a tiny cup of sweet n sour. Only good for about a dip or two. The chicken is very tasty and they give you a good portion of it, the teriyaki sauce is okay, it kind of taste like a soy sauce based teriyaki, so it's flavorful just not for me. read more

Disappointing. I really wanted this place to be good, cause it's close to where I work. The "salad" (?) had been cooked, like cabbage. Not sure if that was intentional or not. Mad Hita is a small teriyaki restaurant next to the new Walmart store. They have beef, pork, chicken, vege, shrimp, salmon, tofu, ribs, rice, yakisoba, ramen, teriyaki, pot stickers, spring rolls. I had beef yakisoba and spring rolls. Yakisoba has lots of noodles and a little bit of beef. They mad it correctly with just enough sauce. This place is way better than most of the reviews that I'm seeing. The chicken teriyaki Is excellent. Has that nice grilled flavor to it and the teriyaki sauce is very tasty. I usually get a side of mixed vegetables steamed veggies, and they don't season them. So they're not too salty or oily tasting. I think the chicken is one of the best menu items. Probably better than the beef choice. read more

Got some food to go today, Chicken Katsu. Had to drive back to work before I started eating it and noticed a thick black hair poking out of the breading. Gross, but whatever, pulled that out. Second piece also had black hair. Third piece I actually took a picture of it still in the chicken. Don't know how this thick black hair was not noticed before frying the chicken, as it was imbedded into the breading. Not sure why such a long hair or so many short hairs made it through a hair net, but gross. Didn't have time to drive back and didn't have time to get something else so I just pulled the hairs out, but I will not be returning to this location. The chicken for the katsu was very tasty -- it wasn't dry or pounded too thin and the breading was perfectly crispy. The teriyaki sauce was pretty good too. Worst teriyaki ever. I was at Verizon and looking for a place close by for lunch. This is just next store so my husband and I thought we would give it a try. I ordered the chicken and pork teriyaki. It was SO SO bad. The sauce was extremely runny and WAY too sweet (and I like sweet). The pork was flappy with no sear. The chicken was very dry. I ordered a salmon teriyaki and chicken teriyaki plates. I was told it would be 10 minutes. I had two hungry kids who needed to go to their sport practice. I waited half an hour. The three people who ordered behind me got their orders of two and three bags, and two teriyaki plates before I got mine. The lady upfront would walk away when I asked how much longer and why others were getting their food when I placed a two plate order. The only reason for one star is their teriyaki salmon. This place was awesome!! Super reasonable alternative lunch specials, and each one is a good and generous serving! The chicken was nice and thick and a huge piece. I'm a light eater and it was way more food than I really needed! I think the average individual would probably find the serving to be filling. Service was very nice, and the place was very clean. It makes us sad. It is Shita Teriyaki. Nothing special, and for the price I'd go elsewhere. We dined in and had the beef teriyaki and chicken lunch special. There is nothing special about any of it.
